Yeah I've been mining on there for a fortnight and everything has been good, including fast unlocking of account via email when I entered wrong PIN, automatic payout to Cryptsy & manual payouts to Cryptsy & wallet were fine, that "calculating block payout" message can get annoying though...

The only people being paid in relation to this coin are Max Keiser, his two little cronies, the people taking commissions from exchanges and whoever was somehow able to mine a few, anyone buying is a massive sucker! Everyone is dumping and rightly so.
Their official site hasn't even been working for at least the last half hour (who knows how long), not that there is anything of value on it, such as a GUI Windows wallet. I did manage to find one hidden in the interwebs, not sure it's the official one or the one programmed by someone else that they stole.
In relation to mining MaxCoin, I think the analogy of putting your hands deep into a big pile of steaming shit is quite apt.
