Re: What difference does pegging crypto to the SDR make?
by
MoreStamps.Global

Well, I have looked into it and I found it interesting as well. Projects like Benchmark are a little bit difficult to understand from an investment point of view. An ordinary investor will certainly face difficulties in understanding the concept. So, what I can suggest to the team is to create a motion graphic explainer video and explain with a real example.

Coming to the point, IMF seems quite old and well-established. I actually like the concept of SDR. The main reason behind adoring DSR will be backed with the world's top currencies which will absolutely vanish the volatility. Yes, stable coins indeed do that as well but how are they backed? For example, if we take USDT from a pegging perspective, investors will have to think about the following points:

  • 20B circulation with nothing backed
  • No proof of funds either
  • Banking partner on the Bahamas
  • Lawsuits are pending
  • No physical operation location
  • Without any regulation
  • Prints n x USDT like feds

Check this thread entirely: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5301025.0

So, similar to XRP, if SEC starts investigating Tether, the situation to projects pegged to USDT will face high intensive price volatility. So, I think pegging to SDR concept makes difference in terms of the long-term value of any project.

Yeah, that is true. USDT can become a nightmare if touched by SEC. So, overall what do you think of SDR being pegged to DeFi?

Re: Eth 2.0 Staking on Binance
by

on 30/12/2020, 17:54:20 UTC
Hi,
I am looking to stake some ETH at binance but I have some questions and confusions which I want to clear before starting, from the community here:

1) How often staking rewards are shared?
2) How secure it is to park our ETH in binance for staking?
3) What if the funds are hacked or stolen? Any insurance or coverage guarantee by binance?
4) Is there a decentralized method to stake eth where we can park our ETH in our private wallet to stake?
5) Are there better and more lucrative alternatives to stake ETH available other than Binance?

I hope active users and experienced community members in this regard will help with these questions.
Regards!

1) You will get to know this in January, I think as reward from the launch of the service will be counted tomorrow and distributed in January.
2) Compared to other stacking services, Binance is better. They have capability to bear loss out of their pocket.
3) Not mentioned anywhere but at least you can directly ask Binance to reveal public address of validators they will be running on beaconchain.
4) If you are willing to have a validator node while parking your ETH in other wallet, I don't think that this is possible. Or, maybe I evaluated this question wrong. Which one is it?
5) I would prefer Binance instead of going with lucrative services.

Re: You want something good as UNISWAP and 1inch ?

My biggest regret will be those two projects that I got a chance to participant in but I didn't. My friends got over 2500$ just by doing a single trade in uniswap. Now I am trying to find a similar project that could provide airdrop like those two. I do not want to miss any project from now and I have already found some potential ones.

Is there anymore except listed here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5276937? If yes, you can comment in that thread so that OP can update the list and bitcointalkers can get benefitted.

I'll try not to miss this one, but are there any specific conditions regarding this airdrop?
what is the minimum trading volume we have to make to qualify?
although it looks a bit strange but it doesn't hurt to try your luck  Wink

There aren't certain conditions yet. However, I will suggest you to trade over $100 in any market. Ahh! I forgot to tell you that you can trade min. 1 ETH under spot market. You are covered with the probable condition in this case, I think.

What difference does pegging crypto to the SDR make?
by
MoreStamps.Global
on 30/12/2020, 04:27:00 UTC
Hey fellas!

So, I was researching some DeFi and introduced the term SDR through one project called Benchmark Protocol. They are pegged to the special drawing rights - SDR instead of the USD or other currencies.

So, have you heard of SDR before? Well, According to IMF,  "The SDR is an international reserve asset, created by the IMF in 1969 to supplement its member countries' official reserves. So far SDR 204.2 billion (equivalent to about US$281 billion) have been allocated to members, including SDR 182.6 billion allocated in 2009 in the wake of the global financial crisis. The value of the SDR is based on a basket of five currencies—the U.S. dollar, the Euro, the Chinese renminbi, the Japanese yen, and the British pound sterling."

So, what do guy think of difference we (crypto) can make when pegged to SDR?

We see in this mounths that many dex exchanges like uniswap badger and 1inch lunch their own tokens and give a massiv airdrop to all the connected adresses

Founder of dydx said in an interview that the platform will lunch a token maybe in the beggening of the new year and i advice everyone to connect their wallet before its too late
I heard that Paraswap may have an airdrop too. One AMM that people aren't aware of is Mooniswap. They are run by the same dev team as 1inch and they haven't released their token yet. I have been making trades on multiple wallets for 0xMR in preparation for the Mooniswap airdrop.

Trades of how much amounts? How's your experience with these two?

Mostly they are not asking for high trade I think 100$ of trades is good enough as long you add liquidity in their exchange then you can be qualified if ever they make an airdrop. The only thing that I don't like about this kind of airdrop is they don't announce it even in their social media channel it is like a surprise rewards for it's users that why only few people are able to claim free tokens that they are given.

May I know what kind of trade did you made there? I think spot trade with ETH/USDT(C) will be fine. Well, Twitter is a good source of quick information. Just follow someone who covers this type of news and you will be good.

If you provide information, please put a link to the announcement, so that interested people can read more about the information you mention, and do they share coins with people who have made transactions? many people hunt and exchange dex exchanges and hope to get such an airdrop

For now there is no official information but most propably the token lunch will happen...there is nothing that can make dydx not lunching their own token just like the other dex swap platforms

You maybe find what you want her

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cryptoglobe.com/latest/2020/11/crypto-analyst-says-dydx-airdrop-could-be-bigger-than-uniswap/amp/

1:40 of uniswap volume, 1:6 of 1inch exchange volume. I doubt that this airdrop will be bigger. Maybe because of more strict rules (like min 1000$ volume). Have you used this dex? It doesn't looks legit to me. Orderbook moves too fast for 9 mln $ DEX.
BTW First time I see DEX with margin and perpetual contracts.

I made two trades here. Having used many reputed exchanges including DEX ones, I certainly call dydx is a shit DEX. Just look at the ridiculous fees they are charging on small trades. We can't edit gas when depositing to dydx smart contract which further increases fees. Yes, I know that network is experiencing traffic at the moment but I paid $10 fees to just deposit my ether to dydx smart contract. Well, I am not gonna use it again unless they airdrop their native tokens!

Re: ICO, IEO! Which one do you want to return again?
by

I would prefer ICO because most of the time IEO are instantly filled up. ICO back then is powered by the community while IEO its the whales that are buying the token.

I agree with this. IEO was just money making tool for exchanges and whales. Instead, we used to get a clear picture of investments in ICOs.

Re: BTCOIN New ATH PLUS NEW RECORD AND TODAYS HISTORY
by
MoreStamps.Global
on 28/12/2020, 16:19:52 UTC
There are still more to overcome, we still need to gain the $50,000 or $100k to really say we've achieve the multi year bull run and the 4 year cycle upwards momentum. We still need to develop Bitcoin adoption towards companies and governments. We can see that one by one multi billion companies are stepping into the world of Crypto. Its baby steps but we're getting there.
Sooner or later Bitcoin will be appreciated by bigger companies and starting to adopt because it's inevitable although Bitcoin is still 10 years old but it is gaining a lot of attention to people already. More and more regulations needed if we want Bitcoin to be considered as a means of investment and that would be the start of worldwide adoption. Maybe we could see that $100k in the near future if more and more bigger companies starting to adopt Bitcoin.

I myself never believed $100k valuation of one bitcoin, tbh. But looking at current ATH breakings, that too with a couple of investment firm involved, I think $100k is nothing if bigger institutions hope in.

Re: Are people buying BTC @ $27000+ idiots?
by
MoreStamps.Global
on 28/12/2020, 16:17:16 UTC
Could have bought it in March this year for sub $4000.

Downside risk is much greater now than it was earlier this year.

Is it the mentally challenged that are getting fleeced right now.

You could have mined a lot of BTC entirely on CPU power back in 2010. Did you do it? Have you become an idiot now?
People buying BTC at $27k have just come to know about Bitcoin and they will have a look at the historical price of Bitcoin. So, according to one proverb - "It's morning whenever you wake up", they are not idiots. In fact, they did something amazing today. Just because the time is wrong, it doesn't hold true to judge someone as an idiot.

Haha! A great explanation. I think judging someone too early especially in crypto space is not right thing do.

Re: Are Bitcoin's fees overpriced?
by
MoreStamps.Global
on 25/12/2020, 08:47:25 UTC
It is indeed. It took $11.12 for my yesterday's transaction. I mean this is not something I will use regularly. But if I compare it to PayPal - a leading payment processor, it is justifiable. They charges flat 7% fees on any transactions. On top of that, it further cuts the payment while transferring received payments into local currency. So, I think Bitcoin is a great solution but having it used often, I do consider that the current fee is high.

Mainstream media, multinational corporations and financial experts are at it again! Bitcoin and cryptocurrency is all I seem to be reading about recently again and again in verywhere that I look, cryptocurrency and blockchain technology is obviously in the spotlight again

This is obvious. Main stream media covers Bitcoins and cryptocurrency news when they hit ATH and crypto market hits a great marketcap. Otherwise, they even tell people to stay away from such things.

My questions for bitcoiners and financial advisers: Are you advising your friends and clients to invest in cryptocurrencies or are you even just assisting them to get into the asset class? Alternatively, are you telling them to avoid the tech maybe due to the potential impact of Covid-19?

I insist close people to get in while explaining risks but I don't think there exist 100% loss risk over 5 years of time. So, if they want to be in this space for long term, I help this purchase. Otherwise, I don't talk this at all because of one shitty experience. When we start explaining the tech, they think that we are bunch of shady broker who are here for cuts which I in fact never charge nor I will. I let them to think the same. No hard feelings!

Nope.

Surviving on this solely is extremely difficult. Instead, I would rather secure my constant income from something trusted/secured and when i have enough, I may try this. Besides, during bull run, it makes very difficult to live on this strategy solely.

A limited supply makes bitcoin extremely valuable to me. On top of that, governments have no control on supply either. No matter what kind of KYC/AML they introduce, it is gonna be the biggest ROI on any volume of investment.
