Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 200000 miners

Good morning patrike,

First time I am trying to use MiniZ and I am having an issue with it running.
No issues with gminer or trex miner that I've been using for over 1 year.

Setup:
AM v9.3.5 console and agent on miner
Windows 10 21H2 with latest updates
Nvidia driver 496.76
(12) EVGA RTX 3070

Findings:
MiniZ 1.8y2 loads the GPUs very slowly (the green list of RTX 3070's) but will not actually start mining.
MiniZ 1.8y3 loads the first 2 GPUs but then the miner exits. Subsequent reboots of the miner also fail.
Diagnostics with 1.8y3 shows it mining perfectly fine, even when running a 2 minute diag.
I'm also able to successfully run MiniZ 1.8y3 locally via command line, from the AM AppData path, using the same cmd line parameters as shown in the AM console.
Creating a custom miner in AM and specifying path to 1.8y3 also works without issue.
I have tried with no overclock but miner still exits.

I see AM lists MiniZ as "1.8y3 (CUDA: 10.0)" while I see bitcointalk main notes of MiniZ saying CUDA 11 is supported. Otherwise I am lost.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.
There is a bug in MiniZ where it sometimes crashes on startup if the monitoring API is being called. So it's basically a timing issue where Awesome Miner sends a request for monitoring details - and depending on where Miniz is in the initialization phase, it may crash.

This is the reason why it always runs fine via the Awesome Miner diagnostics, as no API calls are being made. Same when launching it manually via the command line, as no API calls are being made it works fine.

I've reported this to the MiniZ developer a while ago.

Update: I just added the latest MiniZ 1.8z and on my system it runs perfectly stable now. Please give the new version a try as well.

Hi patrike,

The new 1.8z version is in fact working! Also an increase in hashrate compared to 1.8y3! Thank you for your prompt reply!

if I add -coin "xxx" or -proto "x" phönixminer will not start anymore. Does anyone have an idea why?
Phönixminer says:
can't resolve host - No such host is known

i have this problem with etz, exp, ubiq and so on.

I posted a few days ago, same issue when doing -coin etc
Keeps thinking I'm mining etz so has to regenerate the dag for devfee EVERY TIME

Bug report for version 3.0c using '-coin' flag.
Defining " -coin etc " results in miner failing to start, stating unable to resolve what looks like a blank pool entry.
Removing the -coin flag allows proper operation but DAG must regenerate for devfee and after (thinks coin is ETZ).

Thank you for the fix Patrike! - The Pool Change operation is made available with more mining software for a Managed Miner in the web interface

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I want the ability to switch to another pool/algo, which also requires switching the miner software. I've tried creating a pool group containing two different algo coins but this did not seem to work. If the managed miner is set to use Claymore for example, it tries using claymore even when choosing to change pool to a neoscript coin. I tried editing the managed software under options to a strict enable/disable for a miner for certain algo, but this did not seem to work either.

The formal ANN post says GitHub code was created by extrazeldev and Scribbles-MCAMK: https://github.com/Scribbles-MCAMK/Zelcash
There is another code released 7 days ago today by zelcash and extrazeldev, whom also contributed to the first one: https://github.com/zelcash/zelcash

Idk why this isn't a fork, but should I still be using code in original post? Thanks all!

hi patrike - In dev version 4.4.7 it seems the "add/change pools" option in the web interface is still missing for dstm and also for the newly added bminer. The option is present in the web interface for for ewbf.

Having an issue hoping someone can help with. In the web interface, clicking on a miner gives a list of options at the bottom of the screen (ex. Reboot, Stop, Restart)
I've noticed all of my miners (6) running the 4.4.1 or 4.4.4 AM agent version (not installed as a service) are missing the "Add/Change Pool..." option.

However one of my rigs I have not updated the agent on and it is running the 4.1.2 version, and that does show the "Add/Change Pool..." option.

Is there something I need to enable in the newer client version? I'm running the Enterprise Edition. Tried even a fresh install on another machine with 4.4.4. Have multi-user authentication enabled for the web interface and 'enable pool configuration in web interface' is set. Like I said, it is working for 1 rig, running the old client.

Thanks!  Smiley

I figured it out. This is now a feature request/bug report. The "Add/Change Pool..." option is missing from the web interface only for the DSTM miner. It is showing for EWBF, which happens to be what is running on the 4.1.2 agent.

Would just like to say this is great software patrike, keep up the good work! The Enterprise edition was easily the best investment I have made into mining.  Cheesy

Not until an updated miner is released for GPU mining

ccminer with Lyra2REv2 support has been out for a long while

Just curious - what is the reason behind the swap?  Is it just a rescue of the SIGT community?

With over 100 million SIGT out there, the price of STRAKS is going to be temporarily limited by the price of SIGT I think.

Here is an example: if I can get 1 STRAK for every 4 SIGT, and SIGT is 1.5 US cents, then I know I can basically buy a STRAK For 6 cents.  If I can effectively buy STRAK for 6 cents each, then anytime the STRAK price goes above 6 cents there is an arbitrage opportunity, and people will buy SIGT to swap and sell STRAK down to 6 cents.

I'm not saying you shouldn't swap to SIGT.  I'm just curious why that became part of the coin (I don't think it's explained in the ANN unless I missed it, and it doesn't seem relevant to your roadmap beyond rescuing SIGT).  The arbitrage opportunites will only exist until the SIGT swap closes, and after that I'm sure the STRAK price will grow just fine.  It might be good to have a second source of STRAK generation (the swaps) aside from just mining/buying, but the reasons should be in the ANN.

One point is that the coin swap will only be offered for 1 month or less.

Anyone have any guesses for coin price at launch on YoBit? I've seen the old SIGT was jumping as we near the announcement of the 4:1 coin-swap going live. I have a bunch of coins to swap!

I think it's simply really. If you mine on the pool consistently and then order nicehash... that isn't pool hopping. But if you only mine when block is found to get round % and then leave, that is called "hopping". I need more popcorn for this thread Cheesy

Been mining for almost 3 weeks now on the noobpool and payouts have been as expected.. working. Thanks N00b!
