Extract my ETC from my old wallet?
by
NewbieTreider
on 28/03/2017, 19:39:53 UTC
Hi,

I have a wallet with a few ETC. This wallet is a wallet that had ETH and ETC because was created before the hard fork.

In the past I withdraw all the ETH to another new wallet, and uptoday it have only ETC, what it the best method to send this etc for example to an exchange to reuse them?

TIA! Smiley

I'm failing super hard here. Can anyone please provide me with the directory to my Z Address wallet.dat file in Linux? Much thanks!

If you followed the basic intructions you can find your wallet.dat in your .zcash directory inside your home Smiley

... sorry I forgot to add my system info:

S.O.: Ubuntu 16.04 Headless
Driver: Amd Pro Drivers 16.40
GPU: Rx480

With 0.2.2 I don have any problem, but with 0.2.3 I can't start the miner, the message is
Code:
"This address is not valid ZCash T-address: ..."

I tried both options, the binaries provided and also I compiled the sources from github, but I get the same error...

Any ideas? Huh Sad
Have to ask, you are using a "t" address correct? not "Z" ?

So sorry!!!!! ... I'm stupid!!!.... I'm using a Z address instead a T address... but I used a Z address in previous miner... uhmmm some questions...

1.- Why now I need to use a T address?... like a I said I used a Z address in previous version.
2.- How I can see my T address with zcash-cli?
3.- Then I suppouse I need to send my wallet.dat and Z-address to extremal for transfer all my zcash to my T address... correct?

Thank you very very much, and sorry to all for these noobie questions Wink
There was issues with the wallet itself when using Z address for mining/payouts. That's all I know. As far as a T address There is a command to create one, if you have not already from within the wallet on Ubuntu. If you have created a T address then use that command to see it.. Ill have to look for it myself because I jumped off Ubuntu for Windows mining  Grin

Something like this to create lol

$ ./src/zcash-cli getnewaddress

Also, mull around in here: https://github.com/zcash/zcash/wiki/Beta-Guide

Thank you @MinermanNC!!!!

I discovered a way to see the T address if you don't have zcash like me!:

Code:
zcash-cli listreceivedbyaddress 0 true

lol....at the end I didn't realize about my T address and following the basic instructions I created a new T address....

In summary, now I have 2 T addresses and 3 Z addresses...

I suppouse all my addresses are related to my wallet.dat.... Do you know if I can use any of my T addresses?

Thanks again!

I'm trying the 0.2.3 but I get an error:

Code:
This address is not valid ZCash T-address: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx...

With 0.2.2. no problem, but impossible uses 0.2.3 due to this error. Using the same config.txt.

Anyone with the same issue?

I recently compiled the new version from github, but I get this error when I run xpmclient:

Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v7.3 (Windows/Linux)
by
NewbieTreider
on 24/10/2016, 20:38:09 UTC
v7.3:

- now miner supports HTTP for remote monitoring, you can check miner state remotely via browser, check "-mport" option for details.
- added temperature management for Linux gpu-pro drivers. Note: root access is required to manage fans speed.
- added "-fanmin" option.
- fixed issue with "-allcoins exp" option.
- EthMan: added options for number of decimal points in displayed statistics.
- some minor improvements and bug fixes.

Hi Claymore!

Due to the problems with fan management with linux pro drivers, I created a script in python to set the fan for every card in order to set a temperature. ( I send also the data to my telegram bot! Wink )

Can I use my script with this new version?... I mean... if your miner set the fans, perhaps I have a problem with my script. Tks!

No spelling errors and no capitalization.  How much did you pay for that account?

Yes, In the past I really liked the adam's comments... Now, it's another history, I'll never trust again in any comment from that account... Like I said... shit happens!

Re: Do you think that the current dump is going to destroy the image of bitcoin?
by
NewbieTreider

...
Those who had their bitcoin/money on bitfinex and were affected directly by all this... well, I imagine that's a different story as to what their image of bitcoin would be.

I agree at 100%, at the end someone that understand the point of view of affected users.

Don't make a mistake, I mean, I'm still a bitcoiner, in fact, I know that this it is not related with bitcoin itself. It's a problem of exchanges, but in my opionion it's not good for bitcoin enviroment.

I don't like the point of view that any exchange can delegate their losses to the users and create a coin as a bank. That's not good for anyone, but up today I think was the more acceptable decission intead of years of lawyers and so, wasting time, the most valuable coin.

I think that bitcoin can afford this, no doubt about it!, but at the moment exist a feeling of luck of trust..., at least in exchanges!. Like anyone told me: "Problem is yours, because you believe in them!".. and that's no good for bitcoin exchanges.

... is incredibly ignorant.  Describing the GFC of 2008 as some "money printing" is akin to calling Hiroshima "urban redevelopment".

Agree 100%. Your comparison with Hiroshima makes me laugh! LOL! xDD

In mobile, I used Bitcoin Ticker Widget and I want their alarm option for your desired price target.

Really nice!, I don't knew this widget. I was looking for something like this to see different exchange prices without enter an app.

Well, In PC I usually use Tradingview and Tradeblock, but normally I use the charts provided by the exchanges.

This may be the big one fellas...

25-09-16
buy before

Why before 25.09. ?

I suppose because a huge dump. This days are really "rare" in bitcoin exchanges, a lot of dumps, then pumps, then dumps... neverending story... in my opinion we get in this days a big dump (I don't know when) followed by a huge pump... but you know.. life is a mistery and then bitcoin is also a mistery. Who knows!
