Is there any actual reasoning behind the number 111% and choosing it over any other arbitrary number for annual interest?

What's the plain to avoid hyperinflation?

Sorry if this was already asked.

It was a community choice by voting. Hyperinflation will be avoided because this will help its distribution.
How exactly does this help distribution?

Consider a case where the Motogame is magically playable on a phone in its current technical state plus cosmetic changes and available in app stores for free. What use is it popularizing / marketing a product which doesn't work as advertised? No people will be making money in it when competing with bot farms. Do you then see how low on the priority list cosmetic changes should be?

I don't think going on and on about making changes to core functionality really gets anywhere if one doesn't understand the technical implications of such changes. Don't forget this is still the only (half) working embodiment of the full proof of play concept. Many people know the  vast potential in there but nobody has come up with a better game model so far. As long as bots dominate I would argue it a waste of resources if main development efforts were aimed at cosmetic features. We are still far from the day when porting to other platforms and marketing to casual and/or hardcore gamers would make any sense. Perhaps it will never come. Perhaps a breakthrough is just around the corner, waiting to pop into someone's head. Who knows.

I don't mean to discourage your efforts. Regarding your graphics skills - this is an open source project and anyone is free to commit their contributions of any kind, graphical modifications included, any time. What keeps you from just doing the suggested graphical revamp already, which you are offering for a while now? I recall HMC already explained the format in which graphics are stored. Or is that not all you need to know? Just ask. Cheers.

By the way I'm just lurking really, waiting for the right moment to jump in with some BTC.

I'm here to apologize for being away for the past couple of months, university really overwhelmed me and when I finally could take a look I saw that the team that involved me had disbanded.

I did get a payment I never cashed out (now worth pennies) for my services that I now feel were inadequate as a PR person, so if anyone has any ideas of ways I could still help out, I would give it a try and hopefully soften the loss of some people in a position far more unfortunate than me in this venture.

Is the dev a reasonable person now or a lost cause?

Is the future marketable at all, if there even is one?

If I was a bot operator and had massed up like 20% of total coins in circulation, I would surely offer a good chunk of that for development bounties. I'm not sure what miracle they are hoping for otherwise. Perhaps holders could donate some BTC for development? This is a great platform to do that which helps ensure actual work is done to receive the donations: https://tip4commit.com/projects

And another thing..

willoweb, I really appreciate the enthusiasm and brainstorming you bring to the board in general but you are really starting to sound like a broken record after HunterMinerCrafter has explained to you several times in great lengths about how it is of no help to just say 'make it a phone app with fancy graphics' when that doesn't really address any of the many real key problems the coin currently faces, and only introduces countless other complications, not to mention being utterly incompatible with the concept of the proof of play blockchain and its implications.

Could you be a darling and educate yourself on the core functionality of the blockchain and proof of work (Satoshi Nakamoto's first whitepaper is a good start, work with it until you really understand every single word in it and how it all comes together in the big picture) and then understand the yet more complicated proof of play model and the things it requires to work (the old Moto whitepaper can be of some help, studying the code is also a good path) and then try to see how far from workable your suggestions really are? Not trying to be a buzzkill or anything, just want to help. In fact, if you have any concrete questions about these things, feel free to PM me or just ask here.

EDIT:
Think about the following things to start with:
- How would phones handle the huge download of the blockchain in order to mine?
- If they would choose to only use the end of it, who would support and secure the network?
- If it's currently near-impossible to get any human mining done on large resolutions and monitors, with responsive keyboard controls and other advantages, what do you think would be the experience of mining on a 7 inch touchscreen?
- If you want to suggest the completely different game model you talked about before, is being 'more fun' really worth anything if the proof of play function would be far easier to automate with bots?
- Humans rely on visually presented data to play, which is rendered in a delayed fashion in order to be comprehensible (not to mention enjoyable to play). Since the game has to be deterministic in order to work as proof of play, the bots can 'fast forward' the calculations and directly receive the game's data without having to 'look' at how it's rendered visually, so they can process and analyze the same deterministic information millions of times (given enough CPU power) in the time it would take for humans to first see it and then instinctively react to it. Then it's only a matter of trial and error (in case of a complicated work function such as the one in Motogame) to find an input that solves the game, or a matter of chaining some simple (for a bot) but inhuman reaction inputs together (in the case of a shooter game you described). If you find a technically workable solution to this problem with your suggestion which would be even close to the botting difficulty in Motogame, then there might be reason to iterate on the idea further. But if that was so simple, don't you think it would be proposed long ago, since many technically brilliant minds keep an eye out for this project for months now?

Could be legit for all I know but an ICO before you have so much as a screenshot or a tiny clip of the game to show... Reeks of ulterior motives, sadly.

This just proves that there is never gonna be a shortage of people greedy and willing to gamble to the point of defying all reason, and people willing to abuse them. I guess it's inevitable. Only feel a bit sad for the innocents lured in but I guess some will argue there were no innocents in this particular case - the premise doesn't really entice people to invest based on any kind of reason or promise whatsoever. Hope that some lessons were at least learned. And this probably doesn't really blow the widespread reputation of alt coins any lower since it's probably near rock bottom anyway, everyone I know who's heard about them thinks they're blatant scams and absolutely hopeless, sad that this also makes many believe less in Bitcoin itself too.

I'm not a holder of any of those 3 but I would say the 3 communities need to collectively donate BTC to an escrow and use that to hire a competent dev to combine the premises of all 3 coins into one solid, stable wallet of a new coin which could perhaps start with 50% or so PoW coins premined and exchange those against useless LOL, CSO and ESC coins in fair ratios. Just an idea.

I feel the release approaching but there are some immediate concerns regarding the coin distribution and the state of the market it results in.

Regardless of what the richlist shows, I look at the amount of coins mined over the last months and the miniscule amounts that have been sold, so am I wrong to assume that a single dominant miner holds 20%-30% of the coin supply? And then, I'd guess the handful of other miners make up for at least 50% cumulatively. I may be off quite a bit but I think the point would still stand... With that information at hand, how is anyone motivated to enter the market when there are currently zero uses for the coins one could purchase, and overwhelming danger of massive dumps at any point above any miner's electricity spend, resulting in a very likely immediate reduction in value of anyone's theoretical investment. No matter how much I'm attracted to the idea of MOTO, I feel there's crucial parts missing of an ecosystem needed for sustaining the growth of both the coin's future prospects and its economy.

Whatever happened to the online replay viewer development? Are that kind of features gonna get any attention after the first patch is released?

Also, I just got the weirdest idea. Since we gotta fork anyway, as it's a significant change, what if block rewards were boosted to 100 or so for a few hundred blocks to stimulate human mining and interest, while bot operators are busy adjusting their algorithms? It could then quickly return to normal. Just an idea, perhaps it can be changed into a better one.

If my logic is all backwards anywhere, feel free to correct me Smiley

There will likely be some time where the network is "naturally" free of heavy bot competition without bot operators explicitly holding back again.
I'm afraid this "natural" period might be too small. What bot owners will probably need to do is disable map filtering and everything else remains the same. It actually can happen so quickly that human players might not even notice it. So what I'm talking about is that bot owners can make an agreement or something and intentionally switch off their bots for some time (a week) cause TT reset is in fact a very rare event and I think we should not waste it. I think it's pretty rational behavior even though it's slightly unsafe for the network (who cares?). I can't understand what's the point to collect coins if you can't sell them at a good price. We have something like prisoner's dilemma here and we (human players and bot operators) definitely should cooperate (even if we can't do it naturally by making humans and bots equal we still can simply make an agreement). It would be even better if we could arrange this event every month or every two weeks but it is impossible without TT reset (network would simply stuck).

So, HunterMinerCrafter, do you agree?
I get your sentiments, but this simply doesn't solve anything long-term. And it would deliberately make the network unstable periodically, that's a no-no from me. I believe there's a middle ground solution hiding in plain sight somewhere here, but I think it's certainly not "turn off your bots, pretty please?"
