For the celebration of the 10th anniversary of Bitcointalk the artistic representation that I made was based on the favicon of the forum in a 3D cardboard structure and that was wrapped in bolivar bills, according to the colors of the bills.

Why did I do it this way?  When I started my life in this forum and met BTC I learned how it was more useful and safe to manage my money in cryptocurrencies than to trust my country's own currency, even with the volatile that can be BTC, it was safer than letting my money to be devalued due to the inflation of this country. In this way, I learned that I could use my cryptocurrencies in other ways, I'm thankful for with the forum. This artistic representation reminds me of all of that.

Long live Bitcointalk.

I don't doubt that was Dash and Eth in March 2017, in that moment they didn't have much value but after, its price went up. I regret because I didn't buy many tokens, only a  few :,(

No other ether wallet than Myetherwallet.
No issues so far and you hold your private keys here and you can choose which you want to use for logging in. Just be careful as phishing sites are everywhere.

Yes. Better to bookmarked the MEW URL just to be sure.
And in the end of the day our wallets is all our liabilities so no one can blame if we get hack.
I love using MEW and been using it since I started here and I dont have any problems using this.
I just make sure that I save my private keys and wrote it on paper like what Im doing in my seeds so I have a better back up when things goes wrong.

I really like myetherwallet.com, this wallet is the only one and I haven't had problems with it at the moment. Besides it supports many other tokens, if you are interested in enlarging your Portfolio.  It's easy to use and for security I did the same, I wrote my private keys in my journal.

I had never thought about it, but it can be true. If they really understand how bitcoin works and its potential, could be easy and cheap for the government to buy a lot of Btc and hold them, it could be happening actually right now.  But I don't think that they are holding themfor some conspiracy kind of thing or something similar, only economic interests or maybe politicians.

Re: What Is Your Bitcoin Dream?

I want to move to another country, I'm going to study odontology, I'm going to have my own consulting room and also I want to open kind of a "cake shop". I'm going to have a pretty kitten. Obviously, I know that is not going to happen so fast and also, I know that I'm not going to get all of that just from Bitcoin, but at least the beginning.

My dream before Bitcoin was similar, but I know where to begin.

I use liqui to sell my tokens, after that I send the btc to Local Bitcoin and exchange it to Fiat. My advice to you is to find someone who buy your Bitcoin in a good price, that's all, good luck.

I have always thought that in this cryptocurrencies ecosystems we must have the capacity to facing correctly situations where could be a possibility of lossing money. It's like a bet, obviously, there are other factors than only luck, but if exist a something small guided for that. You must have a good stomach for these things. This is what I think

Re: How to market an ICO?
by
MissGrey
on 15/08/2017, 15:58:28 UTC
Given that the project heading to an ICO has really great potential, is well-elaborated (also in the white paper), and is lead by a credible, experienced team, you'll need:
- a robust landing page with right emphases and all relevant information, and
- a bunch of marketing activities using these instruments listed in another thread:
1. Classic PR - press releases, interviews, Q&A
2. Banner advertising - display ads for extensive reach
3. Influential marketing - connect with opinion leaders.
4. Social media - connect with audience & opinion leaders.
5. YouTube - statements from founders, project introduction.
6. Bounty campaigns - referrals showtime.
7. Placements in blogs - native advertising.
8. Viral media - videos or pictures.
9. Community marketing - you know, Bitcointalk.
10. Events - meetups, conferences etc.

Whitepaper? Hell with it, we will have an alpha version of complete working product!
Credible, Experienced Team? No Sad But we are ready to learn anything and every famous guy started at zero! And we are learning each day!
Landing page? Sure, easy peasy Smiley
Marketing? I have a fine knowledge of marketing and have done for few company, but I have not yet done for an ICO, which soon will change Wink

unfortunately, you cant get away from writing a whitepaper even if you have a working product. you need to address the token utility, your development roadmap, target market, business revenue, etc. there are many well-written whitepapers out there for reference. however as with most of the comments here, your business solution must make sense and $$.

Svyaznoy's list is quite comprehensive and worst case scenario, engage a digital media company to help with the PR. I approached a company recently on an upcoming ICO and was quoted US$150K~$500k depending on how far you are willing to go. I have done a fair bit of research over the past couple of months and i think cost could be managed to below US$50k for reasonable outreach. however bottomline, your solution must make sense. you cant even begin to imagine how many trolls out here that will trash your idea, accuse you of being a money-grabber, scam, etc etc.....

If you need help, you can PM me, hahaha hopefully i can share some positive experience in the next couple of months.
One thing that it is very important, I consider is keeping very informed to the project's follower community, keeping them up about new information. This gives credibility to the project. There always will be these people say that the project is scam, but if you do this, many people will give them their trust in that project

I don't know if someone already mentioned you but also there's another way do marketing for an ICO, you can offer bounty to those people that have a blog about cryptocurrencies for writing an article about project

Poloniex is too slow for withdrawals with ip addresses that you have never used. The best thing that you can do is cancel the withdraw and make again with an ip address that you always use.

Re: Buy BTC at one exchange, sell it more expensive at another?
by
MissGrey
on 19/06/2017, 23:48:54 UTC
Hey there,

is it possible to buy BTC cheaply at one exchange and sell it more expensive at another one? It seems to me that it might be actually possible.

What are challenges? Are people doing this?

Thank you!

This is very much possible to be done but for me I no longer thinks it worth the stress because at the end of the day one might end up making a loss considering the margin of the reputable exchange sites is not always much and it changes rapidly without any form of notification. Aside that the fees of transferring this coin from one exchange to the other might even erode the little profit and finally the wait period for it to confirm which might even render everything useless by the time it finally drops in the destination wallet, the price has dropped generally across board.
My brother was on the edge of losing all his money for making a trade of this kind. He put almost all his money in an exchange that he did not know only because he found that here coin that he is looking to invest was cheaper but when he tried to withdraw his money they did not allow it. In the end, he if succeeded but he was scared

Re: crypto is the future, make money of it

What do you think about the fact that cryptocurrencies will literally be the future ? In a few years, it will exploded and, be rich if we hold many ?

The question is which cryptocurrencies will survive in the long run. There are hundreds of them already and there are dozens with Market Cap over $1,000,000. But I doubt all of them will be active in the future, even the latter ones.
It's Right, We don't know if a day we are going to wake up and there is an ultimatum for all and everything ends, is improbable  but not impossible

Re: New rich people thanks to BTC
by
MissGrey
on 19/06/2017, 21:39:37 UTC
I have been making an analysis about how people is getting real rich thanks to the increse of BTC and it is amazing to think that people are getting real rich, lets hope and this will continue so the people that holds very little BTC also gets rich.

This is the analisis I made:

On February 1st 2015 you will need 4,219 BTC to have 1 million USD, now that is worth: 10,125,600 usd

On Febraury 1st 2016 you will need 2,681 BTC to have 1 million USD, now that is worth: 6,434,400 usd

On February 1st 2017 you will need 992 BTC to have 1 million USD, now that is worth: 2,380,800 usd

Today you need 404 BTC to have 1 million USD ( the person who has now 404 BTC it is millionaire, and in Feb 2015 just had with the same 404 BTC 95,757 USD

That is amazing.

I wonder what are the new rich people doing right know? have they realised that they are rich yet.

Many of them were already millionaries, they are just keeping their wealth safe in case fiat currencies plummet or an economic crisis takes place.
Yes, in fact, today I read an article by CriptoNoticias about a Norwegian investor that sold ALL his stocks in The Norwegian stock market and switched it all for Bitcoin. He has analyzed the market for severals year and he says that Bitcoin still doesn't touch the top. Personally, I think is a big risk that rich people have been taking for saving his wealth.

I will leave the article, it is in Spanish: https://criptonoticias.com/adopcion/all-in-bitcoin-inversionista-noruego-vendio-compro-criptomonedas/#axzz4jr0iD4Wm
