There were times when I needed to use Google Chrome with Counterwallet but have since uninstalled it and would rather not reinstall it for one web site.
The Clearwallet/VIA fork works in Safari fine for me. Safari 10 is a fairly modern browser, am I really stuck here?
Chrome is the only officially supported browser. Sorry.

Re: [ANN][XCP] Counterparty - Pioneering Peer-to-Peer Finance - Official Thread
Does Counterparty allow smart contracts at the current state of development? If so, is there already a project which uses those smart contracts in production or at least on testnet stage?
Smart contract will go live on testnet pretty soon, no date though. They're not live yet.

Re: [ANN][XCP] Counterparty - Pioneering Peer-to-Peer Finance - Official Thread
Would it be possible to know if the ethereum machine will be available on testnet before December? Would like to free up some extra cash for christmas not available before the new year. Thank you.
There will be an update coming out later today on the progress and you can view past updates as well at: http://counterparty.io/news/
It seems likely that it will be out well before December, but making predictions on blockchain tech releases isn't the business I'm in. I'd suggest joining the Counterparty Slack channel, reading the updates, and trying to make your own determination.
Can we calculate the scalability then? Like calculating the XCP inflation rate against the burning costs for deploying a smart contract on top of Counterparty. Would be interesting to know.
From your link:

The first thing that comes to mind as the simplest solution to the "XCP running out" problem is to set a gas rate that's directly proportional to the remaining supply with the lower limit set to 0.00000001 XCP and rounding to the nearest 8 decimal places.
What will be the starting price then? How much XCP is needed for creating (1) a short and (2) a long smart contract?
Thanks a lot!
I don't have answers to much of this, however, XCP is deflationary not inflationary. The supply only decreases and no new XCP will ever be made, smart contracts will only speed this process up.

What does this mean? Will there be EVMparty token which is burned from xcp?
XCP will be burned to power smart contracts and prevent spam, thus decreasing the total supply of XCP over time. There will not be a new token that's burned in place of XCP. It's just XCP being burnt to execute smart contracts.

Re: [ANN][XCP] Counterparty - Pioneering Peer-to-Peer Finance - Official Thread
Hi guys, I tried buying some of the blockfreight tokens and it asks for my counterparty wallet. I have one since a few years but has been rarely used. Now some things seems to have changed in the past regarding the web address of counterwallet: i try to log in in the wallet in https://wallet.counterwallet.io/# but after giving it my passphrase nothing happens at all, not even an error message.
The suggested support link sends me to a web adress that is unsecure according to firefox: https://forums.counterparty.io. What am i doing wrong here ?
Thanx in advance
Thank you for reporting this. I've passed it on and both issues will be corrected shortly.

This has been solved in the development branch which will be merged soon. Here's a post on Reddit about it, you can also join the Counterparty Slack channel for easier communication and quicker updates.

Quick question guys, when tokens are made and you pay the 0.5 xcp fee. Which burn address does it go to? I'd like to find out exactly how much XCP has been burned thus far in the system. Thanks guys.
EVM is expected to go live on testnet in about a month and then mainnet a couple months after that, once testing has been done.
Any estimates as to when we will get to play with the testnet EVM fellas?
Ruben was delayed as his company was acquired. He's working on it now, I think, and recently said in Slack that he's adding a few things to make it easier to play with on test net. I don't have a timeline, but I think we're fairly close.
