Bitcoin development can not exclude selfish to finish. Selfish, a human nature, do exist in everywhere, everytime before Jesus's back.
Fiat price of bitcoin reflect how people value bitcoin verse fiat. Price manipulation is everywhere. But no individual could change its fundamental value. It is natural result.
During bear market, Bitcoin development just keep going. All technical challenge like, high transaction fee will be solved, I believe.

Quoted from twitter John Mcafee:

"If you are a long term investor you will have no concerns. If you are short term, I can give you no advice, other than short term investers can hope for mediocrity at best, and oblivion at most likely. Great wealth can only be obtained by investing in the future - 2 to 5 years."

impossible, weakness of current monetary system is being revealed by social media.
If real economy keep growing, currency supply must be growing with acceleration of inflation. It is unavoidable.
This is the source of bubble of any assets with limited supply. All of you can see the bubble following the previous burst one is getting bigger n bigger.

Robust security and integrity of amount supplying and combined with borderless decentralized currency function ever made in human history! None of any kind of assets in our planet own all of these characteristics

It is the solid ground for decentralised economy development.

I think fiat and decentralized currency will coexist for the next two decade. Both Decentralized currency and fiat may be complement each other.

If absence of internet resources and power, there s no way to verify the validity of the private key on paper wallet.

If both fiat system and electricity is not recoverable, gold and Barter transaction Cool will prevail again.

The author basically assume that new economy will never come. For me it is not a good assumption.

The fatal weakness of mature economic system is being revealed, revolution is on the way, no entity can stop it. Personally, I d make this assumption.

BTC price curve, like other coins, have been following J pattern again and again. Now it seems a start of a new cycle of J pattern... and each pattern height is about tenfold.  Interesting!! Grin

New era of economy is coming. The revolution is on the way. Like AI, it is irreversible. Stop is impossible. Why? I dun know.

I hate cell phone, I hate internet, I hate email. I hate economic growth. Those lead us to be a slave. But is irreversible!!

The Consensus of limitation of Bitcoin supply will definitely keep growing, never shrink.

But why Bitcoin only? How about alt coin? Currently, we have very limited supply of code expert/programmers. In the near future, ICO projects is expected to continue to explode. This definitely disperse
code expert resources. Consensus of limitation of Bitcoin supply still be more trustable than altcoin at least for the coming decade.

Because of its robust security and integrity of amount supplying and combined with borderless decentralized currency function ever have in human history!

During world war, world internet may disconnected and lets assume that dispersed local network distributed all over the world . If ppl continue accept bitcoin as payment, there r enormous version of blockchains in world. Lets say, the end of world war the world rebuilt. World Internet reconnected, enormous version of blockchains data from dispersed local network must be reconnected or integrated. Under this circumstance, I wonder Bitcoin still workable?

Re: ETH next to BTC?
by
Newbie Wong
on 16/03/2018, 07:12:55 UTC
I believe Andreas Antonopoulos, fans of Bitcoin & Eth, the author of "Mastering bitcoin" https://github.com/bitcoinbook/bitcoinbook

He shared his opinion on this
https://youtu.be/qE_E7CWK4i8

He say they r not substitute. One Focus on robust security, the other for application. Because they have different characteristics. So they serve as different role. One is dedicate for Storage of wealth. The other one serve for the economic activity. Bitcoin transaction implemented in Smart contract may become true. They can work together synergy.

But, it is not surprised that in the short term ETH return will be higher than bitcoin since ICO activity is exploding!!

Bitcoin is the solid ground of the coming new economy, the decentralized economy!

Altcoin is the synergy!! without altcoin the way will be far longer
