EDON works if your looking for a scam ICO coin name, otherwise...just sayin.

Not necessarily true. If you look at formation of the name you will see the point of the project. But the again it is a niche so if you don't know what Node is, you will struggle with EDON.

But it is not the worst possible name, certainly.

@Moor

Thank You and Welcome to the Team! Replied with the further instruction!

By the way, do you have a provisional Name for this coin we are building? or some fancy nickname we could attribute?

In the Chat we are referring to it as EDON - the opposite of NODE! But is not yet official, it should be decided in the quorum.

Let me throw the truth: EDON sounds like some gay Scottish bastard, but it makes sense when you attribute it to Node, i think we could work with this name.

Re: are altcoins dead?
by

on 01/11/2015, 14:38:26 UTC
Alts are not dead, if you think about it the bitcoin ecosystem is relying on them, as we don't have massive influx in commerce, so the gap is filled with alts.

We have cross -trading, arbitrage and exchange hips thanks to them. Even if the damn alts are just temporary pain relief, they should exist in order to perceive the future benefits!

I would like to join your team. I have a fruitful experience with other coins. This is my second profile on this website, and i use my primary profile to be a part of a very popular crypto, i manage their head thread. I think that your idea will be very successful and i would like to be a part of your endeavor.

Due to the conflict of interests i cannot disclose my primary profile, or the crypto thread that i'm managing.
But i have to mention: I'm in no way a developer, just a skilled journalist, and i would be happy to give you guys a hand for a stake in the project.

I do accept the fact that you will not be able to pay me in anyway at the moment, so i will do this at my own risk. This is what i offer:
  • Mange threads on Bitcointalk and other forums that are attracting cryptofolks.
  • Give Press Releases and communicate with People.
  • Help with Copyrighting, and information gathering.
  • Promote your project to interested parties
  • I'm a member in a Chinese group of altcoin investors, and you will benefit of my relationship.

Consider me as a valuable member, and we will make this happen.

Feel free to ask any questions.

Very interesting, this is actually an offer that i can't say no to.
I would like you to be a member of the team on the condition that i can trust you and your skills. I don't want to make a decision that could potentially backfire. In order to gain my trust i would like you to pm me the information regarding yourself, your other username and this conflict of interest, and how it will affect our project.

Re: Direct download link to the Andreas Antonopoulos @ London Real podcast episode?

Another typical  Andreas Antonopoulos interviews were he tells us that bitcoin isn't the bitcoin 2009 anymore and that bitcoin can change the global economic market. I would find it interesting if he did a debate with varoufakis about bitcoin.

Where can I see this interview? Skinte please link Smiley

Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin?
by
MoorChael
on 24/08/2015, 17:18:18 UTC
Shifting coins between alt and btc on an exchange can give you nice results Smiley

Still has high risks though. Isn't dependable for a long period of time. You need to have a good sense on decision making on which coin to hold and dump. But yeah, it can help you grow your btc. Wink

The risk is always there. Those who do not risk does not increase the Bitcoin Smiley Thank you I will try!

Re: What is big problem in using of bitcoin
by
MoorChael
on 24/08/2015, 17:07:48 UTC
The main problem of Bitcoin is its vulnerability .. by that i mean it is too easy for a skilled hacker to take out coins from people who are new to it or even average users too and when looking from the other side it is also vulnerable as the rates literally fuctuates about 40% every month ..this is something that is beneficial for the people who are into trading but for the rest of the people who use it for other purposes rather than trading might have to face the worst circumstances.

^^ This! Security is still the main problem and the biggest challenge for the mainstream adoption in my opinion. People just suck in online security, that is proven numerous times. We need to progress a lot in this field if we want the average Joe to put his hands on bitcoins. I mean, Bitcoin is not bank that they will reimburse you if you get hacked. Here, when you screw over you have screwed and lost your coins.

Interestingly Bitcoin insurance provides for reimbursement of the stolen funds?

Re: Why Bitcoin Core needs to die

I think that once the bitcoin core is forked it should be removed from github. The developers need to make a final change and final version so people can't mess with the bitcoin core and change the path of bitcoin. This way bitcoin will stay more decentralized.

Yeah you know what: the raftsmen were very decentralized too - and due to techical evolution they are long gone.
Beeing "decentralized" does not mean that you can stop to evolve and to become better over time....

I agree but if people can change the bitcoin core, then its not decentralized anymore. As you said 3 of 5 bitcoin core developers are bought out from a company , and they will do what the company tells them to. They will change the bitcoin core so the company benefits and not the bitcoin community. We should remove any right to change or modify the bitcoin protocol from one or more people.

I agree needs stability and more centralization. People will be satisfied and only increase the number of users Smiley

Re: Why i think Bitcoin will ultimately change or fail: Speed of evolution
by
MoorChael
on 24/08/2015, 16:24:48 UTC
Two things.

First, more developers doesn't always result in faster development or higher quality code, because building a good team is not a simple task. There is an old saying: "if you make 9 women pregnant, you won't get baby in a month". This applies to engineering in general (and software development in particular) very well.

Second, working for money and working for an idea are two different things. The former can be influenced, (mis-)directed and manipulated, the latter cannot. If you don't believe in what you are doing and don't get paid, there is no reason to continue. If you do continue, though, then you know what you're doing.

I partially agree. But in the team performance increases significantly. And find a solution to problems encountered much easier. Of course, provided that the team worked well. "One head it's good, but two better" Smiley

Re: How traceable is bitcoin?
by
MoorChael
on 23/08/2015, 20:27:13 UTC
there are traces left in bitcoin network that may allow people or organization to link transactions and addresses to people.

for example, if you are in a exchange and send your docs to buy and sell bitcoin.

and your IP is revealed to the peers when you send a transaction if you don't mask your IP

As you can disguise your IP?
