Is it possible to do cloud mining? I tried on Digital Ocean but it says that the CPU doesn't accept x64 instructions or something like that when I try to build..

You need a 64 bit node. CryptoNote only works on 64 bit.

I set up the node with Ubuntu 13.10 64-bit. Doesn't that mean I have a 64-bit CPU running?

I’ve got this error repeating over and over.
I think it's still mining however.

Code:
2014-Apr-28 18:03:06.878417 [P2P6]ERROR /XXX/bitmonero/contrib/epee/include/net/abstract_tcp_server2.inl:307 send que size is more than ABSTRACT_SERVER_SEND_QUE_MAX_COUNT(100), shutting down connection
2014-Apr-28 18:03:06.878504 [P2P6]ERROR /XXX/bitmonero/contrib/epee/include/net/levin_protocol_handler_async.h:515 [54.255.153.190:47988 INC]Failed to do_send
2014-Apr-28 18:03:06.878580 [P2P6]Failed to invoke command 1002 return code -1
2014-Apr-28 18:03:06.878701 [P2P6][54.255.153.190:47988 INC]COMMAND_TIMED_SYNC invoke failed. (-1, LEVIN_ERROR_CONNECTION)
2014-Apr-28 18:03:06.878771 [P2P6]Failed to invoke command 1002 return code 0

type "exit" then restart the daemon.

I get this error as well but intermittently. Should I be worried? Everything seems fine but how would I confirm that I'm mining? My hashrate fluctuates between 13 and 14. How do I know if I found a block?

Thanks tacotime for the MRO!

The fund holds
Cash
BTC
Securities
Mining hardware.
Localbitcoin sales

BTC is valued by Bitstamp
Securities are valued by Havelock
Mining hardware is very conservatively valued
Localbitcoin sales are exchanged immediately for new coins at current price.

I keep it very simple.  I update spreadsheets a few times a week.
Immediately if someone needs to sell.
The practice keeps it very interesting.

What to do you charge to do this? This sounds interesting and it may be something I would like to do with those closest around me as well. Just wanted to know what you think is fair in terms of compensation. Do you tell them that it is really risky?

The scheme makes me feel myself a person with low IQ !  Sad

You will rapidly change that and find your place in the Knowledge Age, especially if you are young.

I'm young. What do you suggest?

1. Get involved with a micro payments, cpu-minable, anonymity coin to accelerate the coming of #2 below. Some discussion on that at another thread I started.

2. Develop your skills in some creativity activity in which some aspect of it interfaces with content that can be delivered electronically, e.g. 3D printing designs, programming, biotech, nanotech, marketing plans, medical tech and art, visual arts, audio arts, etc..

Did you know it is possible to print an entire house of marble using a 3D printer:

http://d-shape.com/

Get in touch with your creativity ability. Most men have this as it is sort of innate to being a man. There are so many areas. This isn't restricted to just programming. You see that D-Shape is very hands on, get your hands dirty. Some men like to work with their hands, not just their mind.

In short, become a hacker, in the broadest definition of the term.

http://www.catb.org/esr/faqs/hacker-howto.html#what_is

P.S. I'd love to see you guys help improve the Flying Car.

Thanks for the post AnonyMint. I've been reading your posts almost everyday for a few weeks now and I appreciate your sharing of astute observations, it has helped me get a better sense of where I should be spending my time in.

AnonyMint, is http://blog.cryptocurrencyconcepts.net/post/81016742800/the-new-pyramid what you refer to when you say,

2. The 21 million supply limit is a lie. This WILL be violated and there are numerous ways it can happen. The most likely way is Bitcoin is obviously moving towards offchain storage and services. In fact, Bitcoin can't have instant transactions without offchain fractional reserves (technically the exchange has to be fractional for it to happen instantly). Also the government could today regulate the few pools who have 51% and the few ASIC miners who have large datacenters, and produce as many coins per coinbase as they wanted. Later when the masses are all using government regulated offchain Coinbase.com and Bitpay.com, etc, then government can do what ever it wants to the mining and the masses won't care.

and

4. Altcoins will proliferate the # of coins in the ecosystem.

Importing Shares
There is no fee to import shares. There is no minimum quantity for importing shares.

How to Import Direct Shares:
1. Send an e-mail to fnnirvana@gmail.com & Havelock Investments at
AMFund@havelockinvestments.com with the following message:

”Please transfer (X) of my shares to the Havelock Investments account at 1J5fvfUrDcZj8rrpVHMgn8u7sXee84QkPd --
AMFund@havelockinvestments.com”

Also include the following info:
- Your current ASICMINER share-holding wallet address & e-mail address
- The quantity of shares you wish to transfer

2. If the e-mail address you have on file with ASICMINER is different than the one you use for your Havelock account, you MUST send an e-mail from the e-mail address you have registered with Havelock confirming this import request. If this is the case, please provided a dated, signed message from the host wallet to confirm ownership.
3. After confirmation from Friedcat is received, the AM1 shares will be added to your account within 48 hours or less. Please note that ASICMINER currently processed requests once per week, so some imports may take up to 9 days to fully process.

Thanks. I understood all of it except this: ”Please transfer (X) of my shares to the Havelock Investments account at 1J5fvfUrDcZj8rrpVHMgn8u7sXee84QkPd --
AMFund@havelockinvestments.com” I don't see a bitcoin address connected to my Havelock account. Is that address the same one as this: Your current ASICMINER share-holding wallet address ??
