Shut down Bitcoin Core. Find the Bitcoin Core datadir. Delete the file named mempool.dat. Open or create a text file named bitcoin.conf (.conf extension, no .txt extension). Add the following line to the file:
Now start Core. You should be able to do Abandon Transaction now.
Once you create your double spending higher fee transaction, stop Bitcoin Core and remove the line you added to the bitcoin.conf file.

I cannot get my wallet to sync. Left it on for a while. Restarted it several times. Have current nodes and a lot of connections. Repairwallet says it's fine.

I think the coin is as good as dead, it hasn't happened for ages and the thread creator was last online at the beginning of 2022. Therefore I assume you can't expect much from 1337, most of the remaining exchanges have 0 volume or are no longer listed on Coingecko, Coinmarketcap and Coinpaprika.
By the way, 1337 is also listed on the FreiExchange, even if there is 0 volume there.

Hi there, current 1337 lead dev here , I don't know how to say anything without saying too much.
I see you have a legendary account so i assume you have been around awhile.
Elites been around awhile also and is about to celebrate a birthday.
8 years and 4.2 million blocks since genesis. In that time many 1000s of coins have come and gone.
Elite is not one of them, Our discord and support are very active. I personally have 41 connections on my wallet atm.
That being said you are absolutely correct in observing the project as quite (for the moment)
The last few years have been rough lots of exits, delisting, scams ect . IM literally only here on bitcoin talk for the first time just to respond to you
for the first time in maybe two years because someone linked up your post in the discord .
I personally as well as many other devs have stepped away from any kind of marketing or anything front end simply because of all the NFT,

its definitely time for myself and a few others to come out of our rabbit holes of code and start talking to people again.
all that being said here's the skinny on 1337 . Elite has been in a pretty heavy update round for a few months , its old it needs a lot of love.
But ive been hugging on it hard. we haven't been seeking any listing because i don't want to have to beg for an update after the listing is granted.
most of he goals i set for this release have been reached , atm and i do mean its going on right now im scrubbing a copy of the chain for a clean snapshot.
its 127 hrs in and about 94% done the few last punch list items i have cant be touched till its competed i dare not interrupt it.
there will always be more to do but its been a really long time since we have pushed a release and it needs it bad.
The team has many members and many mods who are ready to spread any news but ultimately but ultimately the lack of activity lies on me
and ultimately it is I who must apologies to you any anyone else reading this following along who's wondering what the heck is "not" going on
My bad im sorry , But i am on it , I have a timeline, deadline that's very very soon but id prefer not to give a date
because im trying to give the community something nice and don't want to spoil it

We know Shurm77 fairly well and even for crypto hes been gone a long time.
I tried to send him an email a few days again still no word. hopefully,
he just needed a break and all is well with him.
For those who still don't know the copper chain stopped for
a significant amount of time... I want to say it was weeks.
A member of the lab and a few community members we able to get
the chain going again. The POS in copper has been
corrected and it's fulfilled its POS only destiny as originally coded.
You need a 2.0 wallet to be on the corrected chain.
Id not give up on copper just yet there are plans in the works
to defragment the community and exchanges are being
considered for listings.
