Re: IOTA

Hey guys,

I am trying to send IOTA to another wallet (same wallet version, latest version). The receiving address has not been used before. When i try to send the coins i get this error message:

ERROR: PRIVATE KEY REUSE DETECTED!

You are attempting to sign a transaction with input that have an already been used. IOTA uses Winternitz one-time signature (W-OTS) scheme, due to it's `one-time` nature, the security of funds in an address decreases rapidly if you re-sign new transactions using the same key. Please wait for previous transaction to confirm, e.g. by reattaching, before sending another transaction.

I noticed that, when i create a new address it is found on the tangle and shows "1 transaction" (O I, pending). even though, obviously i havent sent anything to it yet. This happened several times now. What do i do wrong?

Hello,

For security reasons I want to verify the signature of the downloaded electron cash file. So I followed these instructions (https://www.linuxbabe.com/security/verify-pgp-signature-software-downloads-linux) but unfortunately on github there is no public key provided in form of an .asc file. Only this textfile:

Around 4 hours ago I have sent some safex to my wallet but it still says pending. Is this normal?

When I check my receiving address on "http://omnichest.info" the amount appears in the transaction history but it says "unconfirmed".

Sounds good. No problem, i can wait a few days.

I followed your steps but I still get the same error after the final "make" command. Everything before the last step goes smooth though, witout any errors.

This is what happens after "make":

Hey guys,

Is there no linux wallet for waves available? Cannot find any info about it. The chrome extension is not an option for me.

You can just use https://waveswallet.io.

Yeah but thats a web wallet... Is there no wallet client for linux available? Any plans to develop one?

Hello guys,

I downloaded the source code for linux from github and followed the installation instructions. After carrying out this commands

./autogen.sh
./configure
make

I get this error (after the "make" command):

"clientversion.cpp:42:19: fatal error: build.h: No such file or directory
compilation terminated."

I also tried "make install" with the same result. Anyone knows how to fix it

thats what i did on ubu 16.04 to install sys wallet:

sudo apt-get install libqt5gui5 libqt5core5a libqt5dbus5 qttools5-dev qttools5-dev-tools libprotobuf-dev protobuf-compiler
sudo apt-get install libboost-system-dev libboost-filesystem-dev libboost-chrono-dev libboost-program-options-dev libboost-test-dev libboost-thread-dev
sudo apt-get install build-essential libtool autotools-dev automake pkg-config libssl-dev libevent-dev bsdmainutils

sudo apt-get install software-properties-common
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:bitcoin/bitcoin
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:syscoin/syscoin
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install libdb4.8-dev libdb4.8++-dev

./autogen.sh
./configure
... make ...

Thanks. Still get the same error when following your steps. Inbetween I get this message tho after "sudo add-apt-repository ppa:syscoin/syscoin" :

'This PPA does not support xenial'
Cannot add PPA: ''This PPA does not support xenial''.

Hello,

I have difficulties to install the wallet under linux. Im using Mint18 based on Ubuntu 16.04 and followed the instruction in the readme file. What I did was the following:

sudo apt-get install qt5-default qt5-qmake qtbase5-dev-tools qttools5-dev-tools build-essential libboost-dev libboost-system-dev libboost-filesystem-dev libboost-program-options-dev libboost-thread-dev libssl-dev libdb++-dev libminiupnpc-dev libqt5webkit5-dev

(to install the required packages)

then I opened the terminal in the directory of "spectre-1.2.0.0" and typed in:

make

and get this error/result:

cd /home/mylinux/XSPEC/spectre-1.2.0.0/src/leveldb && CC=gcc CXX=g++ make OPT="-m64 -pipe -fstack-protector-all --param ssp-buffer-size=1 -O2" libleveldb.a libmemenv.a
/bin/sh: 1: cd: can't cd to /home/thomas/Wallets/_Problem
Makefile:950: recipe for target '/home/mylinux/XSPEC/spectre-1.2.0.0/src/leveldb/libleveldb.a' failed
make: *** [/home/mylinux/XSPEC/spectre-1.2.0.0/src/leveldb/libleveldb.a] Error 2

Anyone knows how to fix it or can provide more installation instructions? Thank you.

Hi,

I'm new to linux and dont get the qt wallet and electrum wallet of XVG working. Im working on Mint-18 64 bit based on ubuntu 16.04 and have the following situation:

- If I double click the 'VERGE-qt' file nothing happens.
- If I double click and run the 'electrum-xvg' file in the electrum-xvg-master folder nothing happens.

if I follow the installation instructions from the readme file I get an error after typing in this:

sudo pip install pyasn1 pyasn1-modules pbkdf2 tlslite qrcode

Error: "Could not find a version that satisfies the requirement upgrade (from versions: )
No matching distribution found for upgrade"

The electrum and qt wallets from other coins are working fine though. Any thoughts?

we'd need a more specific error than that in order to help. what happens when you install the python deps from the setup.py?

That was it. Thank you. The electrum wallet is starting with doubleclick now. Btw I get this message if I run it in terminal:

verifier thread running
"sni-qt/22441" WARN  00:31:18.720 void StatusNotifierItemFactory::connectToSnw() Invalid interface to SNW_SERVICE

How about the qt wallet? Are there any installation instructions available?

Yesterday I activated my delegated harvesting, selected a node and pressed play.

When i logged in today it says "select a node to harvest on". The stop button is still there though. Does it mean it is still harvesting on the node i chose yesterday? Cause if i want to select a node i first have to press the stop button..

About the harvesting:

Just to be sure. I just follow the instructions, click the tiny play button and that´s it? No need to make further settings? Except for checking if the node is still connected once in a while. The node doesn´t matter security-wise or are there differences between the nodes?

And there is no additional risk in loosing my funds whatsoever when I use delegated harvesting?

Thanks!

Yes, no need for further settings. Instead of the Play-button, you see now a Stop-button. This also indicates that your harvesting is running.

You can also monitor the connection of your node via "NEMnotifications"-Bot on Telegram ( Atm however, I think is is broken).

Yes, there is no additional risk loosing your funds. The delegated Node has no access to your funds.

Great. Thanks, mate!

Well "usually" is not really convincing. So the safe way which 100% ensures that I will be able to recover my funds is a private key and that can be any private key belonging to my wallet?

Are there any plans to add an electrum like seed in the future?

Yes, open source code will have HD support (Hierarchical Deterministic).
