Background: Been torrenting for over a decade (started with WCD). Currently a member of 10 private trackers (Elite on a few). Disappointed with Apollo, but am continuing with Orpheus (although I've lost faith). Decided to try RED. Studied the prep site (although I was already well versed in the topics).
After about 24 hours in queue, interview started. They asked about my membership in other trackers and I listed them all. Then they want a screenshot of my profile on all of the trackers. I'm only allowed to gray out the passkey.
Wow! That's a lot of work when you are a member of 10 trackers (log in and take snapshots, then photoshop all 10 snapshots to grey out passkey, post to imgur, etc.) And also a lot of personal information to throw out there openly. I remember the discussion where Apollo's backup was found unencrypted on IRC (not sure if true or not). I have no idea who may eventually gain access to these records and how RED will be protecting it.
And I'm supposed to provide all this info BEFORE the test. What if I don't pass? Now I've given all this info for nothing. I realize they're taking steps to ensure good members, but I think this was going too far. I would have accepted to take screenshots of my profile for a couple of music trackers, but not all.
Not willing to give all this info while others can provide no info and just get in with an invite. I'm doing fine with my current trackers, just thought I could contribute to a rising audio tracker. But this is just too much info if it gets in the wrong hands.
I hope this info helps some others who may want to take the interview. When joining WCD, it was my first tracker, so I never had to provide all this info. Maybe I shouldn't have listed all the trackers in my interview with RED. But I didn't want to lie either.
