Re: A secure Coinomi wallet setup?
by

If you want to store erc20 tokens, then using my ether wallet in a offline computer and making offline transactions are more secure than this one. If you once get online then your phone is not offline anymore.

Thanks for your answer.

Sadly, I don't have erc20 tokens. My Altcoins are not connected to Ether and mainly stand-alone coins (for e.g. SYS is one of them). Otherwise I would go with my ether wallet ofc ;-)

A secure Coinomi wallet setup?
by
Novize
on 11/02/2018, 19:24:39 UTC
Hello everyone,

I've already asked this question on reddit but didn't get an answer. So maybe someone here is able to give me one Smiley

The original question:

I'm hodling a bunch of Altcoins. Some of them doesn't have an Electrum wallet which is my wallet of choice whenever it's possible (don't have to download the whole blockchain, open source and multiplatform support). My idea now is to use my old Galaxy Nexus Android device with the latest possible Lineage OS / Cyanogenmod without any additional apps (no PlayStore / Google services etc.) besides Coinomi installed. I would export the Private Keys to a LUKS encrypted USB Stick as a backup and would remain the Android device turned off and offline as long as I don't want to use the wallets.

Is this a setup which can be considered as "secure as possible"? I understand that a hardware wallet would be safer, however the hardware wallets doesn't support all of the Altcoins I'm hodling and using the desktop wallets isn't an alternative to me because of the disk space and bandwidth which is needed in order to keep syncing them.

Thanks in advance.

Re: FIFO oder LIFO bei Gewinnermittlung für die Steuer
by
Novize
on 06/12/2017, 22:36:48 UTC
Hallo zusammen,

No mod will remove this topic of yours, you have to do it.
At the down-left corner you will see a tab saying "move topic",press it and done.

Thanks ... well, I've searched everywhere expect in the down left area of the topic  Cheesy

Good luck to your bot, although it seems familiar with another one i saw recently... Roll Eyes

Well, if you wanna say with that, that you think I "copied" the bot from another one I can guarantee you, I've did the modifications to the example script by myself. The bot fits for my purposes, maybe it helps another person as well. However, thanks.

pyLendiex - A Poloniex Python lending bot (compatible with an Raspberry Pi)
by

on 16/08/2017, 08:32:04 UTC
Hello everyone,

I've coded a small but functional Poloniex lending bot, called pyLendiex. The bot is fully open source (GPL v3) and can be found on GitHub: https://github.com/novize001/pyLendiex.

pyLendiex is written in Python 3 and provides the following major features (in version 0.1):
  • Automatic lending for any coin which is allowed to be lend on Poloniex
  • A central configuration file where you can set specific settings for every single coin
  • You can set multiple values including a fixed rate (which will be used as a minimum of interests) per coin.
  • The bot is working under Linux, MAC and Windows (it also works on a Raspberry Pi)

pyLendiex is originally based on an example script, made by the GitHub user s4w3d0ff: https://github.com/s4w3d0ff/python-poloniex. This bot also uses the Poloniex Python API bindings.

I've also written down a more complex tutorial on how to get this bot working under Debian / Ubuntu / Raspbian as well: http://www.mybitcoin.space/2017/08/pylendiex-v01-released.html

Feedback and improvement suggestions are welcome.

If you want to, you can leave me a tip at following addresses:

yes. It seems keep going to the MOON!

i don't see any moon yet the coin is stuck at 100 satoshi, the pump was to 250 satoshi which is still very low as a value speaking, until it go to 1000 satoshi you can't talk about moon here, i guess it can reach DGB ATH but require huge investment, and the supply here is higher than DGB by 10x, so this is a big deterrent

no, it isn't. It's just 2x the supply of DGB. However, the devs are way more serious with their project than the DGB devs are. The development in DGB is really stucking while Verge is approaching on their road map almost daily.

XVG have not 2x supply of DGB and anyway it has a better technology and I think it will value more than DGB in the future.

Supply of XVG at now is 13.5B and DGB 8.7B. Total supply for Verge is so far in years.

The overall supply of XVG is 16.555B. 13.5B are in circulation right now. So compared to the overall suppy, it's almost 2x of DGBs supply. But I totally agree with the rest of your statement :-)

How come this difference in price between Ether and Stratis? As i can see people talking about advantages over eth, and still eth is on the top and all major talks are about Ether, even  Mr. Putin holdling Ether for hand..You need more aggressive marketing i believe.

It's for sure marketing as well as the fact that Ethereum is existing and used for a longer period of time now. Give Stratis time to evolve and spread the word. That's the best you can do (for now) Smiley

If you know the history you will be surpised. Ethereum was launched 2014 and its only this year that apps where really into smart contracts. But it  took a lesser than 2 years  to hump over a dollar and as compare to Stratis' less than a year to gain it. Tell you what, wait stratis to launch its first ever sidechain then come back here and let's have a cup of coffee and talk about stratis more. Don't worry my treat Wink

Wow, this sounds even more amazing. No doubt, Stratis is a really good investment. Because of the coffee: Sure, let's do this. Tongue Maybe next year then? Or is there any ETA for the sidechains within Stratis?

If bitcoin steadily climb up again, that .012 might become .05 cents by next year or possible by this year? No one can ever predict cryptocurrency is always putting us everybody in volatile state.

Yes, of course the price of XVG is bound to Bitcoin. However, before we can talk about .05 cents, we have to see XVG going up to 500 sats (or even better) 1000 sats. If this breakout goes hand in hand with the steady Bitcoin climb up, I see .05 $ beginning next year as well for XVG.

My speculation with sia is .03 by December.

You mean USD cents? .03 BTC would be insane (and impossible imho).

I really trust in Stratis. I'm a long term investor here. I like the concept, the idea and especially the good work the devs are doing. Also like the idea of POS more than POW because you get rewarded for investing rather than "wasting resources and energy". So devs, keep up the good work Smiley

I'd be happy to see it break 500-1000 SATs. $1? that might be years away.

I get what your saying, it's just that I've experienced this type of growth with other Coins that shared similar fundamentals to those of $XVG that it's very difficult not to see the same happen to this Coin - it's hard to ignore.

Overall we're entering a different sphere of how things are evolving, and at the top of it all is "Technological Change".  Look into Vernor Vinge's ideas about exponentially accelerating technological change.  Really cool ideas that might help one to see that the $1.00 mark is not as far as one might think.

$XVG to $1.00

We already come from far, considering that only recently XVG was priced in the single Satoshi area. $1 may be too far- fetched for now, being realistic, I would be happy with a break of the 500 mark mid- term

what is 500 mark? Half a dollar?

Talking about 500 satoshis mark, which is (right now) 0,012$

i can see only staking with raspberry...

If you're on Linux you can use the same guide to build the desktop wallet for your Linux desktop / server. If you're on Windows or MAC, you can use pre compiled binaries. Mexal posted the link to them before.

I payed 0.2 Stratis for all transactions from Bittrex to my Ledger.
That is just a little bit cheaper than Bitcoin.
Other cointransactions from Bittrex were much cheaper (only a few dollarcent).

Seems like this is an Bittrex issue. On Poloniex I have to pay 0.01 per transaction which are around about 9 cents right now. That's way cheaper than Bitcoins fees.

Hard to say. I think that a crash of all the Alts doing well right now might happen somewhere near the future.

However, as someone already stated in this thread, Ethereum was a big thing this year. I also think that XVG (Verge) and SC (Siacoin) have a lot of potential and are undervalued right now. Also think and feel that STEEM and Stratis will rise more in the future.

Thank you guys for the ride.
Now I am back in bitcoins and looking for new opportunities.
When bitcoin goes to the Moon, there is a lot of stupid money coming and it is FOMO buying shitcoins.
Sure, I think this can still reach 1 usd/Verge, but it is not probable with so many coins outsanding.
There are a lot of coins that have been bought sub 10 satoshi and that money is happy to exit for 100 X.

There might be a rebound coming during the weekend as new hot money flows into cryptos... But personally I am getting worried though.

I will make it public if I decide to invest some altcoin for short/long term later.

your last few posts from today have been hawking Verge--including that it's the best coin both long and short term.  Also that you're expecting bullish movements over the weekend. A few hours later you say you're completely out and worried?

This! I've always respected the posts made by TrueCryptonaire. Feels like that this times are over now.

However, I'm still into Verge. The development is just too good and strong the leave the boat now.

i have a question... current price is 0.006 ... how much more will this keep rising?

is this a pump and dump coin ? :/

The current price is 0.00000217 actually and if the coin really keeps constantly rising is something only the future can tell you. Maybe yes, maybe it goes down again, nobody knows. The project itself looks good, there is an active, constant development. Factors which are obviously good but not a guarantee.

WOW.  I was looking at the Verge orderbook on Bittrex and noticed something very unusual.  After 400 satoshis, the orderbook is mostly empty.  I saw one sell order at 20,000 satoshis.  After that, nothing.

OK, as I am writing this, I am seeing a few orders fill in, at 500, 800, 1000 and a few other price points.  Guys, if someone came in right now with 1000 BTC, and bought everything, that would put the price at 1000 Satoshis.  If the orderbook stays as empty as it is right now, the sky is the limit to the price of this coin ! ! !

As you are reading this, has the orderbook filled in, or are you seeing the same thing I am?

If a look at the order book from cryptopia, I see regular orders up to 10000 sats. Above this, there are huge gaps. But overall it looks like a "healthy order book".

Still holding strong. Feels good having predicted this at the first little bump to 60 sat a few days ago. Obviously I regret not being the "15 million guy", ...

I've bought myself in with 0.2 BTC while XVG was 60 sats. "If I would have known, that ..." but to be honest, I'm already proud to be a part of this pump. You should never go all in with one coin and this could mean you miss big opportunities, but hey, if it would be that easy we would be all millionaires  Grin
