How do I control Vega FE fans?!?!? (with FirePro Beta 18.4.1 driver)
by

on 02/05/2018, 13:39:00 UTC
The new beta driver released on Monday appears to finally allow us Vega FE users to ditch the blockchain drivers, but I can't seem to figure out how to control the fans or overclock.  I feel stupid af, but OverdrivenTool isn't working with this driver for me.  I never use the tools that come with the driver and I can't seem to find the setting.  Help a noob out por favor.

Re: Obelisk tech to release Miner for Decred with the DCR1
by

Don't have a decred miner coming...but if I did I'd be waiting for the other shoe to drop from Bitmain....I bet you..they will announce a decred

miner within the next month...count on it....

(bitmain: evil is how we roll!) (tm: bitmain)

If they don't make it then someone else will maybe a few months later.  The only way I see to stop asics from being developed is for a coin to have a position like the monero project where they just openly say, if we find out that there are asics on the network then we will fork the code to break it.  I don't see bitcoin core ever changing their algo, and even if they did the miners would keep on mining the old chain or just switch to bitcoin cash.  I think Satoshi let a genie out of the bottle and we might not be able to put it back in.

Tested longer, pool side I'm getting about 10sol/s per card more on 1070's.

I'll take it, my new miner. Please lower the fee though Sad

Issues synching v0.9.3.0-g9eda388-beta
7 active connections but stays at 24 hrs behind
Your wallet's fine - we have a very long block.  We got hit hard by a profit pool, it appears.

I'm going to reboot my random number generator and hopefully I land in a universe where the block just got solved.

Can I get an account?
Slack->send your public key to bot via PM ->profit

slackbot [8:02 PM]
I'm sorry, I don't understand! Sometimes I have an easier time with a few simple keywords.

What did I do wrong?  I'm not experienced with Slack.

Edit: Nevermind, see that I can just mine it until I get an account.

Anyone got a guide on how to get an FE to work with xmr-stak under linux?

It runs the rx 560 fine, but I get an error when I do clinfo.

Can anyone shoot me to a guide for getting FE's setup on Ubuntu?  At this point I'm ok with my 4 FE's doing 1500-1600 reliably in one rig instead of 3 rigs like I'm running now to get full 2100 Sad

I...
install ubuntu 16.04 LTS
install blockchain drivers
install AMDSDK
fix grub
fix groups
fix symbolic link

compile xmr
and it doesn't find any AMD devices.

If I do lspci -nn | grep -E 'VGA|Display' I get 03:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Vega 10 [Radeon Vega Frontier Edition]

If swap the FE out for a 580 or similar it recognizes and hashes just fine.

What am I missing?!?!?!?!

I'm looking at this headline in a very simple way. It's a long history of coins. Are there many people digging this cat? I looked at the price. The short time jumped very badly.

Nope, just a few of us, you should probably not buy or mine catcoin, it's more of a community coin than a pump and dump.

Should I Invest in CAT?

Are the community alive?
Someone is mining?

I consider it mid-long term very risky coin with huge potential returns (mostly because of name and insanely low cap).

A few of us 24/7 miners purring along.  Invest?  Sure why not, it’s cheap and still actively developed.  We keep slimepuppy chained to the desk.  He should have atomic swaps up and running by Thursday sometime in 2025 I think.

It will be better if you add any information about idea of project for people who don't know what is Catcoin.
The first post of this thread lists the coin info and has links to infrastructure.  The quick overview can be found at our project site:  catcoins.org

What specific sort of information would you like to see?

Is it possible to mine catcoins solo with asics L3+ on local network?

I don’t think there is an easy way.  I think you need to setup a stratum proxy.  I briefly looked at it and Blaksmith started to explain, but I ended up pointing my l3 at geekhash, less of a  hassle.  Jump on irc and go to #catcoin and ask slimepuppy and/or blaksmith, they always helping me get straightened out.

What is hard cap?

21million, it's exactly like bitcoin, except it uses scrypt algo instead of sha256

I have 3 FE and a 64.

So far I can get the 64 and 1 FE to hash at 2k, the other 2 get the ! triangle when I mess with HBMM in firepro or disable/enable in device manager.

Anyone have a clue?  Taken me forever, just to get to this point.

Re: [ANN][HLM] HELIUM - PRE NOTICE
by

we'll see when they release it. They will only give a few hours notice until it goes live. They've completed testing on the testnet and I believe that they are running tests on the mainnet now. I believe that it will launch in a month or so, but like you all, am just quietly watching and waiting Smiley

Is it possible for me to test mining on the test net?

Almost two years after launch, the OP of the project has still not had roadmap. Is the project really developed over the last two years?
If you scroll up a few pages (that'll take less time than reading through all three threads and give you the same info), you'll see that there actually is a roadmap.  If you go back to our launch thread, you'll see that CAT started in 2013.  Thanks for checking in, though.

Who let you out?  Isn't blak cracking the whip on you?  Still plan on having atomic swaps by year end right?
