Agreed. this could take a long time to sort out and more exchanges will appear in the mean time. It would not be in Coinlab's interests to kill the golden goose.

I've seen it time and time again. Even a couple hundred BTC up for grabs can cause a mini-panic.

Yup. Bought a few at $128 today. Now back to $198.

The Bitcoin platform is peer-to-peer, meaning, that Bitcoin QT must sync with numerous computers. Just allow any connections in Little Snitch (which I also use).
