Week 9

I have not had time to do the analysis of week 9.
But everything continues according to the analysis of the week 8. After this small rise, the fall will be to very low values. I still can not tell if it will last four weeks or more. In next weekend I'll post new analysis.

My position:
- Bear

Your forecasts remain to be remarkably accurate, including today's rise to $710,-.  But such low values - really? You're expecting a catastrophe?

It's tough to remain bearish in times like these but I'll wait and see how this week will play out. But I'm playing along with you that today's rise was fake, although majestically orchestrated.

The move has been stunted for the night. capped by 610, I think we will test the 500 level again. this little bull run was too steep.

I actually did sell some, hard to believe it has steam to raise above 600 now. The train is not leaving anybody, but the tide has turned. 500 here we come!

just make sure to not ignore the 1d chart...
...this could turn out to a long bull market in few days
Same happened on June 19th 2013, where the drop from $105 to $66 (daily average) started. Don't place your bets on a single indicator. Smiley

Your way of replying and use of exclamation marks is somehow intriguing. I agree with you that upcoming 1/2 weeks could become highly volatile (!).

Currently a large portion of my buy orders are in the 375-425 range, but think these will only be hit if some serious bad news will spark large sell-offs. I think this is a plausible scenario, but also believe that it won't take long until the bull-market starts taking over again and this low-range becomes unlikely.

In consider low 500s highly likely though, based on the current sentiment, events (Gox) and historical movements - perhaps already upcoming week.

This, for example, is an abominable flaunting of that intention in my opinion:

Major announcement: There is a new private bitcoin forum online. If you belong to the top contributors here, please PM and I will send you an invitation. Finally a place to take the discussion to a new level!  Smiley

No vacancies currently, thank you Smiley

Personally I don't see any objections to setting up restricted fora, something each may decide for its own. Also 'rpietila's' initiative regards to 'Top Contributors', which includes people of differentiated status. But I can understand your initial annoyance, as it reflects elitism. That's how society works though, birds of a feather flock together. Even Bitcoin can't change that. Wink

Also can't blame them, as Bitcointalk is rather bloated with -let's moderately say- less intellectual posts.

Re: Another MatTheCat Near Term Price Prediction.

Based on basic data such as historical price movement and moving averages I've my own 'short term' prediction on:
- February (slightly bullish): could go as high as $850-900
- March (bearish): could go as low as $500
- April (bullish): back to around $900 and we'll remain on that level for a few months.

Just rough estimates, my focus is on larger trends rather than minor (in BTC world) 10% or $20 movements here and there.

Also these estimates are based on a 'no significant news' scenario (either positive or negative). I regard the chance of receiving significant negative news to be high. E.g. Chinese trading halts completely, Chinese exchange goes bust, large selling volume from seized coins or simply a whale-galore.

Disclaimer: I've no speculative-trading track record other than simply investing in BTC, so don't place your bets based on this. Wink

CONFIRMED by Richard Branson:

http://www.coindesk.com/richard-branson-6-bitcoin-customers-confirmed-virgin-galactic-space-filght/

Quote
“I think there will be a global currency that will take on [J.P. Morgan CEO] Jamie Dimon and the other banks and other currencies. That will be the future. I suspect that (...) it isn’t bitcoin, someone else like Square will … come up with that currency.”

We now see, bitcoin is going nowhere, while only a few early adopters are flying to the moon.

This is the worst news here, don't you see what that means? Everyone who has bitcoins will fly to space, and wont be able to develop bitcoin protocol from space anymore! So any progress would be stopped. It is a trick by the dollar rich to kill bitcoin, by launching all bitcoin supporters on a one-way Mars flight! Also, all these bitcoins for space travel will be sodl at once to pay for rocket fuel and insurance; completely destroying prices, so this doubles the grave news. Sad day indeed. Recent jump in price confirms this further, this is an agony spike.
At the age of 50 a director in a board meeting had to explain the difference between 'net' and 'gross' to him. His financial expertise is renown.

Possibly a recent conversation between him and -the totally unbiased- Mr. Dorsey led to this particular statement.

Either way, he's an awesome business builder.

thx for sharing that. I tought something was wrong, so I am not the only one!
Anyway, I opened a support ticket, hope to get those funds in asap (not for me, but for selling coins to friends, I am not selling my own coins Wink )
Same here, although for me it's still in the 3-day range (normally it takes less time). Intended to buy some coins today / yesterday, rather unfortunate as the price has been rising even more quickly in a short timespan.

Read across threads that there are some issues currently regarding deposits, I'm sure it will get resolved quickly. Would be nice if they would share such status updates through social media or something in the future though.

Ok I registered here for one reason or better two... 1. I want to know more (all) about bitcoins Cheesy 2. I am searching for people for a project around one of the greatest ideas ever.
Following you on the first reason, in addition it would also be rather nice to be able to add to the discussions on the other subforums - lifting the newbie-restrictions Wink

As for your project, wishing you best of luck. Just would like to remind you that most people have "unique totally market-breaking" ideas, but the path to successful execution is long and cumbersome. Aside from the fact that with most people it remains just that -an idea- there's the other aspect that ~90% of startups fail as well. Regardless, a life without risk is not worth living. Wink

Either way, looking forward to reading about it some more.
