Re: Klondike - 16 chip ASIC Open Source Board - Preliminary

It's all a big guess for now.
Also, there seems to be no schematics for the Klondike design, which makes it very hard to troubleshoot or check for the community.
I'm very surprised nobody asked for the schematics before (except for me, but no answer from the designer).
It doesn't give me a good feeling.

ARE YOU SERIOUS? The guy is putting INSANE amounts of work into this, and has stated that he doesn't want to release anything until it's tested. What are you implying by "It doesn't give me a good feeling"? If you aren't on board, then find another project. The guy's busy, is sticking with what he already stated he would do. And just because he doesn't spoon feed you, you're gonna start getting weird?  Roll Eyes

I know he's putting al his time into this, and I now understand he doesn't want to release the schematics before a working product.
It's not about spoon feeding, we all would like to contribute to this and I would like to do my share.
"It doesn't give me a good feeling", sorry, wrong choice of words from my side.
At least now I know why the schematics aren't released yet, but that they will be released in the future.

Hi BkkCoins,

I have been following this thread for a while now, is there any chance that you will also post the schematics?
The KiCAD files are nice but somewhat hard to read, like you I'm also a Eagle user.
Thanks

Unfortunately its not
I need the file that displays all the lines, I have no use for the design itself.
I need to know how the PIC processor is connected to the ASIC's
Thanks for your help though Smiley

Hi all,

would someone be so kind to post a reply in the Klondike thread asking for the Klondike schematics.
I only have 6 posts at this moment and are unable to ask the question myself.

Re: Crowdfunding a 10.000 Avalon ASIC batch

The main reason for me would be because I'm a newb and have 0 BTC at this moment
I'm also only interested in BTC IF I can make some money with mining, which all depends on time.
when the whole ASIC development takes to much time, say another 12 weeks I think we will all be to late because of the fast rising difficulty
I do not want to buy the chips with BTC, I'd rather spend USD for the chips, I don't want my money to be stuck in BTC.

You can not buy a loaf of bred with BTC yet Smiley

The problem is Avalon only takes BTC for the chips, We can't crowdfund with BTC.
I also think it is best to wait until there is a solid design available.
Buying 10.000 chips would cost about 150.000 USD

Hi all,

I was wondering if anybody would be interested in a crowdfunding on Kickstarter or Indiegogo for 10000 Avalon Asic chips.
The chip information was posted today on GIT so we could see some boards coming for these chips really soon.

Hope to hear from you.

Hi all,

My first post here.
I just want to inform you all that the reference of the Avalon chip is finally online.
It was placed on Github about an hour ago.
https://github.com/BitSyncom/avalon-ref
Since I am unable to post but here I would like someone to inform user BkkCoins about this since he (and others) are working on a board for these chips.
Thanks.

Cheers
