If the internet is shutdown there are more fundamental problems than the utility of bitcoin.

If the internet is shut down, BTC would not be one of the top concerns for many people at all. This will not happen for obvious reasons. I wouldn't worry.

The US government blows things up because blowing things up is a component of GDP. A rising GDP gives the government an excuse to claim that the economy is doing well, which gives them an excuse to borrow money to spend on blowing more things up, also known as "providing government services." This borrowed money is provided by the central bank, known as the Federal Reserve, which prints money out of thin air to lend to the US government to blow things up, at interest. This interest is also known as the national debt, and will never be repaid anyways so it doesn't matter. Welcome to America.

Yea that is a light way to put it. Nowadays it is hard to imagine a world without internet, those images are reserved for nightmares lol

Same here. I also buy virtual items for various games I play. And bitcoins makes it possible to make micro-payments which is a huge bonus when It comes to buying virtual game items/gold/etc.
I just sell things/services for my bitcoins. I prefer not to buy them unless I have to. Currently I do not have the equipment needed to make a profit on mining so I resort to trading.
I've gotten offered cash in person for BTC. I have a thing about getting to know someone a little bit online first before meeting them in public. If I had enough BTC I would offer it to people in my area for USD cash. But to be honest with the gas prices I would expect for the prices to be raised depending on where the buyer and seller lives I guess.

I usually never lend out more than 1 BTC when someone asks me. Even if i trust the person I might not see the BTC returned to me for quite some time. So to avoid anger I only do 1 BTC at a time.

How is it capped. Has the inventor set a limit or something? Sorry I am new to this.
The number of bitcoins produced is set in the code of the software. There will never be more than 21 million. And welcome fellow peer! I can see the difference between bitcoins and real physical currency being the cap. Had no idea about this until i read this post. Does not surprise me that there would be a cap.
Very good information. I probably won't need to do all that as I don't like to have a big amount of BTC in my wallet. I usually earn some BTC then spend it once I get a decent amount. But this seems like a good guide for those who do insane or big BTC trades.
Yea I really haven't had a lot of BTC pass through my PC but I do feel insecure. The exchanges I never use to hold my BTC i usually keep it in my btc wallet. Very good read, good and useful information for people to better secure themselves. The main thing I get concerned about when it comes to security is when I choose to buy stuff with bitcoins I really can only name a couple legit online stores to spend bitcoins.
