HEY! FINALLY, a milestone. as many know I've got a pile of S3s for cheep. Got three in my crib but here in Phx when the heat comes up I gotta turn em off to run my Large AC.
I have an off premise shop that I tinker my motorcycles in and waste time. Found out there's access to a wifi hotspot there. Been foolin for a month trying to get routers working out of a Ntbook. The netbook wifi ain't strong enough to pick it up but I came across an external
TP-link directional antenna. OK, nowhere on the netbook to screw it on so it's a USB wifi antenna. appx $20 (also a tp-link) and my laptop connects. Unfortunately the laptop don't see the S3 on the other end of the ethernet port. Tried bridging it to the wifi dongle and all that crap but as soon as I hooked the miners to it it would drop the wifi signal.
Welp after three weeks of dicking with routers turns out all I hadda do was "enable wifi sharing" through my USB dongle wifi antenna and I had one up and running. Then goto a simple netgear switch. It's a 24 port switch I got for $4.00 on Goodwill Geezer Discount Day....(tuesday).
The point is there are five of them up and running between here and there so I SHOULD be above "Dust" level.
Last I checked it said 2.24 Ths. I gotta work on remote access to try and do something about a high invalid rate. I may then consider moving a couple more down there.
It's been a fight, no doubt easier if I knew all this already but I enjoy learning and I AM learning as I go along. Gotta let em all ramped up, then on the next block after this I should actually see something in my wallet!
