He was probably part of the scam too lol. A lot of names to remember in order to warn other people what kind of scammers they are.

I am curious about him. He showed an oddly friendly reaction to my rewards post, then didn't answer anymore after that.

The wallet takes days to sync 3 weeks worth of Tx's. Yet, I bet there are not that many going on.

Is this project left for dead?

Do you mean to update a previously sync'd wallet or to download the blockchain from scratch ?
The initial blockchain download could be optimized IMO.

I meant to update a previously synced wallet with maybe 6 months to a year of chain Tx's.

I remember you telling me about this in the Discord about 2 years ago. Sorry that you haven't had any luck getting your money back.

Hi DJC, effectively I managed to catch them myself very easily. I simply put the IP address they used into various trackers you can use online and they returned 'Privax Ltd' which owns 'Hidemyass' VPN.

I had the date and time logs from my email account and asked Microsoft for approved official logs. The Police then approached 'Hidemyass' and the their login times and web address visits were matched to a customer account. So at that point we had their names and whatever details were on their VPN account.

Sadly the Police messed it up. After some research, I warned them that 'Hidemyass' could delete all customer details after 3 months. They assured me the VPN company would keep all the details so it wasn't an issue. Then of course they just deleted the details after 3 months were up along with all their other customers. The reason being, the Police failed to get something called a 'single point of contact'. So despite assurances that they would keep the customers details, without the single point of contact they were entitled to delete them. So they did. Less bad press for them I suppose.

So their VPN lived up to their name.

I managed to catch some IP addresses on my email account trying to break in which the Police have followed up on, so the investigations continue.

They don't seem to be particularly good hackers. I just made it insanely easy for them.

My main hope lies for now on anyone who knows them stepping forward and taking a legit half share of what was stolen.

REWARD FOR THE ARREST OF CRYPTO THIEVES AND THE RETURN OF ASSETS

HALF OF THE FOLLOWING AMOUNTS WILL AWARDED IF REGAINED

4.912 BTC or 185,310.3 XBY(whichever is recovered)

23.02922 LTC

4109.871231 XRP

Please note: this is what was stolen. If a different amount, or different cryptos are recovered it must be divided exactly half each in those amounts and currencies

On the evening of Tuesday 23rd January, 2018 I had my Cryptopia exchange hacked and 185,310.3 XBY were traded into 4.912 BTC on my account before removal

4.912 BTC was removed from Cryptopia

21.9022 LTC was removed from Bitstamp

1.12 LTC was removed from Kraken

Whoever stole my crypto also saw my original reward message seen here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2725299.msg29401150#msg29401150

They also took the time to hack my Bitcointalk account, which I have now recovered. Then they used a Bitcoin Signed Message to authorise a new email address which has been removed from here. They were obviously scared enough that someone in the XBY community knows who they are and will point them out. It seems they wanted to prevent anyone contacting me here.

The "potential" reward if recovered - which is half (not including Tx fees or other costs) is:

2.456 BTC

11.51461 LTC

2,054.9356155 XRP

This is all presuming that BTC is recovered and not XBY, since that is what they finally removed from my account
I can only offer exactly half of what is regained in ANY crypto currency that is seized and no additional or personal costs can be included

I have a case running with the UK Metropolitan Police Cyber Crime Unit and have passed on details of all the thefts
If you know who these people are and can identify them, I am willing to sign into agreement with the Police that you will be entitled to exactly half of the sums recovered for your part in the recovery and arrest of these individuals

If you feel confident in knowing who these people are and can prove their actions through conversations or some other means (screenshots or otherwise) then send me a message here and we can discuss your reward, and also how to notify the Police. I will not share your identity and will keep ALL correspondence private between us and of course the Police

I look forward to your help, and to sharing whatever is recovered

Regards

It says the request expires in about 24 hours. Does that have anything to do with it? I don't think the copy/paste was wrong.

Hello,

I have had my account disabled since a hacker got access to it on 22nd January, 2018 and stole 1.1 LTC

I have sent my photo ID and have satisfied all the requests needed to reopen my account.

But suddenly Kraken is ignoring all emails for a month now.

Why are they not addressing the issue of my account being disabled?

BOUNTY ON THE HEAD OF WHOEVER STOLE MY CRYPTO

                                             90,000 XBY

                                               2050 XRP

                                                 10 LTC

Upon successful recovery of funds you will be awarded approximately 50% of my loss shown as the amount indicated above.

All sums must be recovered by myself first.

On the evening of 23rd January as I was at work, someone hacked my email address and requested new passwords to various exchanges. They then proceeded to remove 185,310 XBY....4109 XRP and 22 LTC

Yes I was stupid enough not to have 2FA on my email or even my exchanges. I have been in crypto since 2014 and never been hacked, so I got very complacent and thought it couldn't happen to me.

The Police have been notified and I will be visited by them on Saturday 3rd February to give full details of this fraud/theft.

What I think has happened:

1) Some pro's have got hold of my email address associated with bitcoin exchanges from the darkweb and hacked it, then tried their luck.

2) Someone in Slack and Discord has seen me chatting about my funds + email and targeted me.

I believe the latter has happened for the following reasons:

I have mentioned briefly to people what exchanges I use and what amount I had in them.
I put my email out in slack (as was requested) to receive XFUEL in return for BTC donations I made.
The hacker seemed XBY specific. He attempted twice to get into my CEX account. Once on the night on the attack and again the following morning.
A few other non-XBY exchanges were unaffected.

For any bounty hunters who know this person, I will be very discrete and we can arrange a payment settlement after their identity has been revealed and consequent arrest and retrieval of funds.

For anyone who think they can hunt him here are some details:

My email hacks:

My Bitstamp hack:

My Cryptopia hack:

BTC TXID 438e7b8012bb5270a038959e47d26e4de2f4becf80e7fcc0c29f6c05bd0b1612      WALLET 1JiurQJiUxTfv1A3Fc2xq8CQH5RYroW3g2

I would be very grateful for anyone who feels like dobbing in their "friend". Some LTC was a Christmas gift to a relative and not intended for their lousy thieving hands.

If you are the individual in question and you now fear your "friends" perhaps you would like to return the stolen coins and possibly avoid a hefty prison sentence for fraud. I imagine 5 - 10 years or worse if this is not your only crime.

XBY WALLET for return: B6hX4X5DrWBwYp9ufxqihVKHxJtKnY7n4p

XRP WALLET for return: rLHzPsX6oXkzU2qL12kHCH8G8cnZv1rBJh   DESTINATION TAG: 4271410631

LTC WALLET for return: LLjdrFH59x7A9v8v97mUJrxzek4kybgJ3D

I don't hold out too much hope but the world is a strange place and sometime you just can't believe your luck. Thanks in advance for any efforts made.

I just have to share this with anyone that wants to listen ...... I have been hacked for 4.5 million digibyte Cry Cry

I have absolutely no idea what has happened, but yesterday I did a sync of my digibyte core wallet installed on my computer, and when the sync was over, my wallet was empty.

I checked my wallet address DMHUZWvzfJwdiiivnbfkMW34LBmAt5r9Zv in the blockchain explorer and to my horror I realized that the transactions in fact had taken place.

What has happened? I have never given my private keys to anyone, my pc shows no sign og beeing hacked, its fully updated, have the newest antivirus. My wallet is also protected by a strong password. My pc wasn't online at the time of the transactions. Im a sysadmin and i know a thing or 2 about pc security,

How can this happen? can anyone help me to clarify what has happened before i jump screeaming out of the nearest window Cry

that is scary  Roll Eyes

They hacked your PC or were your coins on an Exchange? Does the digibyte wallet have a Debug Window>Console where you can do a "checkwallet" to see if the wallet needs to be or can be repaired?

You can see on the blockchain there were three separate transaction that moved the coins to other addresses. Either the OP has amnesia or someone close to him "borrowed" his DGB or he was indeed hacked.

I think it is impossible for those transactions to occur without access to the wallet. That's a lot of coins to lose. Maybe a dedicated secure PC must be used for very large coins such as that. A PC that is only used to sync the wallets or transfer coins to an exchange and nothing else.

Maybe the pc was hacked and the wallet copied and the password was brute forced, maby that is a possibility?? good advice with the dedicated secure pc. I have bourght myself a hardware wallet now.
Was your wallet completely emptied, then maybe so, if it was only one address involved unlikely.

edit: I'm going to assume Lawzt has me on 'ignore'.

Could you have downloaded a compromised wallet.exe with built in backdoors? What source did your wallet come from?

Miner dump coin - by the billion

poloniex has 644.928.553 dgb sell order
bittrex has 388.282.987 dgb sell order
and another exchanges not over than 100 million dgb
total = 1.133.211.540 dgb on market sell order

circulation supply is 9.516.382.139 DGB

if miner was dumping, why too small sell order on market?why?why?why?

I see a billion coins being dumped in total there. What makes you think miners aren't selling much?

What he means, is that miners can only mine around 4.7 million coins in a 24 hour period. There are obviously many more coins being exchanged on a daily basis so miners cannot be held responsible for selling too many.

When I say miner dump coin by the billion, I don't mean on a 24 hourly basis. I plucked that a bit from the air, so obviously some of the volume is normal trading selling. Overall this coin is very attractive to mine and dump, so I think it is largely responsible for the constant down trending.

Overall this coin is very attractive to hold for the long term, so I will stop crying and accumulate some more.

Right indeed.

Or you could stop wimpering over small words and find a more proactive coin to invest in and come back when this one is less of a dump-fest. Or in your case probably not...
