Why did it take until today for Lizard to step down? Why did he continue to ban people for asking legitimate questions up until now?

Anyone with any ethics would have left GAW a long time ago. There could be zero doubt once the 1 satoshi payouts started.

Happy to be wrong Lizard, care to elaborate on how you see it?

Nope cause I'm tied to an NDA. I also highly doubt that you would know who I've personally banned or who I didn't ban (or which bans I've revoked). I invite you to read through my post history and read it well before judging over me. Anyway, I just came by because I heard that my post had been shared in this thread.

Sorry to see you gone, you were one of the best MODS on there

Does anyone know of the address for the Mintpal Caix wallet?

That way we can track how many are still in there.

How many DGB is in current circulation?

YC

If we are on block 154,644 then wouldn't it follow that we're in the neighbourhood of 154,644*8000 = 1,237,152,000 DGB out there? This does not obviously take into account the block reward reductions, or the initial blocks that I think had a higher block reward... but should be a ball park figure?

...or is my math out?

1,347,082,444 DGB (Ref: Coinmarketcap)

Ha...  I was only out by 110 million'ish  Roll Eyes

Good estimate! As you said that was just not accounting for the pre-mine ;-)

Ugh, the stupid miner crashed for the night while I was mining skein... And I can't get down in the basement to reboot... Ugh 12 hours of wasted time. Costs me 34 cents to run the thing while it's frozen Sad

Just venting my frustrations lol

Bird,

Just a heads up (or maybe a question as to why), but your Groestl pool has recently been making weird payouts that don't include all the miners currently mining.

Three recent examples are blocks
149981
http://insight.dgb.cryptopoolmining.com/block/0d03fd75bee18864fcaa97457da1defd54e8f75fde8e9ef260f00aa2027440ed
(where there was only one address paid to that isn't even mining)

150240
http://insight.dgb.cryptopoolmining.com/block/dd1f60e865d52fdc02561af3a5367d70a55ff51e9ed76eaae11fb620e38c4faa
(two addresses that aren't mining either)

150452
http://insight.dgb.cryptopoolmining.com/block/1230681f657d4bf2d0d6907bbad7e7c1e540065c9b8281378d8a5212e49b3add
(same two as above that aren't mining)

What's up with this?

...:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::...

On another note, just for fun I took a peek at address D96y4y74NUegfYJ8yn9chxbPLrRiypCF6V and there's been around 40 payouts to that same address since block 150452, and almost always the same exact amount: 6117.69330151 DGB, and those are not coming from Bird's Pool.

Huh

The D96y4y74NUegfYJ8yn9chxbPLrRiypCF6V address massive payout looks like a possible red flag to immediately investigate. Almost a quarter a million DGB in a couple of hours!!!

Add: Another 61,000 or so in the last 30 minutes - at that rate, the take down would be just shy of 3 million a day (or almost 14% of theoretical production and 20% of actual discovery). Could that really be legit? With the payouts I saw from Bird's pool that should have gone to other addresses, I seriously doubt it.

Add 2: It's all Groestl and Crypto Hunger has got the hashrate to do this ( http://cryptohunger.com:81/tbs ) the sporadic payouts suggest this might be the case. But, the 2 payouts from Bird's pool? Orphans?

Wow, if that's the case, we're getting a concentrated hashrate issue due to someone not releasing all of his "proprietary" code . . .

Monopolization is a real issue in a supposedly decentralized crypto world.

Add 3:     srcxxx, I've sent you a PM alerting you to the fact that your proprietary pool currently, as of this writing, has over 50% of the DGB Groestl hashrate.

Interesting stuff ... but with 50% of Groestl that is still only half of one algorithm, i.e. 10% of the network. So not a huge issue.

There are some big hitters soaking up the rewards for the less popular algos (ie. not scrypt or Sha) and some of those are solomining ... be interesting to see how it works out in a few days after everything has calmed down.

I was able to send 2000 to my Cryptsy account but if I send anything larger than that (say 5000 with a wallet of 700000 coins) it gives that error. The success sending any coins right now is wildly inconsistent. What could be the cause for this? This is not normal.

Devs any ideas?

Were you running the old wallet prior to your update above? IE. past the fork @ block 145,000?

45 minutes left on Nicehash and then i'm out of mining but will buy some more on exchange just waiting to see what the price will do.

Goodluck to you all

Thanks for everything 24 ... couldn't have got this far without your help!

Make sure you look after those coins ;-)

THX to both of you. You pushed it over the weekend very hard! Just saw the effort on pools and here in the forum. Thx again for pushing it hard!

Don't forget tdcooper99 and all the other miners they all did a pretty good job!

,24

Yes tdcooper99 deserves a special mention too ... especially as he nearly burnt his house down trying to get us there!? (Ask him to pm you the pics ... scary stuff)

As mentioned it was a combined effort though, lots of people dedicated whatever they had for the last five days and it all counted. Others came and went, but it was the grand total of all that hash that got us to this point ... thanks to everyone for their contribution little and large.

Maybe I'm just blind but, can't seem to find URL and port for SHA256 on cryptopoolmining.com...  Anybody?

DIGIBYTE-SHA256

stratum+tcp://eu1.cryptopoolmining.com:4020
VARDIFF: 16 - 4096

https://v2.cryptopoolmining.com/index.php?page=dashboard

Thanks 24! Not sure how I missed that but, I appreciate it!

Interesting ... I am using port 5015 and seems to be working.

Soooooooo close ...

Update

200 blocks to go, at current rates estimated time until block 145,000 = 9 Hours 54 Minutes *

*The actual time will depend on the average network hashrate and fluctuations in block finding luck ... but presuming everyone doesn't suddenly abandon the network, it seems today is the day!

Update

At current rate we should hit block 145000 in ... 22 Hours 25 Minutes! Smiley

So when we do, which algo will you be mining on?

Continuing with Scrypt, dusting off graphics cards for the GPU friendly options, or throwing GH at the Sha pool?

hello guys

i'm currently helping a friend update his p2pool server to allow support of all the algos.

if i understood everything correctly, the idea is we need to have 1 wallet running / algo
then this would be backed up by a p2pool for each, thx to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=408268.msg8445152#msg8445152
it should be easy.

but i'm hitting a wall atm.

so far, i've compiled, installed and syncd the scrypt wallet, everything is OK
but when i run the p2pool, i endup with this:

i also tried with Rav3n p2pool, result is the same

currently i have tested on:
debian (wheezy)32bit (on a VM) => wallet doesn't compile
debian (wheezy)64bit (on a VM) => result as above picture
ubuntu server 64 (14.01) (on a VM) => result as above picture
debian (wheezy)64bit (on the server) => result as above picture

four time the work equals four time the fun right?  Grin

what i got when i start the command is (username and address edited ofc):

Update 3
by
NZ_miner
on 30/08/2014, 22:31:41 UTC

We might actually do this!

Update:

We have broken the back of it ...

Pre-push: 30-50 blocks/day
First 24 Hours of push: 350 blocks found
Second 24 hours: 500 blocks found
Last 24 hours: 480 blocks found

We are in touching distance, in the next few hours we should pass block 144,000 and be on the home straight!

Special mention to tdcooper, 24hraltrade and thrassos for ploughing in huge amounts of hash over the last day or so ... I tip my hat to each and everyone of you! That said there are huge amounts of small to mid-size miners who have swarmed to help and that combined hash is also making a huge difference ... I said before every hash helps and this is proving to be the case, your contribution hasn't gone unnoticed and is really appreciated, the call went out for help and the response has been fantastic.

Current Block: 143,940

I think we can also move to a new counter, at current rates;

Block 145k Estimate: 53 Hours

P.S. Footnote on Nicehash, a couple of people mentioned their orders had idled, I think this is a weekend phenomenon where an increase in orders spikes the rental price. This can leave you with an order 'on pause' until the price comes back down. I confess I logged in today and found my orders were on hold ... increasing the price now to get them back up and running ;-)

anyone want to put some hash at : http://dgb.blazinghashes.com/index.php i'm feeling lonely right now  Tongue, could be great to find 1 or 2 blocks to help the networks and get a payment.

Devs keep up the good works  Grin

I can switch some hash over later today but, I just logged and see I have 200 DGB unconfirmed from several weeks ago. Would like to get that fixed first if possible...  (RJF19)

Blazinghashes is not updated,  i have about 23.000 dgb uncomfirmed right now.

@ jared, Is this because of the update?

Jared can confirm, but in theory ...

They will be ok as long as they were mined before 145,000 and you transfer them out to your own wallet or an exchange before block 145,000.

Blazing saddles requires 100 confirms, so at current rates that will take about 6 hours for them to be confirmed and available to transfer, well before block 145,000.

If you want to be double sure, when they are confirmed send 100 or so to your wallet ... if they arrive without a problem send the rest ... but make sure you do it before block 145,000!

Thank you NZ,  i will try later this day when they are confirmed.

Now i'm @ cryptopoolmining just to make sure nothing is lost @ 0.9 gh/s Cheesy.

thanks for the help guys and for the info i received all my coins from blazing without a problem. I would be mining on cryptopool too but can't find the reason why i can't connect my fury to the pool  Undecided

There are known problems with bfgminer, the zeus chips (fury) and some pools.

I have never seen an explanation for the reason behind the issue ... but if you use a compatible version of cgminer they seem to work on all pools.
