Hmm my coins mined per block seems to be halved from yesterday. Are other people experiencing this or should i inspect my miner?

One of the features of this coin is that the coins per block depends on the difficulty.
Since the hashrate went down, the difficulty went down, and also the coins per block.

I just meant that I was curious about the value, lol. I'm not selling any time soon.

What is the going rate for Syncoin?

I don't think it's going yet? Anyways, no idea... But indeed some indication would be nice.

Relaxedsense, are you sure you want to allocate 200% of your GPUs? Tried with a little less? It complains that it can't find a queue, which suggests that it either has compile errors (unlikely) or that it couldn't put the required work in the queue, which means the GPU choked at what you fed it.

Who came up with that 200% thing anyway? Nice joke but it's starting to spread a bit too far now.

Why is tx fee so high right now? Shouldn't it also be proportional to net hashrate or something like that?

Good suggestion! Will be added to to-do list for next update.

UPDATE: P2POOL CRASH HAS BEEN RESOLVED

syncoin,

There still is a bug in the file:
https://github.com/syncoin-project/syncoin/blob/master/p2pool_files/p2pool_networks.py

Under the syncoin entry it reads:
Code:
BOOTSTRAP_ADDRS=''.split('24.51.213.165'),

And that should be:
Code:
BOOTSTRAP_ADDRS='24.51.213.165'.split(' '),

Possibly with a few extra bootstrap addresses. Note the space in split(' ').
After that you can set PERSIST=True.

YOUR REWARD FOR THIS IS BTC0.10

That's... About... $60 or 45 Euros. Really? For all that work? LOL

And besides, aren't multipools considered a bad thing here? With a limited hashrate the effects wouldn't be that bad, but who says he won't upscale at some point in the future?

After much deliberation with a fellow dev, we have come to a conclusion...

SynCoin will NOT relaunch!

Poll has been taken down as well. Victory with 59-47.
Motion to not relaunch passed.

Thank you.

Personally I think a relaunch is more trouble than it's worth. I might have had a few more coins if it had launched correctly but given the curent block rewards I'm happy to just keep going.

(And I know I might be getting a bit annoying here; but a fixed p2pool would be nice  Grin Do try to get some rest at some point though.)

BTW, is "I don't care, I just want more pools to be there at launch" considered as "Yes" or "No"?

wc-miner,

I don't know if you're used to linux and messing with conf files and the such, but it is doable to run your own p2pool.
It won't connect to peers yet, but it does run and it does generate coins. They take a while to mature though.

Edit: Ah, I see you're sorted now. Awesome!
Hmm, linux isn't too odd for me and I mess with configs all the time. So, are you talking about trying solo mining? If yes, that might not be bad idea, but I still prefer pools.

I have idea. Lets send our coins to dev's wallet, and if he would do relaunch then he need to send us back the same amount, otherwise he need to send us back our coins and we can donate 1% of them to him.
What?!

Well, see my comment above... It does work to some extend, but it won't connect to peers. So it feels like soloing with a p2pool-site as front-end.
It doesn't work out of the box though, I needed to move a few files around and rename others. Nothing big. If you're interested I can run through my bash-history to see what I did.

(Was before my first cup of coffee so my built-in memory didn't function yet.)

syncoin,

Could you let us know when you've fixed the p2pool code? I'll periodically check the GitHub page, but just in case.

Right now it kind of feels like I'm soloing with a nice GUI. It does work though.

And how do you intend to get everyone to send their coins back?
I bet a lot of people aren't even following this thread.

I believe this could be a long term coin - relaunch isn't necessary and wouldn't practically benefit anyone economically. It could make things clearer and fairer but I think it's enough it works now.

Congratulations! You have 20 coins out of 250,000,000,000.
You are really a big stakeholder. Keeping mining.

You just confirmed my opinion. Nice that you agree with me. And yes, I could keep on mining if there was better pools for SYN. Official pool starts to piss me off. I have received only some random payments and can't find my stats anywhere. Informing about shares, etc. is worse than in middlecoin.com  Roll Eyes

By the way, I voted NO. If I get bribes for it, put it in there:

SYN: SYkrRLCJNDqpWh4hYCjV9s3FE9TYanvVV7

I've seriously tried to support SynCoin. Seems like a nice concept.

syncoin,

I managed to get the p2pool up and running after some a few minutes of trying,
and seems to be working fine. (Block-time estimate is at 4-5 hours though?)

Now when looking at the graphs my 'local pool speed' is 53%, the 'global pool speed' is at 47%.
So am I one of two people who managed to get p2pool running, or did I do something wrong here?

(I find it a bit hard to believe that no one (Ok, one person) else set up a p2pool of his own...)

P2Pool is set on PERSIST=False, so they can't connect to each other. I'll investigate the issue.

Can I set it to TRUE myself in networks.py, or will that mess something up?

so there is no working stratum pools yet? this is bad...

Well no source means no pools... Other than the devs own pool that is.

No pool,No countdown,No wallet.Everything terrible!

READ THE POST. READ THE TITLE. READ.

LOL, calm down syncoin, relax, grab something to drink...

It is absolutely unbelievable how many people refuse to read the first post of an announcement.
Have a look at the vertcoin thread for example, at their first post. Then look at how many people scream that cgminer doesn't work...

In fact prepare for a lot of "SCAM!!11!!" posts when you switch to scrypt variable-n. You'll probably have to explain it at least once per page.

Keep it up!

So how does this auto-transitioning work? Will people need to switch miners then?

are you using vertminer for the variable-n part? Or is variable-n different from adaptive-n?
