Re: Creating more bitcoin
by

Is there anything to stop the core devs saying we want unlimited bitcoin and changing the code to allow it.  I mean, 21 million isn't much.  Smiley

Bitcoin is a digital currency that became popular in 2013. This currency is not controlled by banks or other institutions.

But it is controlled by the devs that write the code that implements it.  Don't kid yourself it came out of thin air and magically looks after itself.  All a fork is, is someone who writes the code thinking they have a better way of doing it.

They manage the code but nothing is implemented without consensus so their "control" has a check at the moment.

Code changes are very slow and methodical at the moment.  There is a reason for that.

That is why BCH and BSV went on their own way, they wanted bigger blocks and the 'core' could not come to an agreement.

I kind of like Mayor Pete.

I think he has all the characteristics one usually looks for in a Prez.

-Intelligent
-Honest (as much as a politician can be)
-Confident
-Not over-promising like the others
-Man of faith
-Talks about the future vision he sees for country (not 4 or 8 years down the line but for decades)
-Effective communicator
-Served in the Armed Forces

He does lack a certain fire though or that charisma that today's society really looks for.  This is based on the past 12 years.

So lets see what happens.

....
In what quantities do you believe people (not using aliens to demonize them) who came to the country illegally are voting?  What %?  Enough to swing an election?

If it is so rampant how are Republicans in power at all?

First of all, fuck your lame attempt to be polite and nice and not offend anyone.

The term you are looking for is "illegal alien." Just one example...

https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0261379414000973

....specifically, they write, "Noncitizen votes likely gave Senate Democrats the pivotal 60th vote needed to overcome filibusters in order to pass health care reform and other Obama administration priorities in the 111th Congress."

Specifically, the authors say that illegals may have cast as many as 2.8 million votes in 2008 and 2010. That's a lot of votes. And when you consider the population of illegal inhabitants has only grown since then, it's not unreasonable to suppose that their vote has, too.

Was this attack really necessary?

They are people just like you and me.   No imaginary line should make them different.  Get over yourself.

Also.  ""Noncitizen votes likely gave Senate Democrats the pivotal 60th vote needed to overcome filibusters"?

Not enough evidence to be conclusive..but ok.

Kind of like Russia.

Pay no attention to the millions of foreign nationals being allowed to flood over our border to manipulate voting demographics. What is important is Russia bought $2000 worth of Facefuck ads!

They can't vote so what are you talking about.

It is illegal for them to vote*

There, I fixed that for you.

Oh you are one of those conspiracy theorists I see.

So do not focus on Russia influencing the election because it favored your side but all of a sudden you are worried about Google doing the same thing.   Wonder why?

Ah, ad hominem attacks, the last bastion of those without any logical argument. It is a fact that illegal aliens are voting even though they are legally prohibited from doing so. This is the main motivation behind issuing them drivers licenses, because many states automatically add people to the voter registration rolls when they apply for one. Russia isn't shipping millions of people into the country to vote. Russia also does not have the power to almost completely silence 50%+ of the population.

In what quantities do you believe people (not using aliens to demonize them) who came to the country illegally are voting?  What %?  Enough to swing an election?

If it is so rampant how are Republicans in power at all?

Cold Storage man.

If you were not planning to sell soon that is the only way.

You can always transfer quick to a exchange if you need to sell them...but never keep em on web wallets!

This guy is up to something.  Had gone dormant since 2012.

Post in January about how BTC is not the future and Ethereum and altcoins are.

And now says Nakamoto agrees to talk to him when he has gone so out of his way to stay hidden.

Color me a deep skeptic on the motives.

Re: $1,000,000 would kill bitcoin
by
Mastrhiggins
on 25/06/2019, 15:57:59 UTC
Even $100,000 would kill it.  If 1 sat (or even 100 sat) == $1 then the fees would grind the system to a halt.  The fees would be so high relative to the amount sent, that it wouldn't be worth it.  From an investment perspective 1 sat==1$ is a nice round number.  From a users perspective, only being able to buy things divisible by 1$ is crap.

you are bad at math, can't take you seriously.

People of BitcoinTalk, Rejoice;

Satoshi has been found.

The Path to Satoshi is simple.

It is within this private key, though now that I understand how to find it I doubt any of you will:

49616D5361746F7368694E616B616D6F746F2B36323832313434343135343530

I have talked with Satoshi over the phone, and he has told me he is open to me communicating with him (he said once or twice a month).

I invite the community to give me a set of our most important questions to him that I will present during our next call.

I also invite the community to select an ambassador who I will invite Satoshi to speak with in a way that is safe for Satoshi.

I do not know how he will feel about me posting this, and I get the impression he simultaneously desires recognition for what he has done, and is afraid of what that recognition could mean.

Satoshi is not Craig Wright. Satoshi does not still have the private keys to his wallets.

Long Live Satoshi,

Bitcoin is definitely spewing out WAY TOO much carbon dioxide and is going to kill us all.  Can't fix it either because the entire notion of blockchain requires competitive mining.  It is only going to get much worse as Bitcoin value increases.  Total ruin.

I really think this is the death knell for Bitcoin.

Hah...Bitcoin is going to kill us all.

Not the 100 of years of car emissions that have caused global warming.   Ok there RawDog.
Once alternatives becomes cheap enough you will see massive solar farms, wind farms and hydro power the bitcoin network.

Stop with the FUD dude.

^^^ Much science theory discredits itself.

Science is full of guesses. They should focus on practical stuff.

Cool

Not guesses, theories that have some consensus agreement.

You don't find it ironic that you are typing out your anti-science beliefs on something that was only made possible by scientific discovery?  The internet.

Re: Why do Atheists Hate Religion?
by

on 20/06/2019, 18:56:55 UTC

God had the Bible written to save people, not because people or their loss do anything to God. It was simply His good nature directed towards people.

These are facts that science isn't capable of easily observing, yet.

Cool

Because they are not facts, they made up logic to pretend the existence of a supreme being.

Why do atheists hate religion? Because atheism is a hoax.

Cool

As opposed to a supreme being that is a figment of everyone imagination and takes a tremendous leap of faith to believe in?  Ok.

I'll stick with science and facts.

That makes no sense what so ever.
When debit cards and credit cards are used everywhere, there will be no cash/currency. Money will be digital

We are basically there today.

If CASH was banned and only credit cards and bank accounts were used that would also largely resolve the problems.  No talk of dumping cash but it really is an obsolete concept compared to BTC.

Cashless society = Digital money. Bitcoin will be in real trouble.

That makes no sense what so ever.

I would love to understand on how exactly they plan on banning it?

Bitcoin is famous for money laundering. Bitconnect used bitcoin for $14 billion ponzi. All eyes are on Bitcoin

That was not a Bitcoin issue, it was a BitConnect issue.

Any Madoff ran a $64B ponzi with USD...not sure your point?

They can't ban BTC

Bitcoin Threatens To 'Take Power' From The U.S. Federal Reserve

Bitcoin has long been called a threat to the existing financial system and the central banks that run it—though these claims have in the past been largely fringe ideas. The bitcoin price, now hovering around $8,000 per bitcoin, double what it began the year at, is often closely tied to public awareness of cryptocurrencies and the latest bitcoin bull run beginning in early April re-started the public debate on bitcoin.

Now, U.S. Democrat Congressman Brad Sherman has urged his colleagues to consider banning bitcoin and cryptocurrencies due to the threat they pose to U.S. international financial power, saying bitcoin needs to be "[nipped] in the bud."

https://www.forbes.com/sites

I would love to understand on how exactly they plan on banning it?

All this is doing is reinforcing that Bitcoin has power globally.   Bullish.

Wonder who his top contrib.....oh
