Shift Coins from roughly July 2016

I admit, I have not been keep tracking of this coin.  I did mine it during the July time period of 2016.  Recently I wanted to do an inventory of my alt coins, and I found a folder called Phantom-bundle... looked a little deeper and oh ya, I have some Shift coins.

I noticed on page 1 that there was a manual coin swap but I'm afraid I have missed the transfer window by roughly a year.  I do not see my address on the shift block explorer, I am assuming this is because of the manual swap.

So, is there any chance I can salvage my older Shift coins?

Thanks

Is there something special in regards to setting up this wallet for Solo Mining using nsgminer ?

According to the debug logs the wallet keeps rejecting my miner due to invalid password but I know the password is correct.

Thanks

My wallet 1.2.4 is also stuck @ 250169. I had that problem right after the update, so I deleted the burst_db folder and let it redownload the whole blockchain. Now it's stuck again :|

Some users have stability issues with the core version 1.2.4. We are working on a solution and release a fix as soon as possible.

The core version 1.2.3 still works and will work after Block 255000 but the Blockchain has to be synced all over again unfortunately.

There also seems to be an issue with connecting to updated clients.  Since I have upgraded to 1.2.4 I seem to only connect to outdated 1.2.3 clients with the occasional 1.2.4.  I deleted my dB and reused the latest chain download but I still cannot get up-to-date.  Burst.ninja still appears to be using the 1.2.3 version.

Good-Luck

Umm guys i need some help yesterday this started happening:

Mining worked before like a charm and i didnt change a thing ... any ideas?

...and another thing, im mining since ~1-2 months now on pool.burst-team.us, using around 10TB plots, which are all
optimimized (i also checked with plotchecker-tool) but i only get very small payouts, if i check the calculator on burst.biz my numbers are waaaay off...
if i dont find any blocks i get around 2-3 payouts a day with ~310 each...thats not normal for 10TB right? can anyone can confirm how much i should be mining a day, week or month using 10TB?

I was just about to ask about the 10054 error message.  I started getting it a day or 2 ago also.

The new ShiftHub front end is very nice, good job.

Just a few little things:

The Transaction Overview graph is showing that I have 33 transactions and 0 received, it should be roughly 31 received and 1 or 2 sent.  I think the received values are just getting combined with the sent values.

When I hover my mouse over my address so I can copy/paste, my cursor disappears and it looks like the boundaries for the address and everything else are very close making it difficult to highlight the  address.  Can you make a left click on the address go right to the clipboard, or click with a pop-up for "To Clipboard", etc.

If two transactions are very close on the graph, the mouse hover has a hard time displaying the pop-up indicator.  I have two transactions show within a few blocks, one contains roughly 10x the value as the lower transactions, the mouse over will not recognize the higher transactions value and will now show me the pop-up.

Anyways, Good Job and Good-Luck

Windows 10 64-bit

When I try and launch Sia-UI.exe I get nothing, no pop-up, no error message, just a blip on the cursor.  Nothing related to Sia is running in the TaskManager and there is no CPU or HDD activity.  I manually copied all of the important folders to the AppData location and then I tried just letting SIA-UI create the AppData folders and still nothing.  I've tried running the .exe as an Admin, no luck.

Any ideas?

Where does this Burst 2.0 reference keep coming from?  Did I miss a post some place?  I haven't seen anything related to a core Burst upgrade.

There is:
Mobile Wallet with mining capabilities...
Front end upgrade for the Catbref code pools...
A new working and reliable Block Explorer...
A few new Assets being released...
Possibly some marketing...

I don't think any of this is related to a Burst 2.0 upgrade.

These are the things I have seen mentioned.  I have seen Burst 2.0 mentioned a few times now.  Crow and the rest of the Team has been doing a wonderful Job of keeping this coin alive, I am not trying to belittle any of their efforts.  Burst 2.0 seems to be a statement that is not quite warranted yet, or maybe I'm wrong and I hope I am.

Happy Mining.

Anyone know gpuplotgenerator? I'm having issues using it! I have a radeon HD6670 and I hoped it would be faster than my I5 2500k plotting. I had catalyst 15.12 drivers installed but as soon as the plotting started the drivers would crash and plotting would never continue. I upgraded to catalyst 15.7.1 thinking the drivers were the problems and it does the same thing. So decided to install crimson 16.2.1 and while my card shows in device manager gpuplotgenerator now only shows my cpu and not gpu as an available plotter.

Windows 10 btw...

It shows here in listPlatforms
Code:
C:\Users\Garbear\Downloads\gpuPlotGenerator-bin-win-x64-4.0.3>gpuplotgenerator listPlatforms

Your first Command shows that your GPU is device 0 on Platform 1.

I believe your second command is listing devices on Platform 0.

Since your GPU is device 0 on Platform 1, use listdevices 1.  This should show you your GPU.

I'm going, from memory, but your crash issue is probably because you're not telling GpuGenerator to use Platform 1 Device 0.

Good luck.

So is there / would it be possible to produce a Plotter that produces and optimised plot as a single process?

Rich
Yes, Cryo's GPU plot generator https://github.com/bhamon/gpuPlotGenerator/releases
Buffered or direct writing support.

I use Cryo's GPU generator in Direct mode.  Maybe it's just my system but the generator looks like it has crashed for most of the plot creation, there is no progress update.  I just monitor my hard-drives activity.  During this 1st stage there is little to no GPU activity.  After awhile (hours) the GPU kicks in.  The process takes longer than the buffer method but when it is done you have an optimized plot.  Most of my plot files are 500GB optimized and I have a few 1TB optimized plots.  ~16TB all optimized takes about 15sec to process using Luxes Jminer, and this is with the GPU also mining Ether with not noticeable change to Ether mining.

On a side note, My 280X can process the plots in 15 seconds (245MiB/s avg) while the 280 and 390X can only hit 145MiB/s avg.   Not sure why *shrugs*

Good-Luck

@burstless, why you does not update?  Huh  Your miner's version is very old.
v1.160413 more faster for 99.2 Tb (and stable)  Wink

@ALL did you have errors after closing miner?

Hello Blago,

AVX version works well,  roughly 66MB/s read rate using i3-4370 5 disks ~ 12TB.  I do get a Windows program error when I close using the 'Q' command.
Keep up the good work, I sent you a small BURST tip.

Regarding ninja, why so many deferred payouts...? Looks like they are piling up....

And what is "unconfirmed payouts" more specific?

Deferred payouts build up until you have 300 or more burst to payout.

Unconfirmed payouts are those that have less than 10 confirmations - once you hit 10 it will be confirmed.

H.

Ninja has been up and running for a fair amount of time.  All of this information should be on a FAQ or INFO page.

Hello Genoil,

Is there any chance you might implement a device list for OpenCL (AMD) mining.  Right now its either all GPUs, a specific GPU, or X amount starting at zero.  In my case I was lucky  Undecided enough to have ID 0 as a Tahiti ID 1 as my APU and ID 2 as a Hawaii.  I would personally like to use the APU for something else other than Ether, plus the wattage used for the hash rate is not worth the fan noise.

Anyways,  just hoping for a --Opencl-devices 0,2 (comma) option.

Thank you & Good-Luck.

Question in regards to siac (CLI)

siac wallet seeds

This command shows me my seed information ( i.e. password)  It also shows an indicator for Addresses Remaining,  What exactly is this telling me.

My current Address Remaining = -90074,  Any reason why it is negative?

The GUI for 0.4.8 has been acting rather sluggish for me, hence why I started looking at the CLI.  When I use siac wallet addresses I get a list of addresses that goes past my scroll buffer.  I have had a few transactions with Poloniex and I have uploaded a few files to the cloud but I didn't think I had that many transactions.  The siac wallet transactions shows me all of the transactions and based on the block explorer they appear to be related to the files I uploaded.

When I navigate the Sia GUI the wallet section is unresponsive.  I cannot get the UI to show me a new address or list any of my transactions.  It looks like the long list of transactions and addresses I have is chocking the GUI, everything looks to be working fine on the CLI.  Every other section in the GUI works fine.

Kubuntu 14.04
Sia 0.4.8

Thank You

In your config there are no "difficulty-multiplier" : "0.00390625".
Tried adding this pair, but still 100% reject.
Is there a config file which has all these parameters set to a "default" value? Would't it be good to just start from a "default" baseline?
I don't know if all these custom (non default) values make any difference to the mining anyhow.
How does one define a "default" value for all these pairs?

Just to clarify, I don't care if it's optimized or not, I just want it to "work" and not reject everything.
Here's the finished .bat file (7970, 7990) with the settings on nicehash.com
Code:
sgminer.exe --kernel x11mod -o stratum+tcp://stratum.nicehash.com:3336 -u 19.....Je -p x --gpu-engine 1100 --gpu-memclock 550 --shaders 2048 --thread-concurrency 8192  -I 20 -w 64 -g 2 --worksize 256 --lookup-gap 0 --gpu-fan 40-100 --auto-fan --temp-target 60
used sgminer-5.1-dev-2014-11-10-win32

And this is an example .bat file for solo mining diamond

Code:
sgminer.exe -k diamond -o http://192.168.1.7:9055 -u zzz -p xxx --gpu-engine 1100 --gpu-memclock 550 --shaders 2048 --thread-concurrency 8192  -I 20 -g 1 --worksize 256 --lookup-gap 0 --scan-time 1 --queue 4 --no-submit-stale --gpu-fan 40-100 --auto-fan --temp-target 60

sgminer.exe -k diamond -o stratum+tcp://dmdpool.digsys.bg:3333 -u [worker name] -p [password] --xintensity 300 -g 1 --thread-concurrency 16384 -w 256 --lookup-gap 0 --difficulty-multiplier 0.0039062500

http://bit.diamonds/#miningsoft

Notice the bold part.... pretty sure you need that.
I'm guessing using a mix of Tahiti and Hawaii non optimized is going to be worse than just running one of those optimized.

Use the difficulty modifier, then experiment with two separate miner instances, each using an optimized BIN file...different than the Diamond or Groestlcoin. cl file.

The info at the link I pasted explains it pretty well.

Just to clarify, I don't care if it's optimized or not, I just want it to "work" and not reject everything.

u need to use algo diamond not groestlcoin

at least in the mining stoneage when i still mined with AMD cards that was the case

i know somewhere is a miner that use groestlcoin algo and another flag to make it behave like diamond

from dev team noone use AMD mining anymore

and community much improved the miners performance

so please this is a community effort help each other prepare guides

dont expect dev team provide any mining software or guides

.

i guess thats the downside if the dev team is more focused on other parts beside mining

for us its just added security by hybrid POW/POS but we see it as the area of the tech geeks who know what they do

our focus and what we provide lot guides and info is clear the POS part

which give a investor a predictable income source

for sure we will update webside mining guides if someone can prepare us the material

any help is welcome

Thanks, already did update to Diamond kernel per earlier suggestion.
I was just hoping to find a plain-vanilla CONF file, just something to get going with. It's been about a month since I tried to get the AMD card going, since it was recommended as better than my current CPU mining.

You need the difficulty modifier line in your config file.  I'm not in front of my config, so I can't tell you what it is but that's why you getting rejects.  The difficulty modifier was listed a few pages back I think. Its also in the config files provided by Nicehash and in the config file provided in the how to page

Like i said before radeon 7990 is much better than R9 270 even R9 290, why didn't you bought a 7990?

because i have some computers with 450w power supply
so take one 270 and later  buy 3 more

also 270  is 290 half price and same for speed it s half of an 290

so it s better of with 2x 270 than 1 290
also if it's broken , your 290 break nothing left, 1 270 break you still have 1   Smiley

You do something wrong. Please try to install driver for AMD 14.7 RC3, delete all bins from sgminer folder, get modified kernel from pallas (Opensource Kernel (v1)) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=779598.0 and run again. You'll get something like 10 Mh from each of your R9 270 or ~ 1 DMD/day from every card. With current difficulty it's better to mine solo.

are you sure 10mh with 270  ?(not 270x)

i have driver 15.10 Beta  i downlaoded the sgminer sgminer_diamond_v4.1.0.zip

i gonna try , thank fro the information

i tryed, driver 15.10beta  sgminer 4.1.0  i downloaded the  groestlcoin-v1.cl   renamed to diamond.cl
deleted diamondPitcairnglg2tc10688w256l4.bin

but no change i have 4.7 mh

and it s worse  i think  groestlcoin.cl is not same as dimaond    i ve got lot of rejected shares

Did you....
1.) Copy the name of your Original .bin file
2.) Rename the Optimized .bin file to the name of your original in step 1
3.) Delete (move) your original .bin file
4.) Copy/Move the the Renamed Optimized .bin file into your miner directory?

Where can I trade siafunds?

How can one import Siafunds into the GUI wallet?

Please post step by step instructions.  Grin

You're going to want to be in the #trading channel on our slack. You can get an invite to the slack at https://slackin.sia.tech

There is currently no siafund support in the GUI, siafunds can be used through the cli only.

----

How To Migrate Coins from 0.3.3.x Wallets

0a. Don't run 0.3.3.x software. Doing so risks triggering bugs that can destroy coins.
0b. Create backups of everything before loading anything. Don't delete any backups until you are 100% sure that the coins have been properly recovered.
1. Find the wallet.dat file that has the coins. Make sure that you grab the most recent one - backups may not contain all of the coins. (It's okay to try loading both the most recent one and the backup one)
2. Load the wallet in to the 0.4.x software. In the GUI, there's a 'load legacy wallet' button you can use. With siac, you can use the 'siac wallet load 033x' command.
3. When asked for a password, provide the password for the 0.4.x wallet. The 033x wallet is unencrypted, you are being asked for a password so the 033x wallet can be encrypted.
4. repeat for every wallet and backup that you find. It's okay to load the same wallet multiple times, and to load the wallets in any order.
5. After loading all of the files, restart Sia. Make sure that 'siad' closes all the way, you may need to kill it in the task manager.

As long as you follow step 0a and 0b correctly, you have no risk of losing coins, even if you mess up on the later steps.

Thanks Taek.

How do we get the coins from the legacy wallet into part of the seed backup? I think a lot of people don't realize that they won't be backed up.  And is the wallet.json file necessary to backup if you have written down your seed?

Also are there anymore passwords besides to encrypt the wallet besides the seed that is given when first opening the wallet?

thanks!

Also do you know when mac builds will be available? When I unzip the 0.4.6. it's just the 0.4.4 version. thanks

The Windows version is the same way.  Downloaded file says 0.4.6 but once you unzip it  the file name is 0.4.4 and the about page in the gui says 0.4.4.

I'm uploading my first file to the SiaNet ( I guess that's what you could call it).  The file is .7z file 725MB in size.  So far I am at roughly 10 minutes and it is about 12% finished.

Is there any specific CPU type that can handle the erasure encoding better?  I don't see Sia using anymore than 10-20% of my CPU and the drive IO doesn't appear to be maxed out.  Mainly I'm just curious about what could be taking it so long.

I'm not complaining, just making some observations.  I'm sure upload rates will improve as we move forward.  Or maybe its just my old Pentium E5800 (Kubuntu 14.04)

It's mostly a network bottleneck. The erasure coding library is very fast, especially on 64bit systems. Uploading on the other hand... Sia currently uses 5x redundancy, which means you're uploading 3.6GB, something that will take several hours on most home connections.

Makes sense now, thank you.

I just assumed that the redundancy was done by the network, not all from the source location.

X = transferred amount per participant
SOURCE                    -->       1      (X)
SOURCE, 1                -->       2      (0.5X)
SOURCE, 1, 2            -->        3     (0.3X)
SOURCE, 1, 2, 3        -->        4      (0.25X)
SOURCE, 1, 2, 3, 4    -->        5      (0.2x)

Is it possible to use multi location uploads, just like the downloads are done from multiple locations to improve download rate?  A shared upload would speed up the process for everyone involved, and reduce the uploaded by the host.

A few more questions & Comments UI vs 0.4.4

  • When I uploaded this file I was never presented with an option to choose how much I wanted to pay, or for how long, is that normal?
  • Were can I find the .sia file to share.  The share button gives me the ASCII file information, but not the .sia file.
  • Having the contract cost listed next to the file in the files tab could be useful.  Right now I had to go into transactions and add up the 10 payments that I assume are part of the contract deal.
  • Under the Files Tab it says 1458 S/GB (estimated), but under the Hosting tab is says the competitive price is 21.05 S/GB per month. Thats a pretty large estimate window on how much it could cost to store files.

Keep up the good work
