I don't think Bitcoin hard forks are problems at this point.

The last one was very positive for the crypto environment.

Probably geopolitical instability, with growing concern about economic crisis and fiat money printing.

Creating an ethereum token is much easier, much safer, and is really cheap.

You just have to check a few existing smart contracts and make your own, or there is a cheap service, minereum : http://tokenservice.minereum.com/

Re: Is Bitcoin money?
by
Michael_Gims

It is the money of internet.

Regulators may consider Bitcoin is just an asset, a commodity or a securities, but all theses can be used as money, so there's a very little difference.

Re: why do governments don't make BTC illegal worldwide ?
by
Michael_Gims

Because Bitcoin is not a major concern for them. Just a minor concern, a niche used by smart people as inflation shield.

Re: is it better to invest in bitcoin or ethereum ?

I'd say both too.

Bitcoin is a shield against inflation and fiat money printing.

Ethereum profits form ICOs and tokenization.

Bitcoin is already a transnational currency. It's just informal, not official.

Re: How about establish a grand new country whose official money is BTC?
by
Michael_Gims

Bitcoin has scalability problems, so it cannot be everyday money.

Yet it's possible that some countries accept bitcoin as an additional official currency.

Re: What will happen with Bitcoin if it never scales?
by

If bitcoin never scales, it will just be like gold, reserved to very valuable transactions.

Microtransactions will move to other cryptocurrencies.

Transactions fees and the latency until confirmation is a major problem in Bitcoin.

Not currently because too many problems remain unsolved : scalability with high security, low latency, no or quasi no fees.

I think neither will die, because they are decentralized systems, with many nodes, and because internet is everywhere now.

Re: bitcoin cannot replace currency in the world because price is not stable
by
Michael_Gims
on 11/09/2017, 14:27:20 UTC
That's not the main reasons.

The main limits are scalability, high fees, high latency.

The main qualities of bitcoin is reliability and decentralization, but it cannot be everyday money.

Re: Is China manipulating the price of Bitcoin and other altcoins?
by
Michael_Gims

I don't think this is their primary concern.

They want above all to control financial transactions, so bitcoin is a concern because it cannot be controlled as much as they would like.

Re: Do you think Bitcoin will survive after 100 year ?
by
Michael_Gims
on 11/09/2017, 13:09:08 UTC
I think Bitcoin will still be there in 100 years, and still valuable.

But there will be so many innovations that it will be overcomed by something else as the leading cryptocurrency.

Re: HOW BLOCKCHAIN WORKS?
by
Michael_Gims
on 10/09/2017, 16:18:33 UTC
I think the innovative point is that a block contains information concerning the previous block, so it forms a chain, with continuous information.  A single former block cannot be changed since it's linked to the previous and the next block, like a chain.

I think it's important to learn a lot about the market, about the environment. Especially in the cryptocurrencies environment, which is quite complex, with so many coins, assets, and things to handle properly.

Re: Bitcoin will rise up or fall down?
by

I don't think China will ban BTC because most Bitcoins are mined in China; it provides economic growth and financial resources.

But a strict regulation is likely.
