A bit off topic, but I'm loosing my brain cells over trying to get to solomine TIPS on bfgminer.
The directions online for fedoracoin aren't working for me.
Does anyone have xp with setting up .conf files and possibly post a copy of what the steps are to get solomining working?
My wallet is syncing fine, rpcport is 22888, bfgminer set up to proxy, but I can't solomine on my CPU as a test run.
Cheers!

On the subject of getting the blockexplorer back online:
I checked out a couple of home servers, and I can pull it financially. So if anyone can explain to me the "How To" of getting it up and running I'm able to provide this free of charge/donation service, later TIPS 2.0 can be migrated to it.

got this reply on reddit, see if it helps or reply to him there directly if you need further help!
"I thought standard build of bfgminer has cpumining disabled. It was a long time since I looked at bfgminer though, like March.
edit:
CPU (not enabled by default nor included in Windows build)
from https://bitcointalk.org/?topic=626361"

Thanks, I knew that much.
BFGminer solomines with asics fine for me, the problem is TIPS doesn't send any work for my instance, although the miner sees the network and block info. I'll work it out eventually.

There are few possibilites:

1. rent server for block explorer
2. pay someone who already has multiple block explorers
3. integrate block explorer into wallet

I would prefer option 3 but that`s just me Smiley

Option 3 sounds quite good.
Does anyone have the skills to implement this? id10tothe9?
Improving the wallet for Tips can be a good sign the coin will live. Plus this can be carried over once changes are made, i.e. POS, reduced # of coins, etc.
Development fund in tips can be raised to who ever volunteers to make a new wallet, given they have the rep and reliability.

How can we get the blockchain explorer working again?
What is the cost to keep it active?

Nice to see that someone is still looking after TIPS.
What will happen to the current coins in wallets if we switch to the POS?
There isn't any demand on TIPS right now, switching to POS might completely kill the coin. As with MINT, ZEIT and RDD, prices creeped down after POS implementation.
Lowering maximum TIPS might cause a short lived price spike, benefiting bag holders such as myself, but I don't see it benefiting the coin.
I believe the only way TIPS can be picked up by merchants or community is stable price, I haven't given this much thought but stacking TIPS against a $ value would be better than exchanging it into BTC, LTC or DOGE.
How much do we need to raise in TIPS donations to get the project moving?

I am new to this coin and to mining. Can anyone explain how to mine with AMD card?

Windows or Linux?
What card are you using?
CGminer 3.7.2 is the latest CGminer for scrypt, but there are several others.

Before you start setting up your miner make sure to:
1 Backup your wallet onto a usb
2 Create system image/ backup onto an external hard drive
3 Have an antivirus (Kaspersky served me good over the years)
4 Make copies of your .bat and cgminer.conf files incase you mess up the settings

PM me I'll message you .bat, cgminer.conf templates and setup instructions

Black screen after Windows 7 logo - GIGABYTE AMD Radeon R9 290X OC 4GB GDDR5
by

Hi,
I'm having a strange problem with 2 of my GIGABYTE AMD Radeon R9 290X OC 4GB GDDR5 cards. I used to run them on two separate rigs, each with 2 other identical cards, after two days of mining CGminer 3.7.2 would close for no reason, windows 7 still functioning. After a restart the boot screen had a vertical pixelated line going down the screen, after Windows 7 starting logo the screen goes black, restarting again doesn't solve the issue.
My CGminer 3.7.2 setup:

1 Started with a .bat file with
        setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
   setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
Thread concurrency 32765, GPU Engine 908, GPU Memory 1500, etc.
2 Created cgminer.conf
3 Started CGminer through CGWatcher

I have 2 rigs with 6 identical cards total mining full time for the past 3 weeks without any issues, same CGminer config, Windows 7 Home Premium, ASRock 990fx extreme 9.
I've tried running one problem card on a test rig, fresh windows install, 13.12 Catalyst drivers. After the first restart same problem happens, pixelated boot screen and black screen after start logo, card is not overclocked, haven't touched the voltage.

Has anyone else encountered this? Only happened with these 2 cards out of 8, hopefully I don't have to RMA them.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Hi,
My wallet says Chain is too old, redownload blockchain. Did it, everything synced fine and transactions work, but still the same warning. Anyone seeing the same message? My Windows wallet is 1.1 and correct config. Should I just ignore it until a new wallet update?
Thanks!
