Check out the latest Storj dev update:

Development Update #3 from Storj Labs

https://blog.storj.io/post/176241778218/development-update-3-from-storj-labs

I'm glad to hear that something is happening in there.

A lot is going on right now, actually there is more going on than ever before. As you can see from https://github.com/storj/storj they are working around the clock on network V3.

Thanks for the info, I added myself too.

Can anyone help me with loging in to the Storj Community website?
I get: User account has not been activated when i try to login
When i try to reset my password there is only an error.
Posted 3 times to the support and nobody replied.

Email support@storj.io sometimes they manually activate new users to avoid scammers and spammers.

Already done that 2 times Sad

Hang in there!, they will get back to you as soon as possible.

Hi

I have a lot of bandwidth at my house, a 200mbit fiber optic connection

I can only spare 1000gb of storage but I could upload quite some data

Will your software try to utilize my bandwidth instead?

Thanks
Hi!, in the future storj will benchmark nodes so for example certain files that will be downloaded many times and require high speed farmers will be given only to farmers that meet these requirements, so in that case, yes, you will mostly make a profit from uploads. Though this is on the roadmap, so it will take some time before we get there, right now you are selected equally compared to other nodes on the network which will result in lower payouts than you will get later.

Hi,

New to Storj. How do you know if you are earning tokens on the GUI. Thanks

Hi!

You can't check that, payouts are once a month in STORJ tokens if you qualify for a payout (storing at least 1 GB of data). Please upload a screenshot of Storj Share, thanks.

I have Sjcx on Poloniex.
Do I need to convert them  or they will be converted automatically on Poloniex?
Thanks
Hi,
Please convert them yourself ASAP, the converter will be closed today!!, https://docs.storj.io/v1.1/docs/migrate-tokens-from-sjcx-to-storj

I bought SIA at 600 sat - beat that whiners!  Cool

Every time I think it can't be lower than it is, but chart proofs opposite and surprises me that it is possible...to be lower...I don't know how much time it will take to recover till July price, any thoughts?

Hey, I'm buying here because STORJ appears to be in complete disarray + Polo gonna start the circular pumps again...
But you are not gonna see $400 million valuation again until actual CTOs start putting actually important data on the network.

Right now p2p storage market penetration is still effectively zero after 3 years of *** repeating the same talking points ***.
Not sure what you are talking about, Storj just hired 6 new people, a new integration was announced yesterday and we reached the 6PB of used space milestone.

Help please  Smiley
I installed Storj share software before 2 days and have over 100 connections...
but I didnt receive any offers and its zero. Do I need to setup something manualy or just need to wait? Thanks

Hi!, offers have been deprecated in the SIP6 activation. A GUI update will be available soon which replaces the offer filed with ALLOC.

The official statement:

A few hours ago SIP6 was activated on the bridge. You can read everything about SIP 6 here: https://github.com/Storj/sips/blob/master/sip-0006.md
In short: Farmer are not sending OFFER anymore. On api.storj.io/contacts/insert_your_nodeID_here you will notice a new information `lastContractSent` . The bridge will select the farmer with the lowest number, update the number and send an alloc message. Your farmer will respond to that alloc message and get the shard as upload or mirror.

The alloc message itself is not visible on the farmer logfile. I will fix that.
Daemon and GUI are still showing an offer counter. That counter is useless now. We don't have a good replacement at the moment.

All farmers: Please make sure you are NOT using a Bittrex ETH deposit address as farmer payout address.

Important announcement for all Storj Share Farmers: It has been brought to our attention that there are thousands of payout addresses that are in fact Bittrex ETH deposit addresses. Bittrex has to manually move the STORJ tokens for these thousands of addresses to the corresponding correct STORJ deposit address of each of these accounts. I urge those of you that have mistakenly specified an ETH deposit address from Bittrex to immediately correct this by switching to a proper STORJ address, which should be an address from a wallet that is compatible with ERC20 tokens such as myetherwallet, mist or parity. Please abstain from using incorrectly specified exchange deposit addresses. If you continue to do so, Bittrex staff will most likely stop being so nice and moving the funds for you every month to the correct STORJ address on their exchange, and you may end up losing your payouts entirely, or at the very least, have to file support tickets with Bittrex every month and ask them nicely to please move the STORJ tokens to the right STORJ wallet, and they may decide to make you wait a long time until they get around to doing this, or not do it at all. It is costing them eth transaction fees to make these thousands of TXs every month to do those of you a big favor that did not follow instructions. Please do the right thing now before the next payout and correct your payout addresses.

How can a project like STORJ grow if it still trades under a discontinued blockchain (SCJX)
It should be first priority to eliminate the old blockchain
No excuses please

It has nothing to do with excuses, its technically no possible to just take everyone's SJCX tokens and convert them to the new token, unless you have a nice quantum computer to brute-force everyone's private key. That is for people that have SJCX on their wallets. Secondly, nor Storj or any commercial entity has the right or ability to force a exchange to change their policy or behavior. So if you want the SJCX token to not be traded anymore, ask poloniex and any other exchange still trading it. Storj Labs has been in contact with poloniex to handle the transition, this process is still ongoing.

why is this project just getting to yobit

it has nothing to do with Storj, its Yobit that just added Storj. On what exchanges a token is doesn't translate 1:1 what is going on with the project.

This is a new kind of technology and it needs at least 10 years of development before it's fully functional, it is also difficult for me to digest any need for decentralized cloud storage these days, especially with differences of prices and costs of having internet connection and any computer in different countries, this idea brings nothing to the advantage of individuals trying to keep a system decentralized. people will never be able to compete with the big cloud storage providers because they will always offer cheaper services.

Let me explain why your assumptions are incorrect.

1. First off decentralized Storage is way cheaper than traditional storage, this because farmers already have their computers turned ON, they already paid for the hardware and electricity.
2. One of the biggest limits both on a architectural level and on a price level is bandwidth, datacenters have a limited bandwidth pipe and have to pay allot of money for this bandwidth, while farmers already paid for this bandwidth so there is no extra cost there.
3. Files are encrypted and split into shards, which are uploaded to different hosts on the network. This is called distributed data storage, what are the advantages?, well for one its very hard for a malicious person to retrieve and decrypt the file, secondly, it allows one to sum the bandwidth pipe of all the farmers that hold the shard, which can be staggering (imagine 100x gigabit farmers holding a shard).
4. Decentralized storage will always be able to outcompete centralized storage providers.

I've been trading STORJ for 2.5 years and it's roughly doubled in terms of BTC in 30 months...
That is an awful performance regardless of "theoretical" shilling why any CTO would risk job to chose p2p over Amazon, Dropbox, etc...
So you are definitely not "outcompeting" anyone probably for very good reasons that no one will talk about.

Except this very smart guy who documented his experience= "Storj Not Dropbox Killer"... what fun.

https://shitcoin.com/storj-not-a-dropbox-killer-1a9f27983d70

`Except this very smart guy`, well he is not a very smart guy, because if he was he would (1) ask for help and not jump straight to conclusions, and (2) He would know that running a bridge without any knowledge or infrastructure is never going to work. Just because you have been trading the Storj token for almost 3 years means nothing, where are you helping to test the network and push the technology forwarard?, right, just thinking about your own profits and expect others to do the work.

Well, in one week since my post STORJ is down another 25% or roughly $10 million...
So capital is flowing OUT and into other projects that investors feel have a brighter future.

"just because you have been trading the Storj token for almost 3 years means nothing"

You obviously do not understand the important role of capital markets re: price discovery and liquidity...
Which facilitates the transfer of capital from broken companies to well run companies...
Especially in light of the way Storj has abused these markets and produced very little of value for anyone.

"So capital is flowing OUT and into other projects that investors feel have a brighter future.", they are not investors, investors invest in the company by buying stock, the company then uses this raised money to make a better product. All these opportunist token buyers are doing is waiting for a token to rise in value and then sell, they don't invest into anything. Storj token is a use token to buy storage, these people don't use the token for that. I honestly couldn't care less if these token buyers run away, i will actually sleep better knowing that the current token holders are here to help further the use of the token and help develop the network.

"Especially in light of the way Storj has abused these markets and produced very little of value for anyone.", we have a working network, although far from perfect, its more than most of the top 50 marketcap tokens have, market kap says nothing about the actual value of the product/service, nothing. If you think it does, you are living in a dream world.
