Building a blockchain solely to encrypt names - is it possible?

Hello together,

I hope this is the right subcategory and this question is not too stupid.

Background is that I would like to build a small blockchain after reading this post:
https://hackernoon.com/learn-blockchains-by-building-one-117428612f46

I have limited coding knowledge and I´m currently doing a python beginner course.

Therefore I wanted to ask, simply as a nice gimmick, if it is possible to build a blockchain (application) which has the sole purpose of encrypting and decrypting names, phrases, etc.?

Why would somebody want to do this you might ask?
On the one hand because I see if a person with limited programming knowledge can succeed in creating such a system.
On the other hand because I think it could be a cool gimmick for people to introduce them to the blockchain environment.

I know this might seem a bit an odd question, but are there any technical barriers that I should be aware of?
Would it also be possible to host this blockchain solution on a homepage so everyone could access it?
Sort of a replication of this homepage: http://md5decrypt.net/en/Sha1/
I know that probably I wouldn´t even need a blockchain for it, but it would be great to combine these two things!

Thanks a lot in advance!

Community in what sense:
Github, Facebook, Twitter, Telegram?!

Also I´d be interested if there are special tools or programs to manage communities?

Which marketplace actually uses blockchain technology?

Hello guys,

I´m wondering if exchanges also internally adapt blockchain technology, for instance smart contracts to automate their orders or if they use other technological tools to match demand and supply?

I know that Lykke for instance uses blockchain technology.

Am I right with the assumption that other exchanges do not use blockchain technology "behind their curtains"?

Cheers!

Why do big corporations accept BTC?

Hi there,

first off - @admin, I´m not sure if this is the right forum category, so please shift if unadequate!

I wanted to know why big companies like Microsoft, Paypal, Overstock and now consulting firms (with PwC HKK) accept BTC as a payment method? Regarding the latter, it´s due to increasing cooperations with start-ups that operate with BTC as main payment, but regarding the others?
From my point of view, companies with sizes like the above mentioned (refering to cash flows and generated income) are normally risk averse and therefore it seems counter intuitive to me to accept BTC as a payment method due to its heavy volatility.
Moreover, not knowing how regulation might influence the outcome for BTC is another argument for not accepting it?!

This leaves me with only one (rather) simple solution, which is that they are convinced of BTC price rises (in the short-term at least), or even a bit more fare-fetched that they are convinced of BTC as "the new digital currency" or similar.
But that´s not plausible for me!

Does somebody know how much BTC Microsoft or the others generate with the exchange of fiat to BTC and vice-versa?

Can someone please help me out, it´s really grinding my gears  Huh Huh

Thanks a lot Smiley

Blockchain internship
by

Hello together,

first off, I hope this is the right area to place this post. If not, please @admin shift this post to the according area!

I´m currently in my masters degree (management) and as I´m interested around the whole topic blockchain, smart contracts and digital currencies, I´d like to do an internship in this area.

Has anyone ever done an internship in this area and can tell me about his / her expierence?

The main problem I see is that I do not have any experience if it comes to programming (Java, C+, Python etc...), so I don´t actually see what kind of benefit I can provide to a company in an internship?

I have a more or less solid understanding of the technology and I´m highly motivated to learn and acquire new knowledge, and if possible also programming skills.

My objectives are to gain a deeper understanding in one of the above mentioned areas.

For which kind of position do you think that a profile like mine could fit in (Undergraduate: Economics)?

Moreover, can you personally recommend any companies that are looking for ambitious interns, in which the tasks not only encompass copying papers and brewing coffee?

I´m happy for any advice,

kind regards and looking forward to your comments! Smiley
