You can buy some VEGAs, they are still very good and also currently pretty cheap.
Or some cheap RX 4xx/5xx they are very cheap, but ROI is still long with current prices.
You can try mine RYO, which is good with VEGAs and other 8GB AMDs, dev team is very skilled (dev team from XMR-STAK miner) and you can mine a lot of it now with expectation for better prices hopefully soon.

Vega is quite good for new cryptonight algorithms.

Why no love for probably the best mining GPU of all time, the Tahiti's (Radeon 7950/7970/280x) ?

I get like 600h/s with 1050/1650 @ 975mV ( about 125 watt from wall)

I used to mine LTC with these back in the day when they pulled like 350 Watt from the wall, each!

Is it more profitable to mine v7 than ZEC for the 7970?

I think that many altcoins will survive. There are good projects that can make people's lives much better. They must survive.

From observing the altcoin performance, 99.9% of them will not survive 6 years.

@Claymore, when do you think we'll see a new version? Its been almost a year since your last update. It would also be nice to have the lower dev fee that you promised. Thanks for all of your hard work, its much appreciated.

The ZEC hash rate is already very fast. not much to improve.

I feel like the bottom is near, we always have big dump in March so keep calm and hold you coin

I think the first quarter is usually bad. But the other three quarters are quite good. So please be patient. I still hold most of the altcoins like the ETH, ETC, Bitcoin Cash and XMR

Almost all my RIG is AMD card. From R9 290 and X series, 390 and X series, RX4xx and 5xx series. Especially RX580, currently used in the Ethash algorithm and still profit after calculating electricity bill.

Do you think it is better to mine the ETH or ZEC with the R9 390 cards? Which one will you use between the two?

I think that in the future the ethereum will switch to a new protocol of work, which excludes mining. If this happens, the owners of equipment for mining will be very unhappy.

They can mine other coins such as ZEC or ZEN.

some noob trying to cheat fee   Smiley

It could be virus.

Lame, I understand the frustration with the 2% fee, but no one should be trying to beat it. I’m sure Claymore has put hundreds of hours into developing this miner, it’s only fair that he receives compensation for his hard work. This is likely just a creative way to get greedy people and newbs to download a virus as someone else already mentioned. That being said, I have a couple questions:

@Claymore, how’s that new version coming along? It’s been about 5 weeks since your last post and I see that new versions of the XMR and Dual Miner have already been released.

@Claymore how much ZEC would be required to bribe you into making some improvements for Tonga chips, specifically the R9 380x in this release? Being a budget miner with a six R9 380x rig I need to squeeze as many hashes as I can out of it as it consumes a very power hungry 1000 watts. Is there anyway to increase the hashrate on these to be greater than 225 h/s?

I think the ZEC miner is already very efficient.

HAHA I am done with these joke names. They can't even think a better name for this coins. Another nearly a replica of eth i will never invest in it i think only if it becomes succesfull Smiley of course.

I think that it will be so dark that people will not invest in it.

I agree. There is no need for dark ETH.

I am definitely "crying" right now because when I bought SIA, it was just above 105. I thought to myself at the time, hey if it even goes back to 150, I make a nice 45% profit almost. Now, I'm more than 45% in loss. I have no idea when these alts will ever recover. I think a lot of us people are completely regretting giving up our Bitcoins for alts. Sure, we did not lose much fiat value because BTC is just upping, but we lose profits, and we will lose Bitcoin Gold.

Maybe there is no need to worry. Most coins are dropping now.

Another new cryptocurrency just rise from the dark side. And they call it "Ethereum Dark".

Just like Bitcoin has a dark side which is the "Bitcoin Dark". and we are expecting that the success of Ethereum might affect the dark side of it and this will be the time to take our opportunity and advantage to follow the dark side.

Bitcoin Dark rises heavily on the market and if Ethereum Dark will be on the same path..It might be our time to RISE and make our stepping stone to the MOON.

Current value of Ethereum Dark: $0.873560

Do you mean you can use that coin to do dark smart contract?

has anybody thought about using the heat as an advantage , lets say for

"growing strong potent smelling plants" , im not sure about the forum rules but you can read between the lines

I think the heat from GPU mining is not enough to grow that kind of plant. The humidity is not right.

I maxed out 100A service in a 525sq.ft. studio.  6x 6-card 1070 rigs, 6x 7-card 470 rigs.  If I wanted to use the stove I needed to switch out the server PSUs.  If I wanted to use the microwave I needed to shutdown a 470 rig.  I wore heavy-duty noise canceling headphones during the day and slept with earplugs in.  I made it through fall, winter and spring in Chicago.  Obviously I never turned on the heat.  Once the outside temperature started getting above 60F in spring it would get to about 80F inside despite the massive fans and airflow I had setup.  I made enough money in 9 months of living like this to buy a house and scale up.

Is it possible?  Yes.  Does it come with sacrifices?  Yes.  You decide if it's worth it.

That is pure dedication.  Good on you man

I think he is joking.

Re: Claymore's Ethereum Mining NoDevFee v7.1
by
Mastker
on 22/07/2017, 14:32:49 UTC
I think patch is working. I do not know if some share goes to some other place but definitely it increased my earnings.

Here is my calculation, I am not sure if I am correct but let me explain.

i am using 4 gtx 1070 with dual mine eth and sia. I am getting about 123 eth hashrate and 2260 Sia hashrate.

Before I use the patch. My average effective hashrate was 115.0 and estimated earnings was 1.08873 eth per month.

Now with these rates (115.0 and 1.08873) when my average hashrate increases to 117.9 I would get estimated earnings = 1.11618. (117.9*1.08873/115.0) ( if i did not have the patch)

However now after patch my ethmine dashboard shows my average effective hashrate = 117.9 and my estimated earnings = 1.13727.

As you see 1.13727 - 1.11618 = about 0.02. So it is giving you back your 2% devfee fee.

I am not sure it is coincidence but I also experience visible increase in my current effective hashrate.

So the speed is the same before and after patch. The patch does not work. He is still stealing.

Hi

It's strange because I'm running the R9 280x and RX 570 in the same pc, I had a monitor plugged in on the performing Gpu will the other Gpu was underperformin. I tried for days to fix it and decided to plug another monitor in on the under performing Gpu and that fixed my problem. Took the monitor out afterwards and both GPU's are performing well now.

Thanks for everyone's help.

Dukebit

Did you restart the computer afterwards?
