Re: PhoenixMiner 5.6d: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Win/Linux)
by

The new beta version is finally ready. You can download PhoenixMiner 5.7a from here:

PhoenixMiner_5.7a_Windows.zip (GitHub)
PhoenixMiner_5.7a_Linux.tar.gz (GitHub)

The new features in this release are:

  • Added lock core clock
  • The problem with the missing GPU temperatures on Nvidia GPUs is fixed
  • Added native kernels for AMD RX6700 GPUs. These are faster than the generic kernels and produce a lot less stale shares
  • Increase the max supported DAG epoch to 550 (should be enough to about Jan 2023)
  • Full support for setting clocks, fan speeds, voltages, and memory timings of AMD RX6900/6800/6700 cards
  • The specific hashrate is now shown in the form of kilo hashes per joule (kH/J). Example: if a GPU has hashrate of 30 MH/s with 100W power usage, the specific hashrate is 300 kH/J
  • Added new command-line parameters -ttj and -ttmem, allowing automatic fan speed control based on GPU hotspot (junction), and memory temperatures respectively. Example: -ttmem 83 will keep the GPU memory temperature at or bellow 83C by increasing the fan speed as necessary. These parameters can be combined with -tt, as well as with each other. These options are supported only on AMD GPUs that report junction and memory temperatures
  • Added new command-line parameters -tmaxj and -tmaxmem, allowing to decrease the GPU usage when the GPU hotspot (junction), or GPU memory temperatures are above the specified thresholds. These options are supported only on AMD GPUs that report junction and memory temperatures
  • Added support for AMD Windows drivers 21.3.2, and 21.3.1
  • Added support for AMD Linux drivers 20.50.x. Use this drivers only if you have Polaris or older GPUs, or the latest RX6x000 GPUs. WARNING: Vega, Radeon VII, and Navi GPUs won't work with these drivers!
  • Turn off the zero fan feature on AMD cards whenever a fixed fan speed is used (e.g. -tt -40), or when an auto fan with min fan speed is used (e.g. -tt 63 -minfan 35). To disable this feature, add -fanstop 1 command-line parameter
  • When -mcdag 1 is specified under Linux, the miner will not wait for the daggen.sh script to finish before starting to generate the DAGs. Instead it will for a fixed 7 seconds. This allows you to do all the following in the daggen.sh: turn off the overclocking of Nvidia GPUs, sleep for 30-60 seconds to allow time for DAG generation, and then re-apply the overclocking of the Nvidia GPUs
  • Other small improvements and fixes

The support for -ttj, -ttmem, -tmaxj, and -tmaxmem for Nvidia 3090 and 3080 GPUs is not yet ready for release. We hope to have it ready for the final 5.7 release.

For more robust integrity check, you can use our GPG public key, which was verifyed with ETH transaction from our main devfee account as explained here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2647654.msg56755869#msg56755869.

Please let us know if you have any problems or questions related to PhoenixMiner 5.7a.

Be careful not to hurt the innocent, the last merit I earned was from vapourminer and that's 120 days ago, my account was opened in 2017, every tokens I earned was sold to a seller on telegram that buys tokens at better price even before trading starts, I'm not the only one who sold token to him, I work hard to get here don't trample on the weak because you want to rank up, do diligent research

⭐ Merited by vapourminer (1)
dunno, just check several services announced on Exchanges forum section where they don't accept gambling money so I became curious about the reasons...
I don't understand, do gambling money have a stamp or sign on them that the exchanges will know it's gambling money? I don't quit get your point here, what type of money are you trying to deposit and on which exchange? This days we have decentralized exchanges or P2P platforms that can people can use

All altcoins that can be mine using hard disk or ssd are not Profitable anymore that's why you don't see people rushing to such coins this days, it's better to stick to normal proof of work algorithm if truly you are serious about mining, go out and get yourself a used desktop with enough pcie slots and buy graphics card starting from RX470 to RX5700XT for AMD or gtx 1060 to RTX variants for Nvidia

It means you are running a old desktop that only supports legacy bios mode, you need to go back into Rufus and reflash the Windows ISO in the usb drive and this time change the partition into MBR, if you look into the Rufus settings you will see that it's at PGT or something that starts with the P, change it to MBR and reflash and reload the OS using boot menu, it will work

Should I be worried or not?
by

How many rejected shares one got to be worried about? I'm using NBminer to mine Ethereum on nicehash pool so far I got 78 accepted shares and 9 rejected shares, should I be worried? Phoenix miner latest upgrade lower my hashrate that's why I switch to NBminer, seem more stable, I don't overclocked my gpu and it's temp is below 58°C

The problem with new Asics miners is they come with very low memory, how long will one have to run this baby to get ROI and keep making more money? That's the most important thing here, I'd rather buy 8gb cards because I'm sure this ASIC miner will cost alot, 8gb cards will last me for years to come

Re: Eth lucky shares?
by

depending on your hashrate you can get a reward between a month or six, if solo mining and not in a pool, maybe even more now when the network difficulty significantly increased.
Highly not recommend because it will take more than months to solve a block in solo mining, do not try this unless you have a farm that consists of Terahash Ethereum hashing power, you can still solve lucky blocks in pool mining but do not concentrate on that

Re: {Warning}: Many 2FA hardware are vulnerable to attacks
by
Maxstl007

2FA authentication may have it's flaw and not 100% secured like some used to say but using 2FA is more safer and secured than not using anything at all, it's why many crypto exchanges compulsory 2FA, you can't make withdraws on some exchanges if you don't active 2FA code first.

I've never seen anyone using egpu to mine before, can't even find a video about it anywhere, it's a shame you don't have a compatible device to put this to test, I really want to see how it will work, what a waste

How do you increase the ranking for beginners?
please guide because I am still a beginner  Huh Huh Smiley Smiley
because I don't know what to do
Why would a newbie focus on ranking up fast? It's wrong move and it can lead to practising means on ranking up that's against the rules of this forum, learn about crypto is why you are here I guess? Start engaging in good conversations and make good contributions you will get ranked up when you least expected

Re: What percentage of your total assets would you rather invest in bitcoin?
by
Maxstl007
on 29/01/2021, 06:34:35 UTC
To avoid been panic whenever bitcoin dumps in value the healthy amount of percentage should be 10% or 15%, this can make you hold for long term even if Bitcoin isn't in good shape because you invested only what you can afford to lose which I recommend everyone to do

If the gpu have bios switch on it you can use that to go back to Stock instead of reflashing stock bios again, I'm not sure if all RX580 versions carries the switch on them but I do have one here that does, goodluck

mine seems to run at 88c, which is nice.  runs cooler than those 5700s...
Are you talking about RX5700 or the RX5700xt? I'm trying to buy some cards right now and I don't want any heat issues that will short the life span of my gpu, maybe I should get the RX5500XT instead? I plan to use this for over 5 years in future

I'm finding it hard to make a decision here, I need your opinions, I was lucky to find a store in my country that have high number of graphic cards from RX580 8gb to RX5500XT and RX5700xt for cheap price, I believe the seller have got the cards before their price skyrocketed, the RX580 8gb for 250$, RX5500XT for 280$ and the RX5700xt for 570$ , which one is the best to go for if you are in my shoes ??

You need the ETH pill to improve your hashrate for that card but why gtx 1080? Because I'm sure the price will be high and a RX580 with 8gb video memory performance is more like gtx1080 when mining Ethereum, anyways the choice is yours

Dusts can actually cause problems so don't do that if you are from such area, it's better to get bad inside your home and get an extra cooling fan that use less watt power, they are very affordable I believe

The major rule of mining coins is creating enough air flows for cooling, if that balcony gives better air flow I don't see anything wrong here unless you are living is a very dusty area, you know what I mean? Those place where it's too sandy that you can visibly see dusts on your things

Re: Is the new cryptocurrency PI Network another scam or legit?
by
Maxstl007

PI Network have tarnished their own image even if they are real and have something good in mind, all their ways are bad from the beginning, a very long time delay, spamming on forum with new accounts, also I would like to ask why KYC for mining? I have never seen this in crypto space before, is PI Network centralized? Or decentralized.

If you don't get married, you don't invest, you don't have a job your life will be the most boring and there will be no single happiness in you, it's only a matter of time before you start feeling what you've lost, all these advice are misleading
