Re: Openex hacked but coins recovered

So, when the coins were initially stolen, I tried to make trades with my ~.06btc and withdraw, a couple small trades went through, but others just ended with my BTC vanishing into thin air, about 0.052btc Do you still have all the old records/database to figure out what happened and credit my btc?

I honestly gave up and was just going to count it as a loss because I realized after thinking about it that I would be taking other people's coins, that hadn't been stolen, and they would be getting credits for btc that didn't exist. It was the BTC wallet that was stolen, and I was holding BTC, so I should take the loss, but now that it's recovered, I certainly wouldn't mind having it back, haha

This exchange is looking like an elaborate scam. I haven't seen a single person claiming to have successfully withdrawn any coins.

Mining seems to be a ponzi scheme

Mining is in most cases unprofitable. But not a ponzi scheme ffs.

I've just been watching all sorts of equipment that will never pay for itself get sold well above original retail on Ebay. That and people selling mining contracts that don't start until next April. I should clarify that it "looks" like a ponzi scheme. I don't think the flood of suckers buying in is a fundamental prerequisite for Bitcoin mining to work, but it's happening. People at the bottom are losing a lot of money.

Come to New Hampshire, we love Bitcoin!!

Over the summer I moved to NH as part of the Free State Project. One of the major results is that I'm now totally fascinated and involved with Bitcoin. I had heard of it before, but being around so many other people who talk about it and use it on a regular basis finally got me to jump in.

I only got into this a month ago and have:
-got a web-wallet, a cellphone-wallet, a desktop-wallet
-traded BTC/LTC/USD on a handful of exchanges
-bought things in real life with BTC
-sold things IRL with BTC
-bought things online with BTC
-got a few friends/family into Bitcoin

Mining seems to be a ponzi scheme at this point unless you've got deep pockets and connections, but I've been looking to pick up one of those USB ASIC sticks for cheap just to be a part of the network as a novelty. If anyone feels like hooking me up with one for ~$10 that would be cool  Smiley

Anyway, howdy all, glad to be here.

Howdy Curtis, that's awesome!

I've only been into it for about a month, I think I started telling people about it 2 weeks in, haha.
