These are what I used in both of my rigs, I did not have any defects. Have heard that it’s a common problem though. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B074PS39BK/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Have 6 more for the rig I’m building this weekend and just ordered more last night.

My 6 card EVGA 1080 FTW rig pulls around 1000 watts & 9 amps at the wall. That’s @ 70TDP. A 5 card a rig I think a 1200 watt power supply would be fine.

Honestly I could not tell you if that’s optimal. I have only been doing this for a week or so. Just trying to share what information I have. Those were the hash rates when I looked before my last post. Just checked again hash rates are about the same as earlier. That is why I included what model and settings I am using. I would assume there will be some differences between models. I have 3 each of asus 1080 turbo and asus 1080 rog strix ordered I am curious to see how they compare to what I currently have.

Don’t pay inflated prices for your gpu’s. With patience and luck you can buy them for msrp.
I purchased 6 1080’s last night from amazon
3 asus 1080 turbo for 530 each and
3 asus 1080 rog strix for 580 each.

They won’t be in for a week or two, to me that’s worth the wait.

Asus, in the 20 plus years I've been building pc's I always try to stay with Asus. Performance and support have been top notch in my experience.

Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option

Hi all.

New to mining here and I just went all in for a 10x 1080ti zotac (3 fan) card rig! Kind of crazy with the current market for graphics cards and value of coins, I know but I got them at a decent price. Couple of quick questions for all you experts. I'm planning on increasing the card count to 13 + at some point in the near future. What and how many psu should I get?

I was looking at the EVGA super nova 1600, but I am open to any suggestions for what is safest and most cost effective.

I'm also using:
I7-7700
Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB Internal SSD,
2x 8gb ddr4 ballistix elite,
risers
Asus b250 mining expert.

Once I get everything set up I see through the 200+ pages here that there are plenty of algo and places to maximize profit and such so I won't go on about that portion for now.

Any help, suggestions or words of wisdom/ advice are welcomed! Please be kind haha.

Thanks.

PS, currently going through the entire forum now ...so if I find the answers before someone comments I'll delete this. Thanks agian.

I too just started mining. I have 6 Asus 1080ti turbo @ 65% pwr +150 core +300 memory I'm pulling around 1150 watts and 9.5 amps at the wall. just something to think about if you plan on having a 10-13 card rig with 1080ti's
