I have got my money back, well most of it. 90$ less, but might be because I use another currency and perhaps conversion fee and difference in value since I payed.
Still no bitcoin for the other orders tho, which should be easiest to pay back especially since the BTC he got is worth so much more now than when he received them.

Help

I have 2 orders of total 3x 72GH/s units (1/3 which is BTC payed), which I have all requested refunds on. On the old BTCFPGA site it says my CC order is refunded but I do not have received any money in my bank account, and it's been days. And while no status change on the BTC order I also haven't received any btc back even tho Dave said on the forum that all BTC refunds were processed.

Anyone else in the same situation?

I read Dave said that if anyone is considering requesting a refund they might aswell do a chargeback. I hope that doesn't mean they won't process anymore refunds cause even tho Ill do much to get that much money back doing a chargeback with my bank is much hassle for myself.

Also, anyone got anymore contact info on Davebuzz or Tom? Or if you seen them hang out in an IRC channel lately, all I got was dave's email.

That would be great, perhaps an option to show 5-30 of the most popular topics and certainly the option to choose between 24h, week, month, etc.

Another nice feature would be to show the posts that have gotten the most up-votes in the chosen timeline, but I guess that cannot be implemented before this forum actually got a voting plugin installed instead of people "+1" all the time.

Yeah, I dunno why BitcoinX removed it.

I think the owners changed. I think the original owner has put his top15 list back up again here: http://blockchained.com/

+1

Thanks!

Yeah, I dunno why BitcoinX removed it. Perhaps some web coder can make a similar one and put it online, hey, might even get some ad revenue.

How can I access the most active topics in the last 24 hours like the list that was on the old BitcoinX webpage? I really miss it.

There is something, because it's about 1000 more views than @ wordpress jump, which I was expecting more views from. But I guess it's nothing huge with a dash of random. Im guessing the really huge one in the 90-chart is the Romney thing.

I'll back you up and say I agree completely with your austerity post.  It's a horrible idea.  That's the problem that I have with what happened in the 2000s in the U.S.  After the country was showing a surplus, and unemployment was so low, and the economy was booming in the late 90s, that's when the spending should have been cut, and taxes on the wealthy raised.  Instead we accelerated the increase in debt by massively increasing spending and massively cutting taxes on the wealthy.  Then the complete lack of financial regulation led to the collapse of the worldwide financial industry and the housing debacle we find ourselves digging out of now.

So basically what happened was we kept spending and low taxes when things were going great, and when they collapsed we had magnified the debt so badly that there wasn't the ability (or will) to massively spend by the government to end the recession (depression?) quickly.

Bingo!

You're making money and your people is making easy money. Pay those debts and save some money for when the country is going down. Bush trashed all this money in I-don't-know-what and now, you're stuck with a guy trying to repair all the damages.

I love the Norwegian model exactly for that. They found oil and easy money. What do they do? They build one of the biggest fund around here and save money for worst days. Last time I checked, their fund was estimated to 500 billion$. The day they go in crisis, they can simply subsidize their population for a couple of years, waiting for the economy to get better. This country is almost immune to any economic crisis.

You are right, Norway just surpassed the Arabic oil funds and is now the biggest fund in the world. It is growing by investments alone by 850$ per second or more. As of July 2012 it was 634,753,952,831$.

Edited typo.

I have the 860watt version of this PSU in my computer, it's "probably the best psu ever" according to anandtech: http://www.anandtech.com/show/5464/seasonic-platinum-series-860w

Since I need to have my computer on to mine I will use the computers power supply to power the bASIC's of course, but I would need really long molex power cables (want to have boards around 1.5meter from computer), any ideas where they sell meter long of those or I need to make them myself?

I don't know that (you could really easly do that yourself, just be sure you take great cables).

A sidenote: tension decreases with the distances of the wire. So if you have a 10 meter long wire and you start at 12V, you might arrive at 11V at the other side. I would be sure that i did it right before risking to damage Xk$ of mining device.

Yeah, I read somewhere that the limit on IDE cables is 43cm or something. Ill just pick the best cables and measure the cable voltage drop before I try it. For my needs I only need 1-1.5meter cable.

EDIT: Thanks for info MrTeal, my brother is an electrician of some type so he's knowledge will help.
