Looks like there are more game related coins coming out. Apex better stay on the ball if they don't want to lose their advantage.

What ICG need's a source of BTC to fund development.

I was thinking of something along the lines of a betting game, the earnings go to development.

Any other suggestions?

I don't think this is a good idea since APEX has already made moves on that market.

Given the fact that it's already possible to buy ICG at several ATM locations. Are there any plans to have shops in the vicinity to accept ICG as a form of payment?
There's a lot of potential in having Incognito Coin used as a currency beyond the realm of coin traders and used by the general public.

It seems that there is already a major effort towards reducing barriers of entry and improving ease of access. It would make sense to capitalize on it and give ICG greater use and utility either initially through online shops or physical store locations.

The task could be a community based effort. There is certainly alot of potential in it however.

I agree. Any more community suggestions?

The weed thing seems to be a current trend right now. If ICG could be used for that, with proper adoption it could be stepping stone to real world usage.

Once the fork is done and the new wallet is released, then the coins will be stuck there forever and we can put this whole thing behind us.

He scared people out of coins, probably has a big bag now that he doesn't want to see disappear.

Update:

I have reached out to Bitsta multiple times throughout the weekend and today, there been no contact with him yet.

I have been trying to reach him for the refund money of 3 BTC minus the developments he's made.

What does the community feel is a correct amount to give to bitsta for developments he has made?

If bitsta reads this could you please get in contact with me or CheDigital?

If you can't get in contact with bista then I would contact studio1one, as he is the community manager for rootcoin.

No product delivery = full refund. Unless he gives you something usable, which I doubt a new dev would want/need.

Any news on the new dev btw? It'd be cool if he + the team did an AMA or something on reddit, might attract new investors too.

I think ICG should be pushing towards a working trustless marketplace. Whether its with OpenBaazar or a custom platform (similar to Cloaks OneMarket). That's the holy grail that everyone seems to be striving for these days, along with working trustless anon.

Also, a third party review (like from an XC dev) would go a long way as well.

We are now in conversations with a dev that is very much interested in joining the team as a dedicated and lead developer.

more information coming later tonight or tomorrow morning.

This is a much better direction then waiting on someone who has let many down and made empty promise after empty promise. Hopeful.

Great to hear.

Bitsta is a big disappointment. I wouldn't be surprised if he pulled a cloak.

Empty promises after the next... Not a lot of people are supporting him after what happened to Root. I believe this is a better alternative. ICG shoudn't be linked to Bitsta due to the fact that he hasn't be transparent in both communicating and delivering.

Also, shouldn't there be any compensation for the delay?

Maybe him and Alty went on vacation together (alty was on vacation when cloak was sliding downwards) Cheesy

Since Bitsta has just recently said that he will have a 'teaser' soon and bitkey this week, I vote to just wait this week and then decide if we want to move along with the refund or not.

Thoughts?

I agree. We also want to be sure that we don't move into a less respectable anon solution. Ideally we want something that has been third party certified.

We need someone else to hop on bitkey for ICG and beat root coin to the punch.

That would be interesting considering ICG paid bista for his bitkey implementation.

How has the updated BitKey timeline for rootcoin affect the ICG roadmap?

We will continue working to meet our deadlines.

Additionally, the ATM timeline has been reduced greatly.

Thank you

So you're expecting to have BitKey integrated by the 21st?

PoS interest: 20% annually

Will this be changed at some point? Seems pretty high, especially compared to other PoS coins.

20% PoS leads to a 4-5% inflation rate. In other words, minters earn 20% but the money supply only increases at the rate of 5%. Hondo calls this phenomenon "fractional staking":

Quote
Typically only about 25% of the money supply for a given Proof-of-Stake (PoS) coin is subject to continuous staking. This "fractional staking" leads to (1) gains for those who stake (minters) and (2) losses for those who don't (non-minters). Fractional staking therefore results in wealth transfer from non-minters to minters because inflation of the money supply is lower than it would be if the entirety of the money supply were continuosly staked.

To understand how wealth is transferred, it is helpful to quantify wealth as an individual's ownership of the total money supply of a given coin. For example, if an individual holds 1000 coins of a money supply of 100,000, then the individual's wealth is quantified as 1%.

The following example uses a 20% APY as an example because this value typically leads to a reasonable inflation rate of about 5% per year, given that all coins are subject to approximately the same fractional staking of 25%.

Note the following values:
  • Total money supply after 1 year: 105% (5% inflation)
  • Relative number of coins after one year for a minter: 120% (20% APY)
  • Relative number of coins after one year for a non-minter: 100%

Using these values, the relative wealth of a minter after one year is 114% (120% / 105%). In other words, a minter who stakes continuously grows wealth at the rate of 14% per year. Thus, a minter of a coin with a 20% APY doesn't just keep up with inflation, but beats it by 14%!

On the other hand, a non-minter loses wealth over time. After a year, a non-minter's total coins is 100% of what it was at the beginning of the year. Therefore, a non-minter's drops to 95.2% during this time, losing wealth at the rate of 5% per year.

It is also possible to calculate a non-minter's losses in terms of forgone profits, which is 19.7% ([114% - 95.2%] / 95.2%). Thus, a non-minter could have nearly 20% more wealth if they had staked their coins ([114% - 95.2%] / 95.2%). Not coincidentally, these lost profits are approximately equal to the nominal APY.

Thanks for clearing this up for me, I'll have to read through a few times to really understand it Smiley

PoS FUD OVER! I quoted the explanation for the trolls.

UPDATE: WEB WALLET DEV TEAM

Just a quick update on the progress from the web wallet team.

The web wallet backbone is setup, database synching, communications between nodes using a RabbitMQ cluster to manage pub/sub between clients and nodes. Next step is to focus on front end/UX, I'll be working alongside GoldenCrypto this week to being to implement a easy to use interface for the web wallet. Our goal, is to make the crypto experience as frictionless as possible.

So far looks like the web team is on schedule to begin to Q/A n Q/C by the end of the month.

Also, i'll take this opportunity to remind everyone that this Community is decentralized and we are all volunteers that have aligned around a common goal. Our vision could not be clearer, and our team is an amazing group who I could not be happier to work alongside, as we make the ICG community stronger by the day.

great work!
thanks for the update.

Agreed. This update is greatly appreciated Smiley
