Re: What is the safest way to store Bitcoins?
by

Offline. Put the wallet .dat files on a usb stick and keep them safe.
The wallet must have never been on a computer that has connections to the internet before. Doing so may result in your private key being compromised in the event that there is a virus infection.

No it doesn't. All you need is to make sure your computer is safe. If you use a computer that is only ever used for bitcoin transactions then there likely isn't going to be any issues.

How well does Technical Analysis perform?

It doesn't. Like the title of the subforum would suggest it is pure speculation and someone cannot predict the price if the coin either ten minutes from now or ten years and that's why I usually just disregard any discussion on the price. Only time will tell really.

Re: IS UFO or ALIENS are real ?
by

on 07/09/2015, 13:05:00 UTC
People who doesn't believe in alien existence are in these 2 cases:
1)Fear them
2)Too much selfesteem.

Um what. Where is your logic in this? Not beliving in something wont stop people from fearing them. People fear many things that do not exists god, satan, ghosts, the boogie man etc.

I will just ask this question:
Prove me that we are the only humanoids in this galaxy.
No alien stuff, just prove me we are the only smart intelligence that is been able to build computer and internet.

Can you prove that we are not? No.

Re: Are you holding your bitcoin for a price increase?
by
Mr Crabs

I decided to hold for a couple of years at least. I can see the potential bitcoin can give to certain industries but it will take time to get adopted by them. I don't plan to sell them for fiat but would like to spend them on things I want  but that will also take time for merchant adoption to go mainstream.

Re: What's your biggest problem with Bitcoin
by
Mr Crabs
on 23/08/2015, 13:04:17 UTC
my biggest problem with bitcoin is hard to earn bitcoin
but its okay though just be patient and wait for right time

Are you sure,is it hard to earn bitcoin ?
believe it or not when you posted this post you've earned amount of satoshi,
so i think its not hard to earn bitcoin, right?

Agreed. It's not that hard to make bitcoins especially because of this forum, though if you want to earn a substantial amount you would have to put in a lot of effort but you don't get many things in life without working for them.

There are not much places in my city where I can spend bitcoins. Just one bar.

Then save them? Why would you want to spend them right now? I want to keep mine until it is possible to spend them at many places and by that time they should be worth much more.

We all know that Altcoins are hurting bitcoin in big way.

They're not. They have no influence on the price of bitcoin but if they did there would be nothing anyone could do about it.

hi guys..please teach me how to earn bitcoin.. Cheesy Wink

How do you normally earn money? Work for it. If you have anything to sell list it on the marketplace, but the easist way is to join a signature campaign but don't spam or post rubbish otherwise you'll get banned.

Haven't earned 1btc yet myself Sad hopefully I will sometime this year though, been earning lots of fractions however which is great, even though being a millionaire with 1BTC would mean hyperinflation, if you can earn 1btc a day you're going to be very well off.

It shouldn't be that difficult to earn 1bitcoin in a month for you as a Legendary member. I don't think many people will earn 1bitcoin a day though unless they run a bitcoin business or are miners.

Re: All the bubbles were fake?
by
Mr Crabs
on 01/08/2015, 16:29:32 UTC
It's entirely possible the bubbles were manipulated sadly. Maybe that's a good thing though. Bitcoin needs time to grown and not just shoot up and down on a whim.

I don't understand why he would use an account to buy at a surplus rate and not use other accounts to sell at those rates. I.e. why not buy and sell from himself? That way he would not need to include fiat in the equation at all. Buying from his customers would mean having to produce fiat.

Well he needed the fiat coming in and it didn't matter about money going out because he blocked the withdrawls so no money went out eventually and that's how people lost pout because there was no real money or coins.

Rap, lol

Listening to rappers talking about their own money. What a sheer waste of time

That's just like saying all bitcoiners are greedy and only care about money or that bitcoin is a ponzi scam or something just because the mainstream says that. True most mainstream rap is crap but there's plenty of underground conscious or political rappers that are the opposite of the mainstream.

Re: Bitcoin is NOT a currency debate!
by
Mr Crabs
on 15/07/2015, 18:08:21 UTC
Hmm currency.

Is bitcoin a store of valuy? I guess not? The only intrinsic value it has is the ability to move value around.

You can store value in it. Even fiat currency fluctuates. If you store your fiat money in a bank it likely wont have the same purchasing power by the time you retire.

If you do not exchange value into bitcoin i.e. USD/BTC it would be worthless.

Wrong. You can buy plenty of things with it or just hold it as an investment. Is fiat money worthless if you don't spend it?

it is a medium of exchange, which does not make a currency. Blockchain is a payment rail and bitcoin is medium of exchange.

It's all of those things.

Or explain to me what makes it a currency?

The fact that you can buy things with it and people accept it as payment for things, therefore a currency.

Re: Can we afford to lose touch with money?
by
Mr Crabs
on 15/07/2015, 18:04:35 UTC
Question 1 : If Bitcoin or Crypto currencies replace fiat, would you spend more or less?

Question 2 : Do you think physical contact with your money, makes you spend less?

Question 3 : Would we have less debt, if we paid for everything in fiat?

1) Depends what the climate and value of bitcoin is. If the price is high then I'd spend, but if it keeps rising I'd probably save.
2) No, but I can see how people would get carried away with credit cards and spend money they don't have. Money in your pocket in a wad of notes always seems like more than just numbers on a screen.
3) Not really, unless you mean people don't pay on credit cards. People could still take out loans though.

Wait,I'm confused here. If BTCBLOGGER had control of the account and did so to 'protect it' doesn't that mean he made this scammy loan request? I doubt the account was hacked, then BTCBLOGGER regained it because the hacker didn't change the pass again. Can someone clarify here?

Re: Is it better to save money or invest it?
by
Mr Crabs
on 15/07/2015, 14:01:54 UTC
if you want to invest it, you have to take the risk. but save money is not a good idea, i believe.

Saving with yourself is not a bad idea , if you're saving in a bank , you're only losing money because of the high inflation situation. It is better to put your money in a good and reliable investment like bitcoin. Of course you have to risk it to get the biscuit. But sometimes you have to lose something to gain something. risking some security for more possible money in the future is a better option

You seem to contract yourself there and use some bizarre logic. You might lose purchasing power due to deflation over time with fiat but you can also lose it due to crashes with bitcoin. In fact you could lose it all so why take the risk of losing everything when nothing is guaranteed with bitcoin? A better option would be to diversify or don't put all your eggs in one basket.

One of my favorites is Lowkey a political rapper from London. Check him out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBNeD57-RVg

I'm inspired by the musics of eminem and slim shady.

You do know they're the same people, right?

Re: How can bitcoin be used in shops, if payments take so long to process?

Once the money is sent its as good as received. How is someone going to manage to double spend? Run around the corner and try send the same money again? Why are you not asking the same questions about shops and credit cards? The money can always get chargebacked something like up to six months later so are you worried about that?

Re: Newbie's point of view / Suggestions needed
by
Mr Crabs
on 03/06/2015, 13:40:59 UTC
After this small experience of mine, today i read some posts about the "bitcoin death" or the possible split of bitcoin with bitcoin xt.
Not sure exaclty if i fully understand it on the technical side but some people think that it would be better and some people think would be worst for the future of bitcoin.
From a total noob's point of view tho it not good cause its makes people more skeptical and more difficult to invest in bitcoin.

Those people proclaiming the death of bitcoin are just trolls; ignore them.

I would advise staying away from faucets as they're a waste of time. You'd be better using that time trying to earn regular money then buying bitcoins with it. I'd also avoid cloud mining as well. You can make a little from it but it takes time and many sites are scams. You sound like you got there in the end with bitcoin so well done.
