Just an update to anyone who wants to use the mac wallet. It's been added to the OP and it's packaged with a shell script. The script removes the old Pesa wallet files (except for the wallet.dat). Run this script before using the wallet and you should be all set.

Okay, the OP has been updated. You must run the batch or shell script contained in the archive before running the wallet. This clears out your Pesa AppData and allows for the new wallet to function. If you're more comfortable doing this yourself, then please remove all files except for the wallet.dat. Thanks, we're glad to be back.

Hey guys, yes we're still here and yes we're working on the update. Things are going pretty well so far, and we're on track for the August 11 release. Alex will continue to update everyone on the progress.

We’re happy to announce the addition of Alessandro Vecchi to our team as a Public Relations specialist. He goes by ‘Ale’ or ‘Alex’, username ‘flunkie’, and he will be able to offer an improvement in the frequency and content of our posts here on the thread, as well as on Twitter and any future social media we incorporate into the Pesa project.

Alex has been interested in cryptocurrency since 2012, although he became involved in mining Litecoin in 2013. He has also been involved in web design and development for the altcoin community in the past. He is currently attending university in the United States, working towards a Computer Science degree with a minor in Communications.

Alex has a broad range of knowledge regarding cryptocurrency, especially those that overlap with Pesa’s specifications. He will be able to answer any general questions about Pesa that pop up in the thread, and he will also be in direct contact with Max and the developer and will pass along any important or official news and updates.

Due to the restricting nature of the Bitcointalk thread regarding notifications and mobile monitoring, the fastest and most direct way to contact Alex about any question or concern will be through the official Twitter account, @pesacrypto. Regardless, Alex will be constantly monitoring the thread and posting daily, at a minimum.

Currently looking into Mac specific problems with syncing and staking. If anyone who is having trouble with the Mac wallet could DM or post specifics, it would be a big help in nailing down the problem. Thanks.

Our newest member will be introduced in ~30 minutes

Our new PR team member will be introduced at 7PM UTC here on the thread.

We've done the most testing on the Windows wallet, since we think it is probably the most popular.

This is the issue we are having. We can't seem to replicate any of the staking or syncing problems on our test wallets. The developer is currently reviewing the client code to see if he can come up with any possible suspects, but as far as we can tell, everything is working as it should.

We have chosen to add a PR person to the team. We will introduce them here on the thread soon.


Each of these features will be added to the wallet at roughly the same time. The upcoming revision to the white paper will outline our initial plans for smart contracts and how we will utilize the community to decide on further wallet functionality.

Hello Pesa community,

We’ve been hard at work laying out the structure for an interesting new feature based on smart contracts for the Pesa client. The details will be outlined in the next update of the Pesa white paper. We think that it's pretty awesome, but obviously we will need the community's approval before entering the development phase.

Additionally, we’ve noticed the numerous requests for an increase in presence on the thread and more attention to PR in general. We’re going to try and accomplish this by rearranging some responsibilities within our team, and possibly even bring someone new on to handle this position. We will keep you guys updated and let you know if we decide to bring someone on from the forums or elsewhere.

Another concern is the issue with staking. It is important to note that as the staking difficulty rises, rewards from staking become harder and less frequent. Regardless, we’re looking into any possible code issue with the staking and we will push an update to the wallet if we find something.

Besides that, we’re glad that these concerns have been raised by the community, since it shows us that you guys care as much as we do. Thanks for your support, and stay tuned for the updated white paper and wallet.
