Re: Lab Rat Data Processing, LLC (LabRatMining) Official Announcement

Was wondering the same thing. I don't get a big payout every week, but I always check Saturday.

I waited a few days before bringing it up. Any chance we are getting a payout this week? Or has this whole thing falling apart already?

Hey LabRat. I emailed you on September 9th. You acknowledged that you got it on the 10th, but I have not heard from you in over a month. Just wanted to chime in to remind you. It was somewhat time sensitive, and still is.

Build cgminer without enabling support for anything that requires usbutils.c (currently that includes bitforce, modminer, and bflsc). That's what the blog you linked does.

Yeah, I know its because I am building with --enable-bflsc, which is what I am attempting to do.

I commented out the offending lines and it seems to compile and run. I won't know if it actually works till I get my BFLs, which hopefully wont be too long.

The last version of cgminer I was able to compile on OS/X was 2.10.5, since then there has been a change to usbutils.c that has prevented it being compiled.

the error is:

usbutils.c:805: error: redefinition of ‘union semun’

I removed the offending code

and tried to recompile and got

usbutils.c: In function ‘cgminer_usb_lock_bd’:
usbutils.c:908: error: ‘union semun’ has no member named ‘seminfo’
usbutils.c:924: error: ‘union semun’ has no member named ‘seminfo’

so it seems the semun structure on mac osx doesn't include seminfo for some reason.

any ideas?
semun doesn't exist on linux - you have to define it yourself.
I guess the OSX OS devs misunderstood that Tongue

You'd have to come by IRC to help work out how to fix this in OSX - in linux I define it myself as per the requirements - but that fails in OSX coz it is already defined

Maybe in a few hours though I don't have time right now

I am also encountering this issue. Was it ever resolved?

I was using http://www.spaceman.ca/blog/?p=235&cpage=1 to help me get the build up and running.

I am mostly in it for fun at this point..

That's as good a reason as any, so long as you're not operating under any 'get rich quick' fantasy.

Ha, yup. And hey, when/if my Butterfly Labs ASICs show up and I can recoup the costs in a few months, great! If not, oh well. It was fun Smiley

Rather than the usual "Don't waste your time/power" comment....

Welcome and thanks for adding another Node to the network Smiley

Hope yours and my ASIC devices are on the move soon, Otherwise happy mining mate.

I appreciate that. I know I am a tiny guppy in a giant pond of sharks (or giant blue whale in the case of ASICMiner), but I am having fun..

I plan on buying a little Raspberry pi and making a little mining rig when my ASICs come.. and maybe get ahold of some used GPUs on craigslist or something Smiley

Bitcoin along with another alt Currency?
by

on 15/02/2013, 19:32:47 UTC
For awhile I have been using CGMiner to GPU mine on my mac. Along with Bitcoin mining I was also using my CPU cycles for Litecoin mining. SO here is the question..

I know Litecoin is really a fraction of the worth of bitcoin.. And I know there are a few other's out there.

What are yall's thoughts on mining two things at once.. one using GPU and one using CPU..

Half the time I have free power.. and I can watch my CPU heat levels..

SO, thoughts?

Hello yall!

I am pretty new.. Currently just mining from my macbook pro.. Though I orderd some Butterfly labs tech.. I know it wont be here for awhile.. but as long as the Fiancée doenst find out I bought them, I think I will be ok.. Smiley

You're screwed, brother.  And mining on a macbook anything is a waste of effort and energy.

Yeah, Well I am getting around 70-80Mh/s, and I know I am only drawing about 60watts when I am letting it do just mining. Plus half the time I am at work, and I bring my personal laptop with me..

I may not be making a ton.. but if http://www.bitcoinx.com/profit/ is right.. currently (I know it will get much worse come ASIC time) I should be making about $2 a month.. I know.. fat roller!

I am mostly in it for fun at this point.. But with a Jalapeno and a  'Little' Single SC ordered.. who knows.

My Podcast donations now accepting Bitcoins
by

on 15/02/2013, 19:09:22 UTC
I run a podcast called "Oh No Ross and Carrie." OhNoPodcast.com

Our tagline is "We show up so you don't have to"..

Our description: Welcome to Oh No, Ross and Carrie!, the show where we don’t just report on spirituality, fringe science and the paranormal (from a scientific, evidence-based standpoint), but dive right in by joining religions, attending spiritual events, undergoing “alternative” treatments, partaking in paranormal investigations, and more. At Oh No, Ross and Carrie!, we show up, so you don’t have to.

We are able to do all these outings all based on donations. Up to this point we have been relying on Paypal for all of those.. I figured there would be no harm now accepting BitCoins as a donation method!

Hey! The more places they can be used the better!

Anyway, maybe a few of you will go listen.. We have been running for about 2 years now. A new podcast every month. I would love to hear your thoughts.
