Order #29xx made on February 18, 2013. Order status: completed.

What is the transaction number when you paid?

Date: February 18, 2013 06:28:35 PM

I think Avalon ships according to the transaction number.

just for you (since I've noticed not many have been providing this info) here's mine.

I received mine a few days ago, I expect/hope you will get yours soon!

*NOTE* one thing I noticed and really worried about when I placed my order was that I neglected to add a fee, and I remember my transaction took a very long time to get into the blockchain. (over an hour for my first confirmation)  -- as you can imagine this was quite nerve wracking at the time and I have second guessed myself ever since... but it appears as though it had no effect on the shipping queue. In my case at least, it appears that I was placed in the queue as soon as I hit the button, not when the payment cleared.

Take heart, and may your avalon arrive soon and hash fast like a cheetah! (*side note, most batch 2's can hit 345 MHz no problem, so if you were expecting 66 GH/s you may be pleased to be surprised with 75+ sustained*)

ProfMac, n of 1 here but I don't see that the shipping is by transaction #. My transaction is in the block after shmadz and he has his, and I'm still stuck on processing.

Seconded, they must have an internal queue, which differs slightly from when the orders were paid.

I've found jalapenos running generally really cool (38-42 deg C) if this is at all comparable to GPU temps heat shouldn't be an issue for longevity.

That said the higher the environment temp, the more hardware errors you get, the lower they seem to clock themselves.

This is bizarre, does it really solve what it means to solve (indication of trust/activity)?

Here's my duo Jala setup, pretty much a carbon copy of what you did:

OSX developer here, currently checking whats involved to get a working solution.

Are you looking for a self installing package(requires root/admin password to install)? or a bundle(dependencies are bundled)?, either?

Re: What type of reg would you build for 120k?
by

Tough question. If I were contracted by a company with a 120 kUSD budget, I would either first look to acquire a company like Avalon or put the money in a bank account. Buying a rig now is pretty much a waste of money, as the ASICs will arrive far to late to be profitable.
Avalon took in $25million for preorders... good luck getting them to sell for 180k   Cheesy

Your math is off

300*1300 + 600* 1500 = 1,290,000

or roughly $1.3million.

Unless you know of a secret batch # 3?

if SHA-256 is partially broken, and its proposed to swap one of the 2 algorithms with a newer replacement such as say Keccak (SHA-3), you'd see some resistance from large ASIC investors as it's no longer feasible to use their infrastructure once the swap happens. We'd be back to GPUs or very likely the swap would be announced for a future date (a few months), giving enough time for new ASICs to be developed that run the new algorithms.

The urgency of the swap would largely depend on how much SHA-256 is broken, if difficulty can't be set hard enough or becomes too closely to being able to break the address space (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=107172.0), then urgency would be high.

Either way an interesting and potentially volatile situation.

the address you see on the left with QR code is the address you pay to. Copy-paste or use a mobile payment app with qr reader.

Pay exact amount, and once the transaction is visible to walletbit it will show payment complete.

but also any change in the protocol would need the acceptance of the majority of bitcoin users.

Even if SHA-256 is partially broken (say easier to find hashes, but not fully broken), you-d see major resistance from ASIC miners. You might even get a split network.

Whoever holds the crowd holds the coinvalue.
