Best strategy Thanks for the reply. I will manage my expectations then... but I think I want to do both... I also starting to invest in ICO's and I would love to understand more about blockchain and mining, so I would love to experiment with mining in practice to get a good understanding of it and maybe, thats something extra, make some profits...

Mag ik vragen bij welke winkel?
Dear forum members,
In the last months I made some profit with altcoins. Now I want to start mining, first small and maybe bigger when it works out well. Im reading a lot about the subject on different sites and this forum, to find out which steps to take. Therefore I would kindly like to ask some questions:
1. Which altcoin is nowadays profitable to mine? Monero for example?
2. Is it correct that the profit of ETH is reducing and the risk is increasing (because of the PoW to PoS transition)?
3. Is it common to use a miner with Windows 10 (I dont want a ASIC miner who can only mine one or two types of coins)?
4. Which software can best be used? For every altcoin different software?
5. Is there any special software which can mine different coins, or which has an (automatic or easy) switch to the most profitable altcoin of the time? If so, where can I find such software?
6. Do you have tips regarding which type of Nvidia card to use? Is the GTX 1060 modded the best card (hash/kwh/profit)? If so, where can I get this card? Or do you advise another type, which is still available and not to expensive?
7. Is it smart/necessary to make use of a pool? Are there any (good) free pools? Has anyone tips for a good pool (I live in the Netherlands)?
8. Are there any tips to avoid common mistakes in the mining business?
Of course I would appreciate any comments/thoughts and I hope Im not asking questions that are answered elsewhere yet on this forum (but which I havent seen yet).

De afgelopen tijd een leuke winst gemaakt met altcoins. Nu wil ik graag serieus gaan beginnen met minen, eerst relatief klein en dit steeds meer uitbouwen als het goed gaat. Ik ben mezelf intensief aan het inlezen op diverse websites en op dit forum, om te weten te komen welke stappen ik moet gaan zetten.
Om die reden heb ik ook een aantal vragen en ik hoop dat jullie deze willen beantwoorden:
1. Welke altcoin is tegenwoordig redelijk rendabel om te minen? Monero bijvoorbeeld?
2. Klopt het dat de winst op ETH afneemt en daarnaast het risico toeneemt, omdat de kans bestaat dat er wordt overgestapt van PoW naar PoS?
3. Is het gebruikelijk om een miner te laten draaien op windows 10 (ik wil overigens geen ASIC miner die maar één of twee coins kan minen)?
4. Welke software kan je het beste gebruiken? Is dit voor iedere altcoin aparte software?
5. Bestaat er speciale mining software waarmee je meerdere altcoins kan minen, of althans die kan worden gebruikt om (gemakkelijk of automatisch) te switchen naar de meest rendabele altcoin? Zo ja, waar vind ik deze software?
6. Om verschillende altcoins te kunnen minen, gaat mijn voorkeur vooralsnog uit naar Nvidia (i.p.v. AMD), hebben jullie tips ten aanzien van de beste kaart? Is de GTX 1060 Modded bijvoorbeeld het beste (hash/stroom-rate/winst)? Zo ja, is die kaart nog ergens leverbaar? Of kunnen jullie adviseren welke andere nu nog leverbare en redelijk betaalbare kaart goed kan worden gebruikt om te minen?
7. Is het verstandig/noodzakelijk om deel te nemen aan een Pool? Zijn er ook goede gratis pools? Heeft iemand tips welke pool aanbevelenswaardig is?
8. Heeft er iemand nog adviezen over eventuele valkuilen?
