Retiring in 2024 is still an outstanding achievement for a S9, I mean with the crazy last years BTC's difficulty and the low efficiency of the said S9, this was nice for you to be able to still get free sats until now! (or did you do lottery mining in solo? I would have if I had only 1 S9 with free electricty tbh)

You can sell it for some dollars, the same for the PSU if it is still ok...
A s9 is not rare enough to be gift to a mining museum.

Where are you located?
Moncton Canada.

And I would like to point out that I purchased it for $65 off of eBay.

My approximate guess for the amount of money that it has earned is....

49x 65...... So the obsolete s9 made approximately $3,000..   😁👍

So I'd say it had a good run.  And my intent is to put it back on eBay for about what I paid for it.

⭐ Merited by vapourminer (1)
So my s9 mining away for the last 3 years is due to be retired in a month.

The location of which I was mining with free power is changing hands and I have to pull the s9

/Mourn   with me plz.

Id like to thank this community from 3 years ago helping me get that obsolete thing running efficiently.

Any ideas what I can do with this boat anchor?

The article seems to be neither for or against, merely informative.

I would take this as a positive.   the fact that the BOC is starting to talk about crypto in a light other then its bad means brains are being engaged in a positive fashion.   and while this isnt about BTC,  theres no way to delve in to this without brains being introduced to btc.

This feels like engagement farming.

I say this since.

You can have a valid argument in either direction.

here is where the real argument is.

Free cash.   what does it get spent on?  who reinvests it more? who buys more toys/beauty products?   << that right there is where the answers are.

This is a political agitator

You should ignore him/it/bot.

This thing/it/bot takes control of the message by making the claim/attempt to separate free speech in to free speech and hate speech.

There is Only free speech.  You have it.   Or you Do not have it.

While I am all for better farming methods.   The OP here has started his post off with some falsehoods to promote the idea.

Land hasn't become lesser.   Its Just as available as it was.   Urbanization isn't chewing up significant amount of farmland.

Some facts.   Humanity is producing almost 400% more food while only using 33% of the same plot of land as we did 75 years ago.

Now, as I said I like good ideas.  Do not lie to promote them or you Will get smashed in this day and age.   Most people have had enough of the crap the media shoves at us.  If by chance you are simply repeating someone else's lies while promoting this please do some more research about traditional farming and modern farming.

ty have a nice day

Re: Why do people stay poor?
by

I am going to say something unpopular.

The vast majority of people do not think.   This sounds offensive but let me explain a bit.

Humanity is extremely good at a couple of things.  One of them is Mimicry ..  in short simple terms  monkey see monkey do.

This also applies to thought.   We can grab other peoples idea and though patterns for ourselves  FAR cheaper And easier then thinking up something on our own.  so most people don't think. (the unpopular part)

We Grab Other peoples Ideas And use Them As Our Own.  The Good The Bad And The Ugly.

The downside of this is bad ideas perpetuate.  Part of this is short term good can equal long term bad.    and we all know intelligence isn't equal as much as we would like it to be.

Be aware that there is a Pareto distribution of ALL wealth.

There is also a Pareto distribution of skills

If you know these two things you can see that aiming for the top is a low probability of success.

Aiming for the middle high of 2 or 3 sets of skills is almost a guaranteed success.   More skills taken to middle high increases chances of success

And Yes I am using Chance instead of "hard work"   hard work will only increase "Chance"

This type of problem is going to go away shortly with the satellite swarms and phones very shortly going to be able to access the sats directly without cell towers.

The centralization of the sat swarm is a problem at this time but with time other swarms are going to pop up.

Re: How we survive food shortages
by
Nhazwrath
on 01/06/2023, 10:58:15 UTC
Food shortages have being a big problems in the global world today where tremedious things are happening people finds it difficult to buy food especially, rice products, climate change has devastated  the whole global world where crops can no longer do well in the farming system, believe with this new information about the crypto space can  our climate change system be put together where there will be high rate of food shortages in the global world as a new beginner I want to know we can fix this things I mentioned.

I know this was posted a few months ago.

There Hasn't been a food shortage that wasn't political in nature since the great depression

Crops are doing better then ever.   So no idea where to got that information.  If it was the news then you should immediately stop listening to anything they have to say.

As a example we produce 2/3s more food now on 1/4 of the land as we did only 50 years ago.   so,  yah,  no such thing as a food shortage that Isn't political motivated.   And, this number is set to go up even higher.

Climate change is a political story btw.  The claim that cO2 is a disaster is easily dis-proven since co2 is plant food is measured in parts per million (ppm). It  doesn't even make the top 3 greenhouse gases.  Water vapor is primary,  not by a little bit buy by a rather stunningly large margin.  65-85% is water vapor.  Co2 is 0.004 ish  of that 0.004 about 3% is human.  Which translates to 0.00012 ish co2 belongs to human production.

So I applaud the concern but the source of information you are getting this from are probably lying to you even if they don't know they are lying.

Did you know...  You are carbon?  Assuming you are not a silicon bot.

Did you know...  CO2 is not the primary greenhouse gas?  It's not even close btw.

Assuming you are not a bot.   Maybe stop listening and repeating lies told to you by people that do not have your best interest at heart.

Wow.   What a load of crap.

Lie number 1.   CO2 is Air Pollution.  Its not.  Its plant food.

Lie Number 2.   Claiming that the CO2 is contributing to deaths as air Pollution

Lie number 3.   Giving someone like You money would reduce CO2.

Lie Number 4.   Calling this a NFT.

There is literally Zero truth in your statement.  If I was Not also a free speech person Id ban you for scamming.

Re: The Impact of Climate Change on the Financial World Where Will the Crypto World?
by

on 14/04/2023, 15:02:01 UTC
CO2 doesn't even register in the top three of primary greenhouse gases.   Knowing this do you wish to retract some of your rhetoric on human centric climate change?

And for your information on the the primary greenhouse gas as in number one.   It's water vapor. Good old H2O   And the percentage is between 65% and 85%.  Depending on where you are on the planet.   CO2 on the other hand has to fight with methane because they both absorb energy on the same wavelength.   Both those gases are in Trace amounts.

So I will say that you yourself have been persuaded incorrectly.   And my point about it being transmissible stands

Re: The Impact of Climate Change on the Financial World Where Will the Crypto World?

In light of these challenges, it's important to consider the potential implications and prepare for the potential changes that may be on the horizon.
Climate change is just an issue that is exhaled by the elite. I don't why that issue is always discussed in irony, yes irony, they are meeting in air-conditioned rooms and go to the meeting room by driving motor vehicles. I will listen them if they meet on a forest where don't use any electricity or gas facility. so why listen them, when they not reduce it themself.

Same, if they talk about crypto where unfriendly with the environment, they said that while in a coal-fired room. So, doesn't affect to anything even the financial world

Climate change is the responsibility of all of humanity and we can feel it for ourselves without listening to anyone. What you say is not wrong, but if each of us is more conscious and uses energy more efficiently, we are contributing to prolonging our own life. We don't have to listen and follow what they say because climate change is impacting us directly daily. Honestly, my country is going through a period of extreme heat, this has never happened before, the temperature is increasing every year, it's alarming.

Feel it for ourselves?   Really?  You managed to feel the weather 10,000 years ago to compare it to now?  Please explain how "whats" never happened before?  With science not feelings.

I am harsh on this point due to the fact that there are bad actors out there that attack on a vector you don't understand and since you don't understand it you have no defense against it.  Its called persuasion,  It takes many Many forms good and bad.  Its a tool like anything else.

I Seriously recommend studying it some before you listen to people who will fill you with half truths.  And get you running in a direction without being conscious about it.

The best part is its transmissible so a bad/good actor themselves may not know they transmitting it.

This is how religions, meme's and, philosophy's gain power.

People who study English LiT as primary study are especially susceptible to it.  why? since they also tend to Not study hard logic.

Approximately, does anyone know how much the Nominal DSP Fund (Ready to Use Fund) is plotted by a country if it occurs at any time for the affected areas?

Climate change is a global issue that affects everyone, regardless of their social or economic status. I think, This is not just an elite problem. While some people may talk about it in air-conditioned rooms and using motorized vehicles, it is still a critical issue and needs to be addressed. In addition, the environmental impact of crypto is also a concern to overcome.

lets go with some basic science.

What is the primary greenhouse gas?
