How does that work if persistence is set to live mode? That means all changes are lost when you power off. The usb stick you create will lose the python installation.

I'll stick with Tales OS, still the best platform for keeping information locked.

Puppy linux with no network connection resides entirely in RAM. Provided you don't save content to the flash drive, there is no trace of anything you do. Combine this with truecrypt and you've got a great system.

I only just saw this but I've been using your vault puppy bitcoin armory solution for a long time now. Send me a bitcoin address and I'll send a few bits your way.

Any chance of doing the same thing with the latest bitcoin armory version?

Has anyone been able to get armory working with puppy linux?
by

on 05/08/2014, 10:39:59 UTC
I'm using slacko 5.7 and armory 0.92. I install the offline bundle but it cannot find python. I create a symbolic link to python and it cannot find psutils. I install various items to try to get this working and end up with gcc not being able to build psutils due to a missing limits.h.

My frustration won over and I gave up. Did anyone figure it out?

I confirm that I have been refunded. Thanks.  Smiley

Refunds sent today

8 full refunds from PMs (including Nullops)
3 partial refunds from PMs (lesnod, dyask and FraMI)

If you have already sent an email or PM do not send it again. Once is enough. You will not receive a reply until you are paid.

I made a few updates to the spreadsheet.

I indicated the 'user' column is for the bitcoin talk username with btc-arbs username in brackets. People appear to have been using either. Please include your bitcointalk username at minimum so we can communicate as needed.
I indicated that the amount owed should subtract any withdrawals you were successfully able to make from btc-arbs.com

Updated spreadsheet with btc-arbs name (CryptKeeper), not bitcointalk name, hope he comes through...

What is the point in putting the btc-arbs name in the spreadsheet? The spreadsheet is to let us track who gets refunded and the username lets us contact each other if on bitcointalk. If people start adding btc-arbs usernames, we won't know who they are and cannot contact them.

Btc-arbs admin shouldn't be using the spreadsheet, he should be using the emails and PM's we sent him to determine the refund. But, he should already have had that information anyway.

in the google doc do we use our btc-arbs user name or bitcointalk username?

Bitcointalk username. That's how we can communicate with each other. The spreadsheet is for our purposes, not the BTC-Admin. He should be refunding us based on our emails and PMs with the BTC-arbs username information.

The problem is that the arbitrage possibilities using the exchanges he quotes involve making transfers in fiat for repeated buy/sells. The ~2% arbitrage he quoted cannot be performed on all funds on a daily basis, it would be spread out over several days. It's not possible to provide the returns he posted on btc-arbs unless he is using other mechanisms than the btc-e/bitstamp arbitrage route, such as a ponzi. At the moment, I think the easiest money to make is to hold a short position in dogecoin.

Is there an effort to find the person/people behind the site? Would establishing a bounty for information leading to an arrest be useful?

i got mine 0.2btc back with 0.0019btc extra.

Today they sent me that. i still think its a ponzi.
There explanantion was that wallet was hacked and they haven't got funds.

Typical bollocks.

Did you send a support request for it back or did they just transfer all yours out of legacy automatically?

I just sent them support request, calling them ponzi and scammers.
Today magic way -pooof, BTC in my wallet.

Proof or it didn't happen.

I'm not bullshitter but due to newbie's lack of trust here is the image:
...

You omitted the detail it didn't come from a legacy account. Trust levels on a thread for a ponzi hyip are not going to be high.
