Just a small update from the team -- we have been in discussion with multiple individuals, groups, and companies that are interested in acquiring the CoinRecycler codebase and taking over responsibility for leading future development of MastCoin. Chris at Coin Proz is one of the interested parties, and we can confirm the legitimacy of the posts he's made here.

Hi.
Have you come to a deal with anyone regarding the future of MASTCoin?
Things look pretty bad now...

I finally had time to test the CoinRecycler and I can confirm what was said in some past posts: it does NOT work in the web NOR in the wallet... so maybe it is why nobody is buying the code...

It's a pity, the coin works very fine, it's fast and stakes well... maybe could be a good idea to release the portion of code you wrote and make it opensource for everyone to fix it and make it work properly.

For sure you have a lot of MAST in your wallet so if the coin start being what it was supposed to be, you'll have a big gain.
Think about it.

mass

We have not reached a deal with anyone yet. Unfortunately, the interested groups have all basically just wanted to hire us as a development team to work for them, which isn't what we're looking for at all.

Send us a message on bitcointalk if you're interested in actively developing MastCoin, having the community take over, or anything related.

The CoinRecycler service has been offline for a while, for the same reason that development on the coin has stalled - the development team simply does not have time to maintain it. The CoinRecycler code works well, but does need occasional maintenance, as it interacts with each supported coin's wallet locally and exchange APIs remotely.

All the code for the coin, including its interaction with the CoinRecycler service is open source and on Github. However, CoinRecycler itself is proprietary as we've spent a lot of time developing it. We're willing to discuss selling it or releasing it to an interested party that would take over continued MastCoin development, but are not currently planning to freely open source it.

As cryptomass mentioned, one good piece of news is that the coin itself continues to work perfectly and there are no issues with the blockchain, wallets, transactions, exchanges, etc.

hi dev please help me

Just a reminder, someone, anyone do some trading on bittrex otherwise it will be delisted!

They won't delist if you either contact them and let them know about the new developments, which should aid the coin soon. You can always ask Richie on the BITtrex IRC for an extension to let him know that the coin isn't dead, but just going through some new developments.

They will not delist a coin as long as it has at least 0.7 btc of volume in a 7 day period. We've ensured that we have exceeded that, with 0.85 btc of volume just today. Also, we've had at least that much over the preceding 7 days as well so we're well ahead of the 0.7 minimum to stay listed. We've definitely got things covered from the minimum volume perspective, no worries there.

Chris at Coin Proz is one of the interested parties, and we can confirm the legitimacy of the posts he's made here.

Ongoing development has admittedly stagnated and our team has failed to provide adequate communication recently for a variety of reasons. On a brighter note, the good news is that MastCoin's existing wallet code and network continue to be very reliable. We've reached block 208,122 as of the time of this post, and block times continue to average ~30 seconds/block.

Although our team hasn't been active publicly recently, we continue to operate both the block explorer and seed nodes for MAST to ensure the network's continued stability. We're also dedicated to keeping the coin from being de-listed from Bittrex.

Of course as always, we continue to welcome community involvement in developing services for the MastCoin ecosystem, will review/apply any pull requests to the wallet code via GitHub, and would be happy to support any other community-organized initiatives.

Come on guys that donation address is looking pretty empty D6awKC5L6iJJK6LMnCi5A2mQzjPS5RaqGB I'll match the next donation upto 1000mast to help get things going

Wait, so the next donation of 1000 will be matched at 2:1 then? 1:1 from haxalot2012 and 1:1 from the dev team!? Wow! This reminds me of MAST's SuperBlocks.. SuperDonations! Smiley

Unproductive commentary from etoque, kakp, and vir6 have been removed. The more they post in unison at the same time, the more obvious it becomes that they're probably sockpuppet accounts. We don't need that in our community.

We have some great news to announce!
As we mentioned a few days ago, we've been buying MAST on the open market to support the price and to fund several upcoming giveaway and bounty programs. We've accumulated a substantial amount of MAST to put towards those efforts so far, and are continuing to do so.

Our first project is going to be funding a large giveaway program.
We're going to start accepting donations from the community to help, specifically for funding the giveaway program. If you are interested, please donate MAST to the following address: D6awKC5L6iJJK6LMnCi5A2mQzjPS5RaqGB.

The development team will match community contributions at a rate of 1:1, up to 10,000 MAST.
Our goal for initially funding the giveaway program is to raise at least 20,000 MAST. If we can raise at least 10,000 MAST from community donations and 10,000 MAST from the development team's matching, it should be an easy goal to reach!

We'll be starting with a Twitter giveaway tomorrow, and then branching out to IRC, altcoin websites, and more.

Didn't take the time to read last 2 pages (I've read all teh others Tongue)

But if it has not been mentioned. I vote for silkcoin to be added to the recycler. I'd love to shove my coins through it. rather than sell em for pennies I'd be helping Mast.

So erm yeah, add SC. Not Soul Calibre, SilkCoin

SilkCoin is a great idea for an addition to CoinRecycler, thanks for the suggestion!

Have you seen all the tweets ?? i am really impressed

https://twitter.com/search?f=realtime&q=mastcoin

under  "Results for mastcoin" select "all"

and yes Lahroon SilkCoin would be really nice to recycle Smiley

We're been working a lot on our Twitter presence to help drive attention to MAST. In conjunction with our efforts to buy MAST on exchanges as we mentioned in our recent announcement, this seems to be working well so far. Everything is still ramping up, but things are looking a brighter for MastCoin this week.

has anyone ever played the ponzi game some coins have made? it works like this:

you put in x number of coins. then you have to wait until 20 other people have made a deposit, and you get back 20% more coins than you put in. once it stops getting people putting coins in, those people lose their coins. it's a gamble and everyone knows that at some point the deposits will stop being made and the last 20 people won't get paid out. but it's a fun game and can generate interest. but if you put in 500 mast...an hour later you'll have 550 mast. it's just mostly fun entertainment, i wonder if anyone here knows how to code the game. we should definitely do a different thread for it though, it will clog this one up hard.

It could be a nice game but you are risking your coins for a 10% reward, that's a bad idea. Like if you risk your coins for a chance to double them that will be great, like at the casino, but risking for 10/20% that's low as hell. Most people in crypto risk their btc for a chance to x3, x4.

have you seen the game in action though? it's actually more fun than you think. because everybody that has coins in is like come on people put coins in! it's a good way to increase popularity.

Ponzi games can be fun and a great way to grow the community, as long as they are run honestly and the operator doesn't run off with the funds! Several other coins have had problems with that, but the ones that have trustworthy game admins usually get a lot of users.

Announcement
We're happy to announce a new program that we've been working on. We recognize that the community has become increasingly concerned with the price of MastCoin over the past several days, and we are taking action. We are working to actively seek to improve the price of MAST with direct intervention into the market.

The Plan
We have begun buying up MAST on the open market, and will be continuing to do so. Because MastCoin is now PoS-only, any buys on the markets will help increase both trade volume and increase the price of MAST. Increased volume and price will grow the community and bring awareness to the coin, which will further increase the price and benefit everyone.

PR & Giveaways
We have wanted to do more PR and giveaways to promote MAST, as we've had success with that in the past. Because we did not have an IPO/ICO and only a minimal premine, which has been mostly used, we haven't been able to fund new giveaway programs recently.

A large portion of coins that we buy will be used to build a reserve of MastCoin for upcoming giveaways and promotional efforts. During launch week, we did a giveaway on Twitter which was extremely popular -- we'll be looking to repeat that success soon. Additionally, we will increase our giveaways via the IRC tip bot.

AltCoinToday also held a popular giveaway for us previously, and have offered to conduct more giveaways if we fund them.

After launch, we funded ThisWeeksCoin's promotion services from our team's own BTC accounts to help market and promote the coin, which proved to be successful and was part of the basis for the price rise to 0.0003. We're going to be looking into other similar promotion services again, as well as contacting PR agencies to pursue mainstream news media coverage.

Bounty Programs
As you've seen recently in this thread, we're working on generating ideas for both marketing and MastCoin ecosystem development projects. A portion of the coins will be used to provide the basis for funding bounties for these ideas. Once we have more concrete plans established, we'll also be creating a system to allow you to help donate to fund projects of your choosing.

Bonus Effect
Any coins that we buy now, at the currently undervalued prices, can be used in the future as if they were five, ten, or even hundreds of times the number of coins that we're buying! Giving away 10 MAST coins today for a bounty may seem unimpressive because of its relative BTC value; however, we hope to see the price rise significantly which will make every coin we buy today more valuable and useful for bounty rewards in the future.

It's really nice to see devs investing in their own coin, this definitely proves you believe in it and will not let it die.

I think making giveaways and giving bounty should come right after the coin recycler release, not before, because even with a good marketing, if the coin doesn't have something really unique people will not be interested.
i contacted vir6 in cloakcoin irc he told me of course he would give the 5k mast he got from the donation address for any giveaway or bounty...

Our team has invested heavily in MastCoin from the beginning. All told, our team has put well over 20 BTC into mining, funding development and promotion, and buying MAST on the open market for our own investment. This is a separate program from our own existing investments, with the specific goals we've mentioned above.

And yes, our plan is to work on a marketing push with giveaways to coincide with our large upcoming releases: MAST-MAST anonymous transactions, CoinRecycler GUI wallet, and more!

Hi, any update on the Coin Recycler ? last screenshot was 8 days ago...

We're still hard at work on the GUI wallet development, invall. It isn't easy, but we're making steady progress.

We have also been working on the implementation of MAST-MAST anonymous transactions, which is coming along very well.

To etoque and kakp, if you continue to offer nothing but distracting and pointless argumentative comments here, your posts will be removed from this thread. We welcome criticism, but it needs to be constructive, educated, and most importantly, on topic.

Here's a few:

MastSend
ShadowSend
PrivateSend
PrivacyTX
EnhancedPrivacy
UltraPrivacy

There is already darksend, cloaksend, libertysend, supersend... so i don't think MastSend would be good

MastAnon, MastGuard, SafeSend, PrivateSend.

One little advice, try to keep activity on twitter, it does not inspire confidence to see there is no new tweet for almost 1 week.
I haven't read what we are talking about, yet... But I like MastGuard...

We're discussing branding options for MAST-MAST anonymous transactions. It seems like it is best to separate that out from the "CoinRecycler" brand - those are some options we put out as an initial list to get the discussion started Smiley

Does anyone have additional suggestions for names?

A second PoW period is still under discussion, but it does appear to be the best available solution to growing the MastCoin community, barring a substantial change in the current situation. Keep in mind that if adding a second PoW period increases the size and involvement of the community, it likely will increase the value of each coin, regardless of any increase in the total number of coins.

One solution to reducing any potential impact from increasing the number of coins would be to keep the total number roughly the same by lowering the PoS interest percentage to compensate.

My initial guess would be that if there was a second PoW period, it would not have SuperBlocks, and it would take place over a longer timeframe than the first one.

I cannot speak for everyone but I can tell you it is very annoying when the terms of a coin changes....ie another PoW phase.

Coin liquidity and total available comes into play when making purchase decisions and all of the sudden when things change and significant amount of coins are released/availability increased then you are diluting the holdings of the initial supporters who are here for the specs originally set forth. IMO best to stick with the original idea and figure out other ways to expose the coin.

What if 42 coin became 42k coin or 42 million coin....would that be good?

Situations change, and coins either adapt or die. The original concept behind the coin was Mastiff, if you recall, but that was decided to be changed by the community as well. A change in coin cap makes sense, following the rebranding to MastCoin, because the only reason for such a low coin count was to fit the Mastiff theme of value and rarity.

A second PoW period is also likely to be the best chance at growing the MastCoin community. However, if we all decide to move ahead with a second PoW phase, anyone is obviously welcome to sell if they don't agree. There will not be an "all of a sudden" change, it would be announced well in advance.

I look at MastSend and there is nothing initially to separate it from the other coins you listed, it just looks like we are late to the party. Something like 'OmniSend' or such that would indicate the cross-blockchain ability would be my preference.

We're talking about names solely for MAST-MAST transactions, so there's no cross-blockchain there.

One little advice, try to keep activity on twitter, it does not inspire confidence to see there is no new tweet for almost 1 week.

That's exactly why MastSend is an option. Keeping the same nomenclature for like-functionality in products can be useful as it instantly helps your audience identify what you're offering. Having a unique name also has its benefits though, of course. "MastSend" isn't our top pick, but whether it is the best name or not is what's up for discussion Smiley

Our team's favorite of the names we listed and have seen discussed so far is probably PrivateSend, as it seems to best convey the idea we're trying to community. "MastCoin, now with PrivateSend(tm) technology!" sounds pretty good initially. But, we would love to see more brainstorming and suggestions from the community!

We're going to work on ramping up our Twitter activity. We can also consider scheduling tweets, if anyone here wants to take the lead on helping write up a bunch of tweets to schedule.

I've talked to IRL friends about your coin, and they were positively impressed by the potential of recycling a lot of shitty cryptos. When i said that actually the coin recycler can just recycle 5 coins, they were like "oh... only 5 coins... it's too bad that thing doesn't accept a lot more cryptos ! we have a lot of dust cryptos to evacuate from our old wallets"

I'm agree with them, let's add some more popular cryptos, even if the algo is Scrypt, X11 X13 etc it will be amazing as fuck !!
If it's too difficult for provisioning them, no prob, set a max amount !

And about the presence of devs, let's post more than one message a day and people will begin to think "hey... this coin is active, the dev is posting everyday !"
Even a "hi there" will provide more trust for users.

That's great feedback, keep up the good work mangodream Smiley

The goal isn't specifically to "recycle shitty coins", but to provide an exchange mechanism for MAST. CoinRecycler also provides the equivalent of CloakCoin's "CloakSend" (anonymous transactions via exchanges) to any other coin!

We'll soon be adding MAST-MAST support, probably under a new label to distinguish it from the existing "recycling" marketing. Does anyone want to get started with some ideas on names?

Here's a few:

MastSend
ShadowSend
PrivateSend
PrivacyTX
EnhancedPrivacy
UltraPrivacy
