The countdown begins for shipping batch #2 - August 24

3
2

Ordered mine July 28 so I guess mine will be quite a few days later .....

No tellin with Bitmain.  I ordered 1st day one time and shipped UPS and it shipped on like the second day of shipping.  I ordered a few weeks before shipping once but with fedex, and it still went out first day.   I ordered my z9 mini with fedex shipping, so hoping for first day shipping again.

The problem is you are cashing out and not holding till market value comes up. Hold and that 2 dollars today 30 days from now maybe worth 6 dollars. Mining is not a get rich quick unless you hit the jackpot mining a coin with no value that goes to the moon. Just my 2 cents.

Exactly ... And it is moronic to track daily in fiat value even if you are not cashing out daily.  The exchange rate to fiat is constantly changing.

Some people cash out frequently to convert to fiat to pay their electric bills.....  I cash out 3-4 times per month just for that reason.  Or once per month if the prices are good.

Well I can understand that but you can't complain if you cash out you have to live with that choice. Everyones circumstance is different but in the end we all have to be satisfied in our choices in the end.

Do you pay your electric bill 3-4 times a month?  I pay mine once a month.  Just front it with your other money and cash out for a few months of electricity when it's good to do it.  If anyone thinks this is a short term thing, they are dreaming.

Nope once per month, but I cash out depending on the ebb and flow of the price of coins.  If you cash out 1 day then you might not be cashing out at the most optimum time.  I do it as I go along.  a $320 electric bill each month isn't difficult to pay for with the least amount of coin if you time it correctly once a week.

As someone else said i guess ... Everyones situation is different ... I have a full time job, so paying to power my small 24 gpu mining operation out of regular income isn't that big of a deal, until I feel that it's worth cashing out a bit for electricity costs.  I just wouldn't do it multiple times a month over the past a 6 weeks.

I find its much easier to keep the wife happy about the noise in the garage when she knows the hardware will pay the electric bill each month.

Mining is no longer profitable for home miners, unfortunately decentralized technology became centralized due to interests of these who hold 99% of the riches. Basically same story than our banks, within 1 year only...

True that ... Can I buy your gpu's really cheap? Lol.  I don't care how old they are, I will give you 40 cents each plus shipping.

^^^^ wait, i will offer 41 cents per.........  Wink

hmmm, why not just buy a less expensive card that mines more per day.  I'm still getting $2.25 per day with my 570's that only cost me $200 over a month ago only drawing 88 watts each.  They seem to always be in stock.

Thanks man, I am shocked it dropped from 500 to 40 so fast. damn.

I am shocked it hasn't dropped lower already.
Either the first batch was very small, or Bitmain is being slow about getting them shipped out.

SIA total network hashrate was so small prior to the A3 introduction that a 3000-unit batch of A3 models SHOULD have done a lot more to the total hashrate than has happened so far.

Where are you getting this number of 3000 units released of A3?

If you look at the Sia total hashrate it says that about 9,500 - 10,000 A3's are hashing away right now.  I think all GPU miners probably dropped out.

Re: Why bitcoin is going down this few weeks?
by

on 31/01/2018, 03:32:00 UTC
I found this recently that bitcoin is going down rapidly,
what would be the cause of this going down of BTC and how it would affect the crypto world.

Have you been able to use it for anything?  Have you transferred it anywhere or did you decide not to because the fees were too high?  Are you mining it or are you mining alt coins because they are more profitable and cheaper to move around?

40$/day already Sad tomorrow 30.... will it stabilize on 20 or on 10??? If so then shitmain made a good move ... sold the hardware with minimal profit gain...

I still dont have my A3s yet   Smiley Cry

why such a delay thats awful O_O

Hey man! love your videos and such. Are your L3+s still profitable? I ordered one for the March batch a while ago, and of course the difficulty is going to sky rocket.

L3+ is becoming less and less profitable daily.  Currently a little over $10 a day.  So if your electricity is cheap, they are still nice and profitable.  However, if you live in So Cal like me where power rates are horrendous, then I think I might have another 30 days or so of mining before it's a wash.

I do mine a fair amount on prohashing as a set it and forget it setup with payouts in litecoin.  I also will mine specific coins based on whattomine stats are.  Recently i have mined a fair bit of POKERcoin as it is nearing the end of the pow phase and is about to be listed on a few exchanges.  Its easy to sit and collect the pos portion of the coin.

Dear user,

Our web shop system is crrently facing unexpected technical issues with order payments.

Because of this we have decided to cancel the Antminer A3 batch releases that were scheduled for 4PM, 9PM and 10PM today (29 January, GMT+8).

If you manged to succesfully place an order during the 2PM batch release today, you need not worry because your order will be shipped as scheduled.

For those who were unable to order during the 2PM batch release or those who planned to order during the other releases today, please stay tuned for the same batch's release at another time this week. We will announce this by email and on our social media accounts as soon as we have resolved our web shop issues and have finalized a time for it.

We apologize for any inconvenience that this sudden cancellation may have caused.

We will continue to investigate this issue to prevent it from occuring again.

Regards,

The Bitmain team

So, when will you reopen the site?

From the email I got, those batch 2 A3's are not shipping until march 15th.  They have plenty of time to reopen the orders Smiley

I understand the fees are high but I should still make way more than what is being offered here.  I understand the offers and the math behind it.  But this machine is still profitable.  Just as y'all want to maximize ROI, I want to sell as close as I can to what I have into it.  Unfortunately for me I bought it on Amazon for a LOT more than I am selling.  But hey, it was fun just doing it.  That is, until my wife heard it.  Shocked

I have mine out in the garage.  The wife can't hear it in the house so she is fine with it out there Smiley  I have mine down to just over 50db right now by drawing cooler air directly from outside and venting out of the garage.  If possible you might have to move it out of the house.  You could also try building a box to muffle the sound down to a manageable level.  I find that after I had it running out there a while, my wife doesn't pay much attention to it anymore when she goes out there.

Re: [WTS] Antminer A3 - In hand ships from Western USA
by

Yeah, you have to remember that sellers on ebay have to ask more because of the fees.  It's about 14-15% total between ebay and paypal.  Then you have to offer free overnight shipping there to entice buyers, and then you have to insure it and require sig confirmation to qualify for paypal seller protection (about $400+ in the US).  So when someone sells one at $5000 there, they only get about $3800-3900 when all is said and done.  So at $3500 you are not far off now.

received the miner ... directly set up and start mining ...

got only 64 USD per day  Grin

Mine arrived Yesterday after noon, set it up and was mining 115 sia per hour initially.  By this moring it was down to 85ish sia per hour.  My guess is the bulk of these have now arrived and set up and should settle somewhere around $50 per day.  Really wish I used Fedex as those were arriving 4 days ago, but I went with UPS and a damn $72 import fee.

I always use fedex now , cheaper and faster
what else you can ask  Grin  Grin  Grin

Yeah, it seems it went FedEx (first deliveries), UPS second, DHL third from all the posts I'm reading.

It's something like 7500 units online at the moment. Total max should be for this batch 11500.

We're fucked by shitmain! I feel their piss on my wounds and that fucking hurts!

How so?  Even at 12000 units wouldn't it level out to about $50-60 per day.  That's not too bad.  Mine for 30 days, then sell the unit.

In my humble opinion, 10 month ROI isnt really that good if you consider that the equipments are on very fast depreciation schedule.

The ROI isnt as persistent as other types of investments, primary because mining causes standard computer parts to fail prematurely.

My X79 still runs fine after 8 years of service becase I only do web browsing with it, but...

The video cards in a mining rig may die in 1-2 years or less due to heavy cryptomining and/or faulty riser boards. tbh, I'm having some doubts about getting into mining.... jumped in when ROI was about 6 months.

If you manage to kill a GPU in less than 5 years of mining on it, you're doing it WRONG.

I have quite a few cards that have been mining (or running the DNet client, which is also crypto work and JUST as intensive to the GPU) since the LITECOIN GPU mining days in 2013/2014 that are STILL mining away today.

Do quit spreading the "mining kills cards fast" FUD lies.

I think it all depends on if you can keep them cool.  How many fans need replacing/rebuilding after 12 months on GPU's.  I've had a few that I had to replace fans because they just wore out.  I did kill 1 7950 because the fan went out and I wasn't monitoring it and it ran for a long time at high temps in the summer.  Heat and GPU's don't mix well.
