Re: Why we will see $50k Bitcoin end of year
by
MasterHam2
on 27/08/2018, 22:36:36 UTC
Strongly doubt about $50k this year. The market is unpredictable, but $50k is too much, anyway.
I don't believe we may see it grow significantly by the 2018 year-end.

Re: Day trade Vs HODL
by

on 27/08/2018, 22:29:43 UTC
It depends on many factors, I guess: availability of time; the coin you have; the market conditions; your experience, etc.
If, for example, you have a day job, your coin is BTC, and the market conditions are like the ones we have now, the safest option is Hodling...

Re: Buy ETH or not?
by

I guess, buying ETH is a good idea because it's the second-best coin following BTC. I also believe in smart contracts that would make ETH even more attractive in the long run.

Re: Day trade
by

You can do day trading if you have long time for trading but if you do not have any time for doing the trading then day trading is not for you. You can do another way of trading like long term trading cause in long term trading you just need to set the order book then wait for someone who will buy your order book. In day trading you need to be on eyes on the market price because you need to monitor the prices so that if the price pumps you will sell it right away.

You're absolutely right. Unfortunately, this is my situation, i.e. currently, I just don't have time for day trading, but if I did, I would most definitely give it a try.

Re: Always keep fiat while holding

It looks like most of us on this forum are hodlers and we are really more comfortable with hodling rather than taking a risk and doing some trading because of our lack of experience coupled with the current market conditions...

Re: What do you think, will BTC again jump in December?
by
MasterHam2
on 26/08/2018, 15:13:45 UTC
Although it doesn't look like it'll jump, personally I expect to see some rise with maximum not exceeding 12k at best. I'm going to be happy to be wrong and see another moon at 50k or 64k as some say, but it's more like a dream to me Cool
I'm ready to hodl as long as it takes.

Nope. I'm even prepared to wait past December 2018 because it doesn't look like moon this coming December. It would be great if it makes it to 12k by the end of the year, but you never know. I'm hoping for the better, anyways Cool

Re: HODL is not advisable!
by

on 26/08/2018, 14:53:47 UTC
In my very own experienced there is no good outcome when you HODL too much.
First of all do you know what HODL means?
HODL is used when referring to hold the cryptocurrency rather than selling it.
Holding cryptocurrency is no good because it means you don’t have a knowledge about trading, for me, you can do scalping trading and increase your holding by it and gain profit.
I suggest that all in the Crypto community must learn the basic trading fundamentals. There are free tutorials anywhere. Don’t be lazy, think big.
People have their own strategy and it is bad if you comment about what people want to do with their asset. If you really good in scalping so it is fit for you, but not means it will fit for other people.

I agree. People should make their own decisions as to whether to hodl or trade. Otherwise, they might make a lot of big mistakes by just listening to someone else's advice.

Re: Bitcoin Prediction : Dream or real ?
by
MasterHam2
on 26/08/2018, 14:47:28 UTC
It's not possible to reach Bitcoin 64k. Now Bitcoin price 6.6k but I hope end of 2018 Bitcoin reach 8-9k.
But prediction 64k it's not true it's just a dream

By year end we will have it more than 9k . It should be near 15k or so and still we have 4 months to go. Last year also in a time of 1-2 months the btc took rally and moved more than double and if it happens this year as well or something similar we should be near the 15k mark.

Yes, I agree. It looks like it's going to reach 12k or 15k at best by this year-end. I don't mind dreaming, but dreaming never helps, it only hurts when you find out you're living in a dream, while the reality hits you hard. We'd better be prepared for a more pessimistic scenario, I guess.

Re: Buy This Dip or Wait ?
by

on 26/08/2018, 14:41:03 UTC
I think waiting to buy is useless. If you are considering buying, maybe you should buy this dip because I don't think you will catch any significantly lower dip. However, I believe it should be your decision in the end because you are supposed to know what you're doing Cool

Re: Which one is a better investment Bitcoin Or Ethereum,
by
MasterHam2
on 26/08/2018, 10:42:16 UTC
This is a pretty tricky question in that it requires some background knowledge to get the idea of what the basis for making decision regarding investment is.

If you are interested in details, I recommend reading the following article from Forbes which might prove helpful in making your decision:
https://www.forbes.com/sites/bernardmarr/2018/02/05/what-is-the-difference-between-bitcoin-and-ethereum/#5833e61d7c70

For those who don't like reading a lot, here's a quote I find useful:

"... Ultimately, the long-term growth of any cryptocurrency (or indeed business) depends on useful applications being found for its assets.

If Bitcoin goes on to become a widely accepted form of currency, or the Ethereum network becomes an established standard for distributed computing, then the value of these assets is likely to continue to grow.

On the other hand, in technology, there is always something snapping at the heels of the front-runners. Newer and more efficient algorithms could replace either Bitcoin or Ethereum.

Additionally, both face the threat of government regulation. The value of many cryptocurrencies (including Bitcoin and Ethereum) have moved downwards since the start of the year, which has been attributed to threats of their trade being regulated by governments in China and Korea..."

Hopefully, that might help Wink

Thanks for the information!
I believe all we have to do is watch the development of both cryptos to make the right decision, but one thing is clear to me even now is that they both have been far better investments than the rest of the crypto so far.

Since ETH is second best crypto after BTC, along with their respective blockchains, I do believe it makes sense to buy some ETH. Although it might bring you a little less profit than BTC, it could still be pretty profitable as well Wink

Re: Don't worry, Bitcoin will be fine.
by
MasterHam2
on 26/08/2018, 10:25:09 UTC
What is important to keep in mind speaking of Bitcoin, is not Bitcoin itself, because it's kinda "by-product" to the blockchain. First, we must look at what is going on with blockchain, i.e. whether or not it is developing or dying, and then you can make some preliminary conclusions as to the viability of Bitcoin. Cool
Bitcoin will always be fine until blockchain is fine Wink

Re: Do you keep your coins physically secure?
by

on 26/08/2018, 10:15:38 UTC
Sure. A cold wallet (Ledger), 2FA, and other stuff, is a must, you know. I'm  not going to list all of the common steps and ways of protection because they are all available in this forum and on Google.
I know how risky it is to leave it in an online wallet or exchange, so I definitely choose to keep coins off-line in a physically secure place.

Re: FIAT promotes misery!: Bitcoin promotes prosperity!

6 words tell it all!
Countries that have failing currencies can tell you first hand!
It is not IF but WHEN the almighty US Dollar implodes!

In some way, you're right. I mean, when it comes to government fiat makes them richer and ordinary people get poorer. Bitcoin (as a part of blockchain) might promote more transparency making it impossible for the government to getting involved in corruption. Let's hope bitcoin and the underlying technology bring us a better chance for the real prosperity Wink

I'm not sure (whoever can be?), but it looks like bitcoin might go down even more, so it might be worth waiting... Not sure how long, though...
I wish I could travel to the future and back to be able to make the right decision Wink
