Took a bit longer than I wanted it to, but the new stratum server is up and running 100% of EU (still gotta move the others). Its looking _really_ good. Extremely fast, slightly higher than previous reject rates, but not outside of what was expected (2-3%). Short-term profitability looks better for EU compared to others, which makes me think its going to help overall, but could just be a luck-bump at the exact time that I look at it (of course it would be..)
Looks really good, i did reset counters when new stratum came alive, 0% rejected so far.

Re: [ANN][POOL] Profit switching pool - wafflepool.com
when a coin switch happened, or when a new block was found, and we sent new work to the miner, the miner would be forced to do a pipeline flush (read "stop working" for a very short bit). During that time, these jacked up miners would submit the shares they hadn't submitted yet. We would accept them because they were coming in just after a switch, and we were being forgiving. However, in most cases (block changes are far more often than coin switches), these shares had a 0% profitability (they were stale).
I am new to mining, ....
Doesn't "difficulty" also have the same effect? Didn't you set the minimum difficulty to 512?
Quote
On faster coins, these block changes are every few seconds, and that delay makes a huge difference in profitability.
So, let's say that with a difficulty of 512, I am submitting shares every 4 seconds. Wouldn't that make most of my shares stale?
Any guess on the share submission rate per 1MH/s with a difficulty level of 512?
1.5-2 shares per minute

Re: [ANN][POOL] Profit switching pool - wafflepool.com
GHash.IO is back under 25GH/s now, and back to a 2x multiplier.
After watching the reward multiplier for a bit, this is definite: - GHash.IO uses PPLNS where N covers the last 10 shifts. - Reward multiplier is determined by the pool's average speed during the PREVIOUS round.
So, possibly a good strategy right now (until they change the rules again): - Throw all of our WafflePool's hashing power at GHash for brief periods; rack up the share percentage in one round, and then cut everything when they switch rounds again. - If we did this for one shift every 5 or 10 shifts, we could possibly get paid out at 2x for the majority of rounds (as long as nobody else starts doing this).
It's too dangerous. They are man, no coin. Anyway, GHash will overtake 25G forever in a few hours. I was only 1G left in it.
When "Current multiplier"=x2, profit is 145%, not 200%(less block then expect) So when "Current multiplier"=x1.25, profit will be 90.63%
Hey sfire, could you post a pic or two how does multi-ghs scrypt mining facility looks from inside?

Also nothing stops them to bring in hefty pool fee when they see it appropriate.

Miners end up destroying that 'bonus' offer by themselves, i guess that is part of the cex plan.

Re: [ANN][POOL] Profit switching pool - wafflepool.com
Yep, big guy left (I assume for GHash for this week).
I've got some proxying code in testing currently, assuming it works fine, in the next few hours we should be reaping all the benefits of the GHash promo, without you guys having to do anything.
Essentially, miners pointed to WP will keep having shares logged at WP, earnings logged at WP etc. The earnings will be a bit less granular due to needing to be manually proxied. I'll take the earnings from Ghash, and move it into WP as if we had found X number of LTC blocks, where X is [earnings / 50]. So once this is live, should see blocks found slow down (we won't be finding them) and every hour or so, a massive influx of "found blocks", and payouts from those
Excellent, mr. Pw

Re: [ANN][POOL] Profit switching pool - wafflepool.com
I'm working on it right now. Essentially its an issue with having fewer coins actively being mined (just because there are fewer profitable in the last day or so). If we start on litecoin, switch to doge, and go back to lite before a block has been found, we end up with some duplicate shares. I'm working on a patch right now, not sure on ETA though. Has nothing to do with EU vs other servers, should be across the board.
Hello
I've been mining on useast server for last 10 hours and having roughly 15 times less rejected shares than i had prior to that on eu server.

3.74% rejected rate for last 10 hours of mining on eu server.
