I haven't been at this very long yet, but have a little cluster going here. Total of about 62 GH/s. I'll be filling that USB hub up fairly soon too. Not a bad start.

So, I took a huge break from the forum, the mining scene in general, and so on, to wait for my X-1 units to arrive. I'm actually amazed to hear that a few people might have received hardware? Is this true?
Now that the hardware is probably well past being useful, just wondering when (if) it might ever appear.
At the moment (current difficulty x current electricity cost x current Bitcoin value) it's making money. Nowhere near break-even once you factor in the purchase price but at least it's mining more than it's using. Difficulty goes up? Not worth mining unless Bitcoin value goes up (or keep mining anyway in case value of mined coins subsequently goes up).
Good to know that it is at least working. I ordered my units through Minersource. Hoping they show up eventually (so at least I can get something for my money).

You'll probably have to wait alot longer. From the main BA thread, they don't even have the case for the X-1 ready, and the LCD screens won't arrive until next week, or something along those lines.
Yeah, I went over to that thread after posting this. It sounds like the shipment notification was in error. Lovely.

so how many btc a day do you get with this pool running 60gh/s? I'm curious because I really want to get into this stuff bad. I think I can get a 60gh/s miner on ebay for $600-700ish I can't remember I saw them earlier today anyway.

At 90 GH/s, I'm getting roughly 0.02/day, so at 60, I'd expect around 0.013 or so at the current difficulty (which just changed around Friday or thereabouts). His estimate of 0.02 per day in that auction is based on the difficulty about 2-3 weeks ago. These last few difficulty increases have really stung.
The blown PSU isn't a big deal, in the sense that these units run very well with an ATX PSU, perhaps even more stable.
If you could convince someone to sell you a box full of Block Erupters at about $1 each, then they'd be great. At about $5/each, they'd be so-so (and still about to be obsoleted, cost-wise). Anything more than that, and they're just not worth the cost anymore.

For the ANTminer U1 optimization, I can only speak for the Windows version (I'm running Windows 7 32bit so BFGminer 32bit for me).

I stopped using the icarus settings shown here. It throws off bfgminer's tracking of the average hash rates, plus I found that it reduced my actual work done by about 5%.
Your definition of "Immediate delivery" and BFL's definition of "Immediate delivery" or "In Stock" etc. are likely very very different definitions.

Very true. My "in stock" unit took nearly 4 weeks to get here, ordered at the end of December.
If you're considering a 5 GH/s Jalapeno, I'd recommend buying 4 Antminer U1 sticks instead. Even with 4 of them, it's cheaper, and they easily overclock to 2GH each, plus they only draw about 2 watts each. So for less money, you'd get 8 GH/s for about 8 watts or so (not sure how much wattage is added with the overclock).
Have you attached an additional load? Some PSUs have issues with staying on without an expected load on one of the other outputs, like plugging a CD drive into one of the molex connectors.

I like the smoke-detector in the mix. Actually a pretty good idea.
Got some more small miners, and moved it all to my rack. Nearly filled 2 Anker USB hubs. Half of them are still Erupters, but I'll replace those over time. The three BFLs (by official, not actual speeds) are 5, 10, and 60.
The "Cray" nameplate is from an actual Cray. But it's just a nameplate.

Just went into failover again. I can always tell because the fan speeds change on my miners for about 30 seconds or so.
I really need to rethink how I'm doing failover. I have it going to Slush's when it fails over, and these short failovers are apparently too short to actually gain anything on Slush. Apparently I get awarded a nice fat 0.
