Re: Altcoins You Think will Grow
by

Don't really understand why for instance Neo would grow in price again. There is not much there asside from speculation right?

It's the same for Eth really, but at least Eth has mass adoption within the crypto sphere. Don't really see any other token taking it over.

Tokens which should rise because they are now low (and higher previously), its madness really when you think about it.

Projects need to add real value, either in the crypto sphere or b2b etc and then the value will grow steady and will keep high (instead of pump and dump).

My money is on Eth (mass adoption in the cryptosphere) and Vechain (more speculative at this moment but looks set for mass adoption b2b).

Re: Bitcoin failed as a currency
by

In current state it's failed as a currency, mainly because expensive & slow transactions (from crypto currency perspective) and volatility. Don't really see this changing in the future.

Bitcoin could (like people have suggested) serve as a store of value like gold but btc as of the past couple of months has not been really a safe haven in this respect (since price all over the place).

Re: Ethereum under $400 will be a good buy or ?
by
MrBlack001

Price of ETH is still based entirely on speculation isnt it. Most will acknowledge that Eth is something special in the crypto sphere but how to put a price on it? Deducing that price should go up (at lets say usd 400) because at one point it was USD 1200 is faulty logic imo. At some point ETH was also USD1 (or lower), it could have peaked to never reach it's ath again.

So is USD 400 a good price? No idea to be honest.

Re: [ANN] [ICO] [EXCHANGE] Blockchain.io, Your Gateway to the Internet of Value

Blockchain.io will bring professionalism and accountability to the Crypto market.

Together with partner Paymium I am sure they will reach their goal: to be the number 1 Cryptocurrency exchange in 2020.

What I especially like are the features highlighted by Blockchain.io:

1) Focus on being ultra secure and decentralised so our funds will be stored safely;
2) Fully compliant including being audited: Cryptocurrency is as of now the 'Wild West' so it is good that the team realises this and focusses on complying with regulators;
3) Propelling ICO's by offering a platform for their tokens.

The team looks very professional and will be able to reach the set goals. With a lot of exchanges having bugs are poor customer support an exchange with is truly ran like a professional business focussing on satifying their customers, there is room for a project like this!

I wish the team the best on their journey to reach their goals and I will keep an eye on progress made!

Said before here but when blood runs in the street and everybody is scared, good time to invest. Just have balls of steel and don't forget that taking profit never made anybody poorer (learned that when investment went 300% and then back to 50% Smiley)

Shame the crypto sphere is mostly a slot machine nowadays. I would say: invest in a project (or a couple) which you see as having really a lot of potential (not price wise but in use case, do your research), invest in it and hold. Old fashioned i guess :-)

What I always also do is check what the various websites which review ICO's say about the project (Icoalert, icobench, icotracker etc).

Re: Why do we need to regulate digital money
by
MrBlack001
on 03/06/2018, 20:39:43 UTC
Regulation is needed because else there won't be mass adoption.

It will then remain the hideout of small retail investors like us, some hedge funds & venture capital and then off course criminals using (true) anonymus altcoins.

With prices mainly driven by speculation, pump & dump groups and whales planning the direction. This will not draw in the masses.

I was more or less 'in love' with Neo for a while. Then a couple of months ago their blockchain several times stopped producing blocks (some node problems) and following that I had also some problems with transferring to and from the Neo wallet. Was the time to sell for me.

Re: Is Monero a Good Investment?
by

At some point of time in the near future I reckon the crypto environment will be regulated.

I can imagine that governments do not like 'stealth coins' like monero and will try to forbid these. One such example is the Japanese government trying to push exchanges to drop altcoins favoured by criminals (Monero any1? Cheesy). I foresee more of these kind of actions from governments.

Personally, for this reason I will not invest in stealth coins like Monero.

Re: bitcoin or litecoin ?

MrBlack001

Bitcoin for sure, while the value of both is to some (large) extent is based on speculation, Bitcoin has the lead because it was first, has the mystique of the 'unknown developper' Satoshi (instead of a dev who sold his coins on ATH) and it has the backing of quite some influencers who compare it with gold (but better).

Agreed, think to some large extent you can avoid being scammed by doing research. Asside from the project itself, there are several websites (ie icoalert) which are doing reviews on (upcoming) ico's and you can check up teammembers on linkedin etc.

Re: When comes big institutional money into crypto market?
by

Confirmed institutional money in hedge funds are hedge funds and venture capital investors but really large institutional money (like for instance a pension fund) probably won't move into crypto market until it is fully regulated in my opinion.

In it's current state (pow) Bitcoin can't be used as a (massively adopted) currency.

Don't think its a bad thing that Bitcoin is considered an investment (with some characteristics similar to gold).

In the end investors who are building up an portfolio will add all sorts of different assets to spread risks (ie. real estate, shares, bonds, commodities (silver, gold) and in that list in my opinion there will be room for bitcoin in the future.
