We need people who are willing to spend some BTC(Bitcoin) to buy CryptoNight hashing power on nicehash.com mining BipCoin to keep the BipCoin network stable
What kind of BTC amounts are we talking about? Just a ball park figure?

This coin is really from the monero devs? I can not find any information about this. Do you have a source? I think it is a real competitor, but there is no information which makes me think that Ricardo or his people are involved there.
You could take a peek at Smooth's GithHub history:
https://github.com/iamsmooth?tab=overview&from=2017-04-01&to=2017-04-30&utf8=%E2%9C%93
Or read a bit more about history of Monero and the part Smooth has in it:

Monero testnet can be used experiments. Why so many Monero users spend time on Aeon now?
For one thing, testnet coins are worthless, so that already limits its usefulness. With Aeon one can see how a real market actually responds to new features etc.

I also don't have any control over what software version they use.
I understand that you have no control or responsibility for whatever HitBTC does or does not do, and I did not mean to imply otherwise. It's just too bad that for those who don't have the hardware to mine Aeon, HitBTC was for many months the only place where you could buy coins and transfer them to your own wallet, so many people ended up using them. Hopefully HitBTC will come through for their clients and everybody will get their coins.

I do not recommend using mixin 0 unless you are an expert and prepared to handle the delays/issues (mixin 1 should probably not be used at all).
It looks like many people have problems withdrawing Aeon from HitBTC, and of course they don't have any choice in the mixin number, as it is up to HitBTC... Btw, if mixin 1 is not to be used, should it perhaps be disabled?

Is there currently a problem with HitBTC withdrawals? There is some talk on Reddit about withdrawals not coming through. No announcements on HitBTC and the wallet should be working.

Updating the logo is not a bad idea, even if technical development is probably the most important thing at this stage. There are plenty of good graphic designers willing (or having to) work for cheap rates, so getting a professional design would not be difficult. Or a community-driven design might be a way to create some buzz.

Anyway, I am definitely no graphic designer, but here is a (public domain) big cat image with the name of the coin, just my 2 cents: https://imgur.com/a/HAK3J

does mixin make transactions slow?
With Monero mixin number does not affect transaction time, so I presume the same is true with Sumokoin.

I am working on WebApp development so that sites can use the coin and SamuelPickwick is working on changes to the coin to make the hash rate and difficulty more stable. More announcements will be coming soon, this is a good time to buy.
That's great news, thanks a lot. Please let us know if there is something even non-coding community members can do to help.

Maybe I'll find your email address on your cell phone. Maybe I'll send you a notification from bitcointalk.org (make it look identical), but when you click the link (you don't do you), I'll drop a keylogger and a few other goodies on your PC.  Now I go and find your wallet(s), open it, empty it and just for giggles, activate a virus that wipes your PC and disables your cell phone. In the mean time, while your dealing with that, I'll comb your keylogger history looking for passwords, find all the other exchanges where you trade, open your accounts and bleed them dry.
Most of what you are describing in this scenario happens on the PC, not on the phone. Finding an email address on the phone? I'm sure that's possible - but I am also pretty sure hackers prefer to hack into websites and systems that have thousands or millions of email addresses, instead of hacking into just one phone for one email address. And a single virus that wipes both the PC and disables a cell phone? Never heard of that.

The most similar its use a simplewallet in a fresh windows 7 install without internet connections, and then burn it.  Grin
Linux on a thumbdrive is better than Windows, no need to even burn it Smiley

I'm referring to short and medium term.
Sounds very reasonable, but I think people may have different definitions for short, medium and long terms. What would constitute short and medium terms to you? A few weeks, a few months or a few years?

Some things that can help the coin are:

- Running a node

- Mining

- Explaining the benefits of BIP (no ICO, no premine, no instamine) to other crypto enthusiasts on Reddit, Twitter, Facebook etc.

But if the current developer has indeed given up on the coin then the number one issue would be finding a new dev (or preferably more than one). Those of us who cannot code can help by spreading the word about BIP and donating to a development pool (if new devs are found).

There have been a few trades during the last couple of days on Cryptopia, so the market is not completely dead. But certainly BipCoin needs development, marketing and adoption if it is not to fade away. So everybody who wants BipCoin to succeed should ask themselves what they can do to help the coin.

aeon need wallet for android and ios to start grow
As long as Aeon stores the blockchain in RAM a mobile wallet is hardly feasible because of the memory requirements.

Seriously? "Fake wallet/password"? What kind of cockamamie, spaced-out/space cadet concept is that? Have the top cryptos implemented such absurdity?
This type of concept is used by Ledger, which is one of the most popular BTC hardware wallets:

It will have to be better than Monero to succeed.  Wink
It needs to be different enough from Monero in some (or more than one) way. Different does not necessarily mean better (or worse). The differences can be technical or they may be related to branding, adoption etc. We shall see what happens.

network hashrate had been over 500k/s recently and difficulty over 80M. it's tough to find a block on a small pool.

The hashrate is about 3 times higher than it should be based on the current price and it keeps on spiking up higher and then coming back down which makes the difficulty rise quickly and then take a long time to adjust back down. This is causing really long block times and delaying the confirmation of transaction as well as slowing down the mining pools and making it much less profitable to mine.

Sumokoin had a similar problem (huge spikes in difficulty caused by somebody buying unlimited hashrate at Nicehash) and I believe they ended up changing the algorithm. Not sure if their updated code could be useful for Bipcoin though.
