Seems rootkey is a standalone application rather than integrated with the Qt wallet.

er....a little disappointed.

I'm certain that Bitkey will be integrated to the qt wallet eventually =p

It is still in early alpha and is more of a proof of concept than anything at the moment it would seem.

the end. i ll be able to announce the release during the coming week.
i am also going to release an update for the RootCoin client in the next days [ROOT v2.1 - updated GUI, checkpoints, alert extension].

here s a small teaser. the GUI is already extended and a lil more complex than on the screenshots.

couple of classes and proj-view.

Fuck yeeeess!!! Forgive my language, but I am just so excited (and admittedly a bit relieved =P)!

Great work Bitsta, we knew you would come through =D

Buying more cheap ROOOOOOOT now =)

Thanks Bitsta  Grin

It's just so sad to see the fudders coming in here to kick this coin, and you, when it is down.

However on the plus side, I know they are only doing it because they know that once things turn around they will be able to pump for a profit!

Keep up your work Bitsta, I appreciate what you do and understand that you must he having a hard time right now. Persevere mate, we will get there.

Also, yes 50 Root per referral for the program sounds good to me  Cool

Btmimer and Georgeandy, this referral program has already been suggested several times and has been well received, why are you just speaking up now?

You are under no obligation to take part, so why do you care?

It's a simple attempt at a referral program to increase awareness and exposure for this coin. It does not harm you or the coin in any way, so why would you care?

Oh that's right, because you are here to FUD to push the price down for the pump when Bitkey is released, that's why..

dude, you suggested it 1 more time earlier and nobody reacted that it was good idea
this time 1-2 persons reacted, among them the dev who promised coins

maybe you should ask the ICG team how trustworthy dev is in paying. He ows them several btc but is not responding at all

Several people responded positively Bitsata included, not a single one negatively. I've also stated here numerous times that I will be posting the link to the spreadsheet soon, again not a single word from anyone objecting.

Funny now that there is all this FUD that we suddenly have a whole bunch of new objectors who haven't been posting in this thread until now..

is bitkey really legit?

is is a legit promis and delayed many times without any info from dev who is only deleting posts
maybe he will release bitkey at some time, but my guess is that nobody trust it anymore with such a silent dev
and suppose, bitkey is released...what is next? again promises, promises and delay after delay and no cummunication?

I am glad, I sold last week....this is going nowhere

Bitsta has been here, and has been communicating. Bitkey has been delayed several times, yes. But it is very close apparently and Bitsta has still been working on it.

If he wanted to run away he could have done that a long time ago.

He has nothing to gain by delaying further and hanging around. Bitkey is coming soon.

Hey guys, so here is the link to the document for the Rootcoin Referral Program:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1I2dTdOIoowKB5YcVPUfrLgw-kMuK6z8xhAhiZOCEqM0/edit#gid=0

The program will reward community members for encouraging a new Bitcointak user to download the Rootcoin wallet, purchase at least 1000 Rootcoin from an exchange, and then hold and stake those coins for at least 1 month. Once this has been verified as legitimate by myself, Bitsta, and Studio1one both the referrer and referee will receive a 50 Rootcoin reward for each 1000 coins purchased, up to a maximum of 100 Rootcoin per user (for 2000 Root purchased).

The rules of the program are as follows:

1. No newbie accounts.

Both the referrer and referee must have accounts at least a month old, and the referee must not be an existing root holder (May not have made any posts in this thread).

2. The coins must be bought from an exchange.

This should be fairly easy to verify via the txid and wallet addresses, as it is mainly just bittrex where Root is being traded currently.

3. The coins must be held either in cold storage or staked for at least one month from the initial transaction.

This can again be verified in the blockchain that the referee has not sold the coins again and then re-bought at a later stage to claim the reward.

4. People may only be referred once, and there is a limit of 5 referees per person.

I have personally offered up 500 Root from my own holdings towards this program, Bitsta has also offered up an additional 3500 Root. So currently there is 4000 Rootcoin up for grabs. These coins will be sent to a wallet of which the address will be made public, and only after verification by myself, Bitsta and Studio, will the rewards be transferred to the eligible recipients.

Feel free to share this post however you wish, and if anyone would care to support the program and to donate a few more Root to the fund then just PM me and I will give you the details of where and when to send the coins to the public wallet address.

Good luck!

Hey Bitsta and Studio, now would be a great time to announce something, or better yet release something!

Confidence is quite rapidly eroding the confidence of the market.

I'm sure that something must be very close to ready by now, just show us something, make a video and post it up at the very least. Or better yet an alpha release would be really great =)

As soon as something is done I will start up the referral program and get some new people interested and invested in this coin once confidence picks up.

morning Monkeys,

it s just like RootV2, or RootMobile. unplanned issues occur and you re forced to postpone a release.  I am screwing my.... trust me.
and i ll say it again: i am here and won't go anywhere. You will see bitkey soon.
I am working ONLY on BitKey at the moment and this is done non-stop. not much more i could post at the moment.
and tbh, i am just posting to reply to your post. those who know me personally are patiently waiting and quiet...
i apologize for the delays and will be more cautious with setting deadlines in the future.

have a nice day!

Thank you for the reply Bitsta, I totally understand mate =)

Good luck with your work and I hope to see Bitkey soon.

I will also start the referral program tomorrow, I intended to start it today but again due to unforeseen circumstances I also had a delay. No biggie, I'll get it happening soon.

Rootcoin will prevail.

Thanks for the reply Studio, I totally understand your concerns for the potentiual for abuse of my proposed referral program. Which is why I also proposed these basic rules which I believe would more or less eliminate most of potential for exploitation of the program:

4. People may only be referred once, and there shall be a limit of 'x' referees per person (maybe 5, 10?).

This is to minimize the possibility of any exploitation of the program.

I feel like if all of these rules are followed and monitored closely by the community then it should become apparent quite quickly if anyone is attempting to exploit it.

Prize draws aren't enough of an incentive IMO, if people think "Well ok I have a one in 100 chance of winning x amount of coins" then they aren't going to do anything about it most probably. It would be cool for current bag holders, but not really do much to incentivize new people to take part I think. Whereas is people are have the guarantee that they will receive an extra 50 coins (or whatever number, that is open to suggestion) if they stake for a month (or however long) then I fell like they might be more incloned to actually do it, and also the referrer needs an incentive, which is an additional 50 coins for themselves.

If someone can give me a realistic example of how these rules could be significantly exploited to the detriment of the coin then I will gladly hear it, but as it stands I don't see any good reason why it isn't worth at least giving it a try  Smiley

looks like a great plan. first of all, thanks for your time and the appreciated gesture. i ll check your scheme properly tonight
and give you a more detailed feedback. And i am also adding 1000 ROOT from my holdings and 2500 freshly bought ROOT
to the bounty-funds.

Hey now we're talkting! Thanks Bitsta! Glad to hear that you are on board with the idea and have generously put forward your hard earned Rootcoin too!  Grin

I will prepare a google spreadsheet to track the usernames, txid's, wallet addresses and dates etc. I'll also make a formal post with the rules and instructions for taking part in the program.

One things that needs to be finalized, is the purchase amount and bounty. Is everyone happy with 1000 Root purchased for a 50 Root reward? Or should we go a little larger, say 2000 root with 100 reward?

I'm open to suggestion on that and all aspects of the prgram  Grin

i like it, gets the community involved and hopefully new people to realize the benefits of the coin and technology.
Thanks Vampiro!

Glad to hear that the idea has at least one other supporter =P

Would you be willing to donate at Rootcoin to the cause? That's ok if not, but every little bit helps.

I think it goes without saying that the coins should be held in a community monitored 'escrowed' wallet.

I'd also like to draw up a few simple rules for the referral program:

1. No newbie accounts.

Both the referrer and referee must have accounts at least a month old, and the referee must not be an existing root holder (May not have made any posts in this thread).

2. The coins must be bought from an exchange.

This is to minimize the possibility of any exploitation of the program.

I would also appoint myself, Studio1one and another member of the Root community to verify and detect any exploitation of the program.

So, what do we think?

I completely understand that coding takes longer than predicted, almost always. I know a few coders of different sorts and they are always, without fail, missing deadlines!

I don't exactly understand what it is, definitely procrastination seems to play a big part, but also obviously there are always ubnforseen hurdles and bugs in the code which can take a long time to figure out.

It's cool though, I really hope we get a taste of what is to come soon!

Also, I've talked about this here before, and I think it is time to discuss it again. What about some sort of competition or incentive for people to buy and hold coins?

I've suggested some sort of community managed bounty for anyone who refers a new member (someone who hasn't posted in this thread at all, but not a newbie account) and convinces them to download the wallet and buy at least 1000 Root and stake for at least 1 month. Then they can receive a bounty from the community, something in the order of 50 Root each or so (50 for the referrer and for for the referree).

I know it might sound a bit tacky or whatever, but I honestly think it is worth a try. I will offer up 500 Root from my own holdings to contribute to the rewards / bounties. If we can get another 5 - 10 people to offer up some coins for bounties then we could theoretically get another 30 - 40 even more new people involved in Root and holding coins. This would ensure security of the network, increase the price somewhat, and also keep trade volumes up! Look at the volume now, less than 1 BTC in 24 hrs on Bittrex...

Whats the worse that could happen? Either nobody takes part, and the coins don't get handed out, or people do take part and then most of them dump their coins after 1 month and take their small reward, also really not that bad of an outcome. I am confident that if enough people get involved and hold for 1 month, that within that time the release of Bitkey and the imminent development of Rootex will be enough to hold their interest and they will continue to buy and hold more Root!

What do you think Studio?

Good to hear ur back Bitsta. Sorry for venting my frustrations earlier, but as everyone here agrees it is only the lack of communication that we are worried about. I still have every coin from day one, not even bothered to dump and buy back lower during the few pumps since I don't want to hurt the coin!

As long as you can keep up the communication, I think twice a week is fine daily is way overkill, then people here will wait patiently.

Also as a long time community member here I would also be happy to put my hand up to discuss any new strategies for marketing and tweaking the sneak previews etc. I have quite a bit of experience with sales and marketing and I believe that things like sneak previews and teasers are really important to build momentum for the release of a new feature.

If done right, delays can even be spun to be a good thing when you instead give a teaser and SHOW what is coming and that even though it is taking time, it is coming and it is going to be great =)

The scam is on. Holiday before release and nothing even said? WTF? Time to DUMP!
Now settle down. He did announce that he would be taking a few days off and he has touched base since.

If Bitsta was pulling a scam he would have disappeared a long time ago. He has hung around and has been releasing updates long after he got the IPO coins.

He is genuine and will come through in the end. He just needs to be better with his communication  Grin
